- Green Is The Colour is a Roger Waters song, originally performed on the ‘More’ album. The audio for this clip comes from a performance recorded for BBC Radio on 12 May 1969, while the band footage was shot for French TV programme ‘Pop Deux’ at the ‘Festival de St. Tropez’ in the South of France on the 8th of August, 1970.
Audio included on ‘The Early Years 1965 - 1972’. Creative Director: Aubrey Powell, Hipgnosis. 2016 footage directed and edited by Nick Edwards. ‘Festival de St. Tropez’ footage courtesy of INA.

He's a very soulful person i suppose. I remember reading somewhere from one of his ex gf's that david was always sensitive to her dreams and wants and needs. Just a really compassionate person. Ever since i read that i can understand why he seems so soulful, because he is.

Roger is such a master of lyrics. Truly underrated by his contemporaries. This song is a lyrical masterpiece. I dare anyone to say otherwise.
Roger is great with lyrics, but his personality over shadowed it up due his arrogance.

the underrated album
Cary Heuchert actually I didn't really listen to More, but in my opinion almost every Pink floyd album is a masterpiece, I just don't like the stuff they've done after The wall, only few songs are great, but the spacey-experimental 60's Pink Floyd and the popular albums are the best. I don't like The Final Cut, except for The fletcher memorial, On Momentary "Sorrow", "Learning to fly" and "dogs of war" are great, the rest's nice, "High Hopes" from the Division bell is a late masterpiece, the rest is ok, and the Endless River so beautiful, but a little bit too calm.
meddle the best
As for me, I'd say that The Division Bell is as great as their previous works. I love "Poles Apart", "Wearing the Inside Out" and "Lost for Words". I actually love every song from this album.
"More" and "Obscured by Clouds" are 2 of my favorites as well. "Meddle"is really great too, but for "Meddle" as a whole??? Eh. "Seamus" messes that up. Not that "Seamus" isn't a great song in its own right...all Floyd songs are, but I usually find my mind wandering on other garbage as that song plays on. Doesn't keep my attention.

One of my favourite Pink Floyd songs. Such a simple & relaxing folk tune with flutes in the background. All in the scale of G .Wonder if hard core Floyd fans have come to appreciate this beautiful & highly underrated song.

David's voice is so soft and perfect, Angelic - I love hearing his well trained range, it's beautiful. I wonder who his Voice coach was. He has total control, I wish he had a whole album of Soft Rock/Folk Songs. Most male singers back then were straining their Voices to sing loud. It's obvious he loved to sing & started training early. Love him ❤️!!!
He never had a voice coach. All of them - (Richard) are self taught musicians. David said that he learned how to sing and play guitar from a book!!

I have listened to this great song perhaps 5000 times It was burned on countless cds and cassettes with other great short songs ..Long long ago when David and Roger played it live with Rick and Nick adding their beautiful expertise ,it could go on forever .That is how they are., giving us eternal bliss .And Syd's spark and genius got it going . Nick and friends played Green is the Colour last year (bless him ) and hopefully will tour again with all those gorgeous songs from the early years

One of the most beautiful songs ever written and played. It's shame that the audio quality (even on the original recording) isn't up to the level of say Dark Side. On the other hand, the raw sound gives it a more natural and unspoiled listening experience. I'll take it.
