  • Hey everyone. I made this video because some of you asked me how I learned Spanish, and I wanted to share my knowledge of over 10 years trying to learn and speak it. I still make plenty of mistakes but it's been a fun journey. I hope you find something interesting from this video. Let me know what you think in the comments below and good luck on your journey!

I also majored in Spanish! I agree, what we learned was nowhere near like spoken spanish that people actually use everyday.

Excellent explanation! I'm in the opposite case. I'm learning English level C, it's like a Marathon and it takes long. I've improved a lot but a couple years ago I spoke like the Indians in the Western films. But not only is the Grammar, our teacher also wants an accurate pronunciation. ( My brain is thinking the words in phonetics all the time). You're right about speaking without any fear. (Perder la vergüenza es lo mejor para avanzar)😊

What accurate pronuntiation??? Accurate pronuntiation in English it's a kind of joke... almost a oximoron...
Vete a UK y en cada ciudad tendrás una pronunciación diferente... te volará la cabeza...

Very nice choice of music! I have been wondering why so many Americans chose Spain to move to Europe. Do you think it has something to do with Spanish, that if coming back to the US it will be a very useful skill?

    •  Před 2 měsíci +1

Thanks Ben! Well for me it was the fact that Spanish was the only foreign language available in high school, and then I majored in it in university, and Spain is a safe country with high quality of living, plus I think we love that its so close to other european countries

yes that makes sense! And how would you say that it is a better choice than Italy for example?@

    •  Před 2 měsíci +1

@@BenEncounters Good question! I don't know if Spain is better than Italy, just different. I would love to spend some time in Italy in the future and am currently learning Italian! It's cool to see the similarities and differences between the two cultures and languages. Which country do you prefer?

yeah I bet less people speak Italian, I saw some statistic of favourite europeans countries for Americans and Spain is first of course,Malaga is first in Spain, and then some countries like Germany but Italy is quite after. Personnally, I definitely prefer Italy's architecture and cities, food-wise I prefer Italy as well, except Cataluna, which to me is even better than most Italian food. I think Spain has better cost of life as well. People are even nicer in Italy, could go on for a long time like this but it's funny because it really comes down to the specific regions of each more! @

Ross, what type of teaching credentials do you need to teach English in Spain? My wife and I want to move and live in Malaga (I will be retired there) but she wants to teach English if that is a possibility. Please let me know (BTW my name is Gonzalo)

    •  Před 2 měsíci

Hi Gonzalo. If she is a US or British citizen she could apply for the Culture Assistants program through the Spanish government. Usually you just have to have a Bachelor's degree and be a native speaker. Best of luck to you both!

@ sorry to bother you with another question(s), what grades can a person with the above requirements (Bachelors + native) teach? And it's that for public and private schools alike? BTW, I'm only referring to teaching English. Thank you so very much for your reply, I truly appreciate it.
