Tom is a smart dude and I agree on most things, but his justification for the use of btc is....lacking. I agree been a great risk asset for investors, but the use of it is not close to being there.

The crypto markets looks like 2015-16. Probably going back to all time highs, but will go sideways, Recently sold 25% of my holdings comprising of Bitcoin and other plummeting stocks that were recommended by certain financial CZcamsrs.

i don't think it is. Once bitcoin crosses it's all time high, it becomes the new bottom. Anything under 69k is a good buy. It's still advisable to work with a fiduciary advisor instead of relying solely on speculations

It’s not implying, it’s proving a point that EVEN criminals find it trustworthy. Criminals love dollars, anyone outside of the US will agree. Everyone wants dollars because of the store of value. Bitcoin has no use in the US because we have the dollar. While someone in a country where the value of their money is more volatile than Bitcoin and it’s easy to get and use than the dollar (paper money) why wouldn’t they use it? People in Kenya used cell phone minutes as currency because it held its value over their own native currency.

I am 53 and retired at 50. 1 thing I did do to retire early was to get out of the 401K and IRA programs. Bought rental real-estate and I am now a Limited Partner in about 3500+ units. I do not work.
I only contribute 5% to get full company match, that’s it. The 401K plan is designed for you to work until you are about dead. Also, the government does not have their hands on it yet either.
My husband and I live off of our 401K. We don't work. I recommend highly to everyone to build your 401K or Roth IRA's as an alternate revenue stream in retirement to your Social Security. An observation on 401K's is when it gets over 300K it starts to accelerate. When you get over 500K it can really accelerate as the stock market grows.

@@Mary-Jane12 my approach? I gamble only what I can lose now days in the market. I can fall a long ways. Earlier in building my business I had to take on more risk to build the business. But now expanding is done off my capital grown from the business. I don’t carry debt. Especially with banking today. That requires two things, a business people value and self control on borrowing.

$150,000??? Wow! I am totally regretting not investing in bitcoin ever since my wife did. Although still grateful i kept money in the money market. With about $200k maturing soon, i plan investing well in it. But then what other assets should I look into as a newbie to safely grow my money?

Joe and Tom thanks for the commentary. Andrew, think about the fact that there is value in a trust less, peer to peer payment system that you can send around the work with no middlemen assessing fees, that you also can have full control over. In its pure form it can’t be confiscated. Don’t think from a US perspective only. Think of the value in countries where governments can take your money / freeze your accounts or devalue your currency with hyper inflation. That is why it is so powerful in the most challenged economic environments.
The young guy doesn't want to understand, although it is not that difficult to comprehend: If some folks want to emphathize that btc (like USD) is used for criminal activities, for them, that outweighs everything else. Also the fact that btc largely outperforms the ever inflating fiat money, that does't matter either.

Yes very true, I once mined bitcoin myself and I didn't make much gain from it. Until I got introduced to a financial advisor, that is when I started realizing much profit.
