- Learn How To Roundhouse kick with disgusting power using simple Muay Thai Kickboxing techniques. howtofightnow.com If you're trying to learn Muay Thai kickboxing, how to kick harder, or just how to kick, watch this.
MMA Techniques work really well in any fighting scenario. These MMA kicking techniques will help you to strike harder and knock people out with your legs. Learning how to throw a Muay That roundhouse is a great step in learning how to fight. This video lesson will teach you everything you need to know about the best roundhouse kicking form and technique.
Lot's of people want to learn how to fight, but they have no idea where to look. You can find a lot of street fighting videos on CZcams, and a lot of videos titled "how to win a street fight", but most of them are crap. I personally don't want to learn from some dude punching a couch cushion in his back-yard, with his twitchy girlfriend holding his IPhone camera... but that's just me.
I created the fight smart training program to teach people how to fight with REAL TECHNIQUES that work... I gathered them in my career as a professional fighter. If these techniques work in the cage, they will certainly work in a street fight. A lot of times, I had these moves used against me... and it hurt.
I don't care what your purposes are: self-defense, a personal quest, or just to be a more powerful bully... it doesn't matter. My job is to provide you with the realest fighting moves out there, and to teach you how to fight and win every time. Be sure to check out my website... I have far more video on howtofightnow.com than I have in my CZcams channel.... and they're free.... because I'm cool like that.
Check out the website and good luck learning how to punch, how to kick, how to do Jiu Jitsu, how to do Muay Thai kickboxing, and how to do any of the other Keywords that I'm trying to target by writing this channel description. - Jak na to + styl
THIS kick is definitely a fight ender. I once had a student who possessed zero martial arts ability, limited flexibility and not much athletic ability. For months we worked one kick: the Muay Thai round kick on the pads. One day he asked me why we only trained this kick. I told him if you ever have to use it, you'll see why. To make a long story short he got into a mugging situation, instinctively blasted his attacker with one kick, knocked him into a garbage can and left his attacker moaning in pain on the sidewalk.
+Anakin Skywalker shut up
+Dom Cruz stfu
+Tyler McHugh you stfu you novice
+Aηαкιη “Ɗαятн” SкуωαƖкєя lol i'm joking with y'all but anyway , do any of you guys do martial arts? I just started boxing & I've been doing karate for 8 months .
And then you woke up. Lol jk cool story
I don't know if you all realize (and I apologize for sounding condescending) but I've studied the mechanics of perfect round Thai kicks a lot and this guy is great. He's getting a lot of views because essentially this guy is saving you a lot of hours trying to try work out all the subtler mechanics that other vids don't fully go through. You still need to practice a ton and he's still giving you only an overview but some little tips like the knee in the mid kick are invaluable so thank him!
LOOOOL the guy wearing heels! Crying. Nice vid.Very informative.
Hahaha.... yea I have all kinds of good stuff. It's just simple physics in a lot of cases. You see the video on elastic recoil yet? That's one of my favorites just because it goes deeper into kinesiology... the correct term is actually "stretch reflex", and it's excellent stuff.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This video has really helped me out. I'm just getting back into my martial training after a long hiatus and I have to tell you that this short video and your excellent instruction have made the roundhouse kick make so much more sense to me than anyone else has in the past. In five minutes, you've helped me learn how to take my roundhouse kick to a level I never had before and I'm hopeful that with enough practice, I can achieve something close to the level of skill that you've achieved. Thank you!
Great video. Very descriptive, the high heel speed bit was a great analogy and good for a chuckle all at the same time.
you're an amazing teacher Trav!! You have an amazing personality. you make fighting simpler!
Dude I just had to subscribe really enjoy this first one looking forward to all of your videos... Thanks man all the way from mexico just to say we appreciate the time you take to put these videos up..
Awesome video and very good explanation. Thank you.
My pleasure man... more to come
Really like the way you explain the techniques, keep up the great work dude.
I appreciate this video, really helped my TKD game
Mate, great videos! Love the technical but mostly the presentation! All the best from Australia! Looking forward to more videos and podcasts on the website!
I love your videos, man. They're great review for home, after training, even for people who have been training a while (everyone has little tricks they add), and for beginners.
Your delivery and cadence remind me a little of Dane Cook by the way, a little funny, but an all around fun personality.
I love this channel.
thank you for this.
Pretty good description!
Beautiful explanationexplanation
Really helpful guys
Thanks for the lesson! ^^ You are my master from now on! ^^
Great video's ! Thank you .
Hi there, I was instantly intrigued and entertained when I watched a video of yours where you slipped punches from random strangers on the street. I've been taking muay thai lessons for about a month and wanted numerous sources to study off of. And man, are these videoes great. Thanks for the free lessons!
Thanks guys, it helped me with kicking and animating kicks.
Nicely explained. The power is in the pivot!
Same as with the side kick. Also, keeping the knee high initially is crucial. Seen plenty of black belts who didn't understand this and threw their kicks with the knee down and this has driven me crazy for half my life. Love the way you break this stuff down.
Your videos are awesome!
Thanks very much dude... I really appreciate it
I love it!!!
Very nice
on my way to watch it now.
thanksyou help me a lot
I love the push off tip, that is something I was looking to improve. I was having trouble getting back to me stance.
really good videos dude :)!
i just love this kick. though i didnt learn it from muay thai.
My Muay Thai Instructor would say "Show me your Back" as an analogy to get us to do the full hip twist. Love your videos.
Subscribed sensei
Most of my fights are just me using brute force to win but with these videos, I can easily win a fight. Thanks man, I've been fighting for a long time, whether it be in school or whatever, but thanks and I just subbed.
When I first transitioned from tkd to Muay Thai we were going over the round house kick and the instructor was getting mad at me because I kept habitually snapping the kick instead of swinging into my partner like an axe. Was the most frustrating few first weeks of muay Thai trying to adjust
thedarkknight646 Yeah, muay thai is a lot more driving power oriented than other martial arts. I had a similar issue, since I'd taken tkd when I was younger.
thedarkknight646 IknowtheStruggle..
thedarkknight646 SAME DUDE
nice explanation
Great video. I have your app on my iphone too
Veryy good. Donald Cerronie is a master at these kicks
good man!!!
Good explanation.
I have a Tae Kwon Do style snap kick so when I took Muay Thai for the first time it was very difficult to transition the kicks into a full body roundhouse. Awkward body movement because I didn't recognize the pattern at the time.
i learned something in like the first 50 seconds, good tips
i never could do round house kick easily. piviting was the problem. but after watching this video I really improved. thanks alot for your efforts/
He's absolutly right !
It's good to know that you learned some stuff from Bas Rutten.I'm a fan of him and I wanna practice some techniques like these at home with a friend.
very informative and very hilarious lol
Definitely appreciate the humor in your videos Trav! A heads up lthough, the video links aren't functioning.
Thx
nice
You are one of my favourite sir please upload one video based on triple roundhouse kick ok
Good stuff Travis. I especially like the fact that you address driving the knee across and beyond your target. Most people remember to teach the pivot and some the hip pop but can't say I remember seeing anyone teaching the knee placement. How ya been buddy? Still in the area?
@FightSmartTrav: Hello, love the videos, i also saw the video with the head / body movement vs the street guys, that was quite awesome. May i ask how tall are you and how much you weight ? Cause it seems you are not small and still move fast. Thanks and keep them coming :)
Great tip for the roundhouse kick to the head: side up your body. make sure you do that for more power and more control in the kick.
1 fact for a great kick, your waist is the moost importent to twist. The waist draws more power the faster it spins the harder the blow is. (dont forget to pivit your foot while twisting the waist. Good Luck with the roundhouse :D
Great video, eve though I have been doing martial arts for a little while the video is really good, furthermore i do agree with you when we fight we eventually kick with the neck of our foot but in my opinion, you kicked with your shin
thanks bro !
Dynamic flexibility drills... I'm going to put out a video series on kick flexibility... go join my website and read my emails!
Any time homie... I'm always there.
Man I am watching ur vids for self-help. I 've done so many roundhouse kicks for years that I ended up injuring my lower abs because of the last stage of the kick when you turn the hip for power the abs engages. Not sure if can do it anymore without pain. great stuff and really funny laughed my head off. Thanks and keep them coming.
THANK FOR TALKING ABOUT THE PIVOT SO MANY PEOPLE NEVER PIVOT!!!!!
Trav, not only are you great at teaching, but your ability to inject both subtle and major humor into your lessons is noteworthy as fuck! Haha, keep up the good work!
That is correct.
Good video..but i wanted to see more demonstration of techniche than so much explanation.. but still helpful...oh yeah how can i get one of your t-shirts would love to get one..size medium or large??😁😀😂😂🤗..plus it's my first time I believe watching any of your videos will keep watching more..thanks!
Im going to be like mine tyson after you videos love them btw
Hey Trav, thanks for posting these vids. You break stuff down in a way that makes sense to us amatuers. Throw in some humor and its good shit. One suggestion........ well actually it only applies to me. I am trying to start my amatuer MMA thing and am having trouble building power and mobility in my strikes because I am so lanky. I am 5 foot 9 with a 74 1/2 reach. Maybe post a video on building power in strikes for super lanky guys??? Just a thought lol. Again, sweet vids keep em comin bro
great video. to clarify, when connecting with opponent is kicking leg bent or almost straight?
Yo Trav which bag you will recommend best for punching kicking and ground?
Thank you coach, lol my instructor had a hard time teaching me how to kick. Il be back and impress him =)
is true this kick is so powerfull if you don't apply correctly you n' that with broken leg your self it happen to many kick boxer I prefer kick to the rips,or head well down for this video master,
Something travis pointed on that is as important as pivoting is stepping passed the person before the pivot. If youre facing the person and are parallel to them and are kicking with your right leg, you want to step passed them to the left. That way the most mid point (and most powerful) of the kick will be dead square at your target. On the flip side if you dont step before the kick the mid point and most powerful point of the kick will take place before you get to your target.
nice, alot of details that most people leave out ,and i had never learned that detail about what to do after you spin and miss so thanks!...but one thing ive heard about 'true'muay thai is that you straighten both legs right before impact on leg kicks can anyone confirm or deny this?
thanks¡¡
thanks you, im going to practice the roundhouse kick at the dojo and apply it on combat if the sensei lets me do it, because we are learling Tae kwon do
How about if you are a little further back in the distance and you alter this technique with a more Karate style strike with the heel of your foot? I use both techniques do to it being one of my best techniques in the arsenal and you can change the strike in a split second if you miss judge the distance.
you should fight fight tips would love to see it
Great video, no new vids though? thats a shame, content is real good.
It's funny how intuitive this becomes after actually training for a good amount of time. From experience, explaining a solid kick is difficult to do especially when someone is new to the movement.
Yeah you're right. a roundhouse can end a fight in one hit. but I like how anderson silva ended his fight with his special kind of roundhouse.
i have to agree with ron
TravMan I love this video and your one on head movement out in the street (where you had real dudes in the neighborhood try to hit you but mostly couldn't due to the head movement technique).
----Can you do a video on the most effective combinations between the hands and feet? ----
I come from a boxing background and believe in throwing punches in bunches (3 or more strikes per combo). Honestly, when Intry to combine explosive boxing combos like (1-2-1-2 or 2-3-2-3 or 1-2-3-4 with Muay Thai style strikes I just doesn't seem to flow as well when you consider the distances, defense, footwork, and. Adjoins strike options compared to boxing and MMA or Muay Thai aka integrating all of that together just doesn't seem as smooth as it should be).----Are you cool with doing some videos showing how to combine Muay Thai and boxing into explosive advanced multi strike (like 4 or more strikes from all 8 limbs) devastating bad ass combos?---This channel is THE pimp!
Ow. Just looking at your demonstration of this, it's a brutal kick. That could snap someone's shin if you got them just right. Don't want to be on the opposite side of this, thanks for the video!
Trav wussup, hope everything good. I been desperately searching for someone with your level of expertise and with your type of personality so that i can relate to what i'm learning. I'm from NY not sure where your located but i wanna learn and possibly personally train with you. I have a couple of situations that are effecting me because I'mm not capable of handling them. If you can please respond I would appreciate that.
how can you mix the foot work of a boxer and the ideaogolgy of checking a kick with muay thai
on this particular movement you should be aiming for behind the knee and follow through with an elbow to the to the face to break to jaw
What is the best angle to throw the kick from? Where should your lead foot be compared to your opponents lead foot? Parallel to? Outside? and how far outside?
Hey man, what sport/martial art you're doing? Do you have any speciality?
At the point of impact, do you want to have your leg bent as shown in this vid, or are you straightening out your leg before impact?
I love what your telling. People about the kick i have been training over 40 year what you are saying is right and you look very good st doing it but there are one thing you are doing wrong your right hand is dropping. I know you are dropping it for. Added prowler. But if the bad guy is tran and know how to block your our like a light
The problem with martial arts instructors, they talk for almost the entire video and at the very end of the video do one thing related to the video's title. What helps people understand the move is if you keep doing it not talk about it, you correct your form with time.
was doing a fatigue drill in kick boxing tonight and now have a sore left hip and walk with a pimp limp. I know it was from bad form, I am eight-sided dominant and my left foot (which I refer to as my Frankenfoot ) had to be put back together with 9 screws and 2 titanium plates so it doesn't work as well as I would like. Anyone have any ideas how I could relieve the pain and prevent it from happening again?
you can do roundhouse on the leg?
So to use the hip, hump the air?
I have a question?....so if im right handed that means my left hand would be my jab and right hand would be my power right?
I know bas personally, all you are doing is regurgitating exactly what he said without understanding it. You ever see bas just standing in one place? His feet point almost directly out to the side. Both he and crocop can do a full split. Bas has built a style that works for HIM and his body, 99 percent of individuals will need to pivot to put their body in the correct position to kick. If you're Bas rutten, you can cut corners.
I got to a black belt in karate and the roundhouse was my strongest kick do u think i could perform this kick properly with practice
i love this guy, he goes through the physics of WHY it makes it stronger, he explains it exactly how it feels. I learned my roundhouse from tae kwon do and its exactly the same . . . P.S. tae kwon do (at least competition style) is shitty for a real fight
My friend challenge me once to fight because he was super pressed to try his tae Keon do. He did very horrible, easy to block his hits, he was left open so i roundhoused him and he literally flipped and he hit the side of his head on the mud
Imagine the mechanics of sprinting at the fastest. You move you right leg forward while the right hand swing backwards. Trying sprinting with your hands at your waist or holding on to your chest. Hope it somehow makes sense. 😁
i got tight hips what can do to get them int o kick ?
you became pretty popular in a short amount of time....have you thought about getting into the UFC House, or the Bellator Fight Master house???
What is someone throws this kick at you? How would you block?
;-; I do the roundhouse, Pivoting and such, however I never really followed through, maybe thats why my kicks were extremely weak, I'll try this and see if I gain power with this.
Also do a video on how to do flexibility training for high kicks like the splits
