Dylan Massey Bullied much?
bruce lee "i fear not the man who practiced 10,000 kicks once, but i fear the man who practised one kick 10,000 times" even tho this is punching same thing right?
+raju miah yea man, go ahead and practise
sounds like all i have to do is believe ...lol
I think in this lesson I needed to focus on the most tangible point of elasticity... you are correct in all strikes starting from the ground though.
I love the way you explained the triceps concentration! I am an instructor, I use to box so I incorporate a lot of boxing techniques into my classes (because women love it and its the best training :) This was something I never thought of explaining in this way! I always explain the twisting, the arm extension, the push and pull back with speed and the way you do it makes so much sense! Thanks!
I always use this technique when training, that is why I have some of the hardest hits in my classes.
These are some the most informative videos I have ever seen! Great breakdown and philosophy!
I think I just found the most useful and amazing CZcams channel on CZcams
This
I cannot believe I finally found the best video on CZcams!
Love how knowledgeable you are.
Awesome videos man, absolutely fantastic stuff.
Hey Noel,
Thanks for the advice!
As Jesse Pinkman says to Mr. White:
Yeah, Science!!!
love this content man
Very easy to follow so lets practice....
thanks Trav.
im glad i came about finding your page the videos are awesome pluss the advice, can u make vedeos on foot work n maby some on punching bags like how to properly do it im getting one n is allready being ship but thanks..thumbs up man
This guy is pure swag!
I've thought similar after taking neurophysiology i didn't really isolate movements to much but i practice punches explosively to get my fibers more accustomed to firing that way .
wow thats cool
I have not trained shotokan, but I study what WORKS in fighting, and kinesiology. If you guys teach this stuff in shotokan, then I should probably take some classes. That said, you might just be very fortunate to have found a GOOD school... they're not easy to come by.
Makes sense to me now. Like when you see Karate students do those drills over and over again. It's to build what's he's describing, interesting stuff man.. Cool stuff.
Hey Trav do some power lifting videos. You have the gift of instruction bro. Share the wealth.
beast that was crazy.
dude i am very grateful for ur tips
i leanr a lot .and gonna try in my gym ..i am good in slipping but now i will get better and make them miss and hit them lol
Your awesome
Great f**king videos sir. Never expected to learn so much in each vid. Keep up the good work.
Nice
These videos are excellent. I've been trying to increase my punching power / explosiveness, and I figured it came from my basic stance, movements, but have had a difficult time finding videos and such that really explain it (ex: "Step and snap your shoulder!" What tf does that mean?!") Your entire series is great.
Plus, who new Tosh.0 powerlifted and fought MMA?!
*knew. F u.
I have a full program for sale in the shop on my website. It has over 5 hours of lessons on head movement and counter punching, and you can improve DRASTICALLY without a sparring partner, and they certainly dont have to be good to help yoiu improve.
Well im already a power puncher, but this looks very helpful to improve it even more thanks good video, now i need to improve my speed a little
The waist twist and the push off the rear foot should also receive isolated training just like the arm does.
Exactly.
Nice lesson and reminds me of Shukokai karate. The hips fire forward first then torso and arm with fist turn at the end and al important muscles tense (made strong) but only on impact then tension immediately released. Cheers the noo :)
What size?
You just got a new subscriber! Very nice science based explainations. Especially enjoy the nonsense. How can I get FIGHT SMART t-shirt?
a good trainer dont have to be a good fighter, but i think you are a good fighter.
Nice green schreen
Do you know any drill for your head movements thing?? It's very interesting they dont teach us good stuff like that!!!!! I find it helpful in close range fights! Is it possible to practice head dodges without sparring partners? or with a partner who isnt a skilled fighter??
This perfect for sluggers/brawlers!
I see a lot of Karate shotokan philosophy in your techniques have you done Shotokan before?? This is exactly how we train in my shotokan club!!!!!! Exactly the same!!!
wow since you said you area an ex powerlifter i wanted to ask would you recommend doing 1-3 rep ranges bench, squat, deadlift to help with mma power? not trying to gain size only power and explosivness, can you please tell help me? thanks nice video btw it was good
Could you explain some of the proper breathing techniques when punching?
all the Muscles, untrue, the pulling muscles are along for the ride
lmao this girl made a hate account about me on Instagram and I cussed her out and she tried to fight me the next day, but I was waitin for her at the doe. I won, and only got Suspended for 3 days aye
Kerrigan Grubbs Nice One! :D
Thug life
Kerrigan Grubbs fuck did u just say
Kerrigan Grubbs
You young bitches always into some drama.
girls please no fighty
use knives for kitchen luv
please do a video about psychology on how to controle fear or nerves on a first fight
First of all, this is fucking awesome and you really bring something to the martial arts youtube community that is unique and invaluable. Second off is a question: Why not start from the legs up when training with your method? Is it because you can't hit something with your legs?
Where do you train out of, love to learn more?
That all depends on the range. Stepping in is always gonna give you more penetration which is the key to more power but a good knock out is done by design and not by power(IE Silva v. Griffin) If you are close range then you probably just wanna pivot, that's what i teach at least. Long to medium range is definitely a step in though because you have to be able to strike at least 6 inches deep. Hope that helps.
Can you post a video of how to do it?
you come at me like that im droppin ya
just wondering, which is the muscle that is more active when throwing a punch? the back or the tricep?
hey, can you upload combo punches
please......
Trav. Just vurious. How many fights you been in?
Thankyou now I have the confidence to stand up to a bully at school, im not walking away im just gonna let him take the first punch
I agree, but thats why brazilian jiu jitsu is one of the most effective martial arts, especially when combined with good striking and wrestling
I notice that you punch with your fist vertical. Does the position of the fist have any bearing with maximum fiber recruitment?
This is awesome. I was pooping watching this and used all my muscle fibers to push harder. I will also use this for punching 👍
shhhhhh youll wake these guy up
I'm working on merchendise... it's a headache that I really don't feel like dealing with, but fuck it. Might as well make some damn shirts.
Nice stuff let me know if you need some help.
The biceps is used when you bring the arm back not when you extend it. When you extend it you use the triceps.
If i only have your couching when i was in grade school, i could have knocked out all my bullies at school that mess up most of my childhood days.---
As a videogame nerd trying to get fit.. learning maximum fiber recruitment is like setting macros?
I took martial arts for a few years in my teens. I got pretty good at it, but with little help from my "master". He was a greedy Vietnamese guy that had a 16 year old girl teaching us most of the time. He never taught us any of the stuff I seen in your videos. All you need is at least one friend to practice with and these videos to get good at self defense.
john doe Haha yes! I saw that one, where they were up in the mountains:)
leaving out the "hips" for this topic, you should start of with yourt shoulders . you dont hit with you triceps(arm), you hit with your sholulders
i have the problem i play ilke a machine
how to be flexible in punching
El pana baja la guardia al lanzar el golpe.. Le entra un cruzado..
I want that shirt!!!
he looked funny while he was punching llf but it was helpful tho
looks good, but the punch shouldn't be relaxed and fast instead?
Where do you train bro I'm a experienced martial arts fighter . (5 years)
I figured it out on my own just needed proof
This guy looks like mayhem from bully beatdown
he sounds like him too! i thought the same thing lol
No, he doesn't really look like him. But he does sound a whole lot like Mayhem.
He looks more like Gray Maynard 😂
Your Website is slow for my country Romania.
hope this guy's videos doesn't get as big and widespread as mike chang's videos, at least in the next few months lol
I was practicing the mentioned stuff and ended up breaking the laptop screen. Typing from my phone right now.
XD good you can hit hard enough to break your screen
0:44 and 0:47
My entire fighting style is based around that punch
great punch but why do you look away and drop your shoulder leaving your chin vounerable from the right side? just accidental and forgot?
+Returded Pinapple if you turn your head you no longer see your opponent making your second punch coming a lot more in accurate, and if you turn your head on a straight punch you're going to get connected on in the jaw or the cheek
Where are the follow-ups? Website fails when I click.
lmao unfair type of power! I like it
did you know that you can do weird things like push your fist up against a wall as hard as you can for like 3 or 4 seconds and that will increase your punching power some how
Closed caption is a tecnology. You can use to help your chanel, and help me i dont understand english.
Don't forget using gravity as a force in addition to torque
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu begins where others end.
I would never want to start a fight with this guy
So basically kinect energy? :D
ever think of fighting inside the octagon?
¿¿¿ Did Trav just flip me off at ~1:45 ???
Do you only drive off your back foot, or do you use your front foot a little as well like a 90-10 split?
you usually only turn your back leg a little forward, so you can bring the momentum to the hip, which brings it to the torso and so on. but you need to pay attention that bot your feet face the target, when you punch, so you can hold the balance, keep more stamina and have an even stronger punch
if u use your front foot too much, your hip would not turn the way that gives the final punch the wanted power
hahaha legend!
HUHEEEH! HUHEEEH! HUUHEEEH!
I watch these for my brother
weight room is good also
Sorry Mr.Trav but, you're actually not supposed to tense everything at the same time because it breaks the body's natural momentum. The muscles are supposed follow the kinetic chain of movement from ground up to minimize the energy used and also accelerate the traveling momentum in a fluid motion. Also why the hands should clinch only on impact. I can demonstrate if u like.
Idk what ur saying but i think ur right xD
is this all fiber thing based on the fact that when you consciously use your muscles even in the gym or whatever you only use around one third of your muscles strength potential because that is more energy efficient? and the way you unlock all your strength is when in survival mode which is why you hear stories about people lifting cars to save kids or dogs or their homework or something haha
Doing this just because I'm starting to do boxing
you look like jason mayhem miller
and blake griffin put together
I'm not the only one who think he looks like BG32
Harry Yu i think he looks like keith my pet gorilla
XD knew it i already now this lol
Do you take Paypal? I want a Pterodactyl.
