    I love the way you explained the triceps concentration! I am an instructor, I use to box so I incorporate a lot of boxing techniques into my classes (because women love it and its the best training :) This was something I never thought of explaining in this way! I always explain the twisting, the arm extension, the push and pull back with speed and the way you do it makes so much sense! Thanks!

  • @txmunds
    @txmunds Před 10 lety

    That all depends on the range. Stepping in is always gonna give you more penetration which is the key to more power but a good knock out is done by design and not by power(IE Silva v. Griffin) If you are close range then you probably just wanna pivot, that's what i teach at least. Long to medium range is definitely a step in though because you have to be able to strike at least 6 inches deep. Hope that helps.

    I took martial arts for a few years in my teens. I got pretty good at it, but with little help from my "master". He was a greedy Vietnamese guy that had a 16 year old girl teaching us most of the time. He never taught us any of the stuff I seen in your videos. All you need is at least one friend to practice with and these videos to get good at self defense.

      you usually only turn your back leg a little forward, so you can bring the momentum to the hip, which brings it to the torso and so on. but you need to pay attention that bot your feet face the target, when you punch, so you can hold the balance, keep more stamina and have an even stronger punch

    Sorry Mr.Trav but, you're actually not supposed to tense everything at the same time because it breaks the body's natural momentum. The muscles are supposed follow the kinetic chain of movement from ground up to minimize the energy used and also accelerate the traveling momentum in a fluid motion. Also why the hands should clinch only on impact. I can demonstrate if u like.

  • @ChazZen
    @ChazZen Před 10 lety

    is this all fiber thing based on the fact that when you consciously use your muscles even in the gym or whatever you only use around one third of your muscles strength potential because that is more energy efficient? and the way you unlock all your strength is when in survival mode which is why you hear stories about people lifting cars to save kids or dogs or their homework or something haha
