I remember rick waving back to me as a kid when i would be in 320 waving up at him. He looked right at me, smiled and waved. Love that guy.

The 1981 Stanley Cup playoffs at age 8 about to be 9 when the Buffalo Sabres took on the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of a five-game series Bob Suave and the Sabres shut out the Canadiens in the Montreal Forum the first two games,,The following Series against the Boston Bruins we lose in Game 7 overtime goal by Brad Park,, during this playoff run I was introduced to RJ ,,, man I was hooked !!!! All through the 1980s I would turn the TV volume down and turn the radio up,,, as a kid I had always wished for you to be the TV play-by-play guy and then the day came you were,,, as a Sabres fan the last 11 years have been very very hard,, perhaps within the next season or two our team can surprise us and get to the finals and I would hope they would break the glass and you'd be willing to call the games. It's understandable if you don't,, but I hope by some small miracle that that you do,,, as I am about to be 50 years old I've only really known One Voice besides Ted Darling when it comes to the Buffalo Sabres, for me it's going to be incredibly hard to accept anyone else as the voice of the Buffalo Sabres. Wish you nothing but the best of everything especially your health going forward and hope you get to do some things you've always wanted to do but hadn't done yet !!!!!
I'm sure I can say this for All Buffalo Sabres fans we love you too !!!!!
