“I do wish someone was here to share it with me”. - Me, every time I’m soling and see something awesome. Every..time..
Literally the only thing that holds me back from doing cool shit .
Why is he single? Modern day dating is broken?
You can hear it in his voice. ☹️
The stall horn sounded like Chris’s rendition of “clear” prop.
Awesome footage and you’ve yet again captured the right reasons of why I fly!
Nathan Jackson I was thinking that too.
It totally did lol!!
Perfect timing! I just completed my first landing on my own!
We're planning on a 1,150 Milles trip to Sun and Fun on 2020, from San Juan Puerto Rico (US) to Lakeland Florida...We have like 7 planes interested on the trip... So from Puerto Rico to the Dominican republic, the Bahamas, then Florida!! let see how that goes..
Dude, your editing is so far ahead and so much better than any other CZcams channel out there. You are a really good story teller and I find myself feeling as if I’m right there. I’m actually a commercial pilot myself working on CFI. Great videos man!
Not just the editing - think of what a pain in the arse it would be to stage a camera outside your hangar at 4AM, and then have to re-drive your car around to capture footage of "arriving at the hangar" :)
This is perfect motivation to finish getting my instrument rating 🙃
you got this! it opens your eyes so much.
I soloed 42 years ago today. Cessna 150 on a 13,000 foot runway. GRK when Fort Hood had a flying club.
This reminds me of when I would drive East before dawn, on my way to airshows the other side of the UK. I'd get a sunrise and see the contrails of airliners on their way to Heathrow and mainland Europe. It certainly is a special time of the day.
You make everyone want to be a better pilot, guaranteed. Great filming too.
I was a precision landing pilot on my flight team in college and we would start our practices at 6am every day, frequently watching sunrises from the pattern. The pilots were all big fans of HBO’s “From the Earth to the Moon” and at sunrise, one would key the mike and quote Alan Bean from the miniseries:
“My, that sun is bright!”
Inevitably, another pilot would chime in and respond:
“Feels good!”
That is so beautiful! I cannot wait until I finally get my student license. I currently have 20 hours, but I’m 15. I turn 16 in April. Cannot wait! Thank you! You have inspired me.
Keep er going man. I did the same thing, best experiences are yet ahead.
where you training? im 15 and will hopefully start training soon
@@jaimeblancopinto8130 I did my training for private at Green Bay and am starting my instrument through the University of North Dakota next semester
Wish I started my training as early as you. I'm 21 and only have 2.5 hours so far.
@@jayit6851 Still plenty early, I have classmates who are in their 40s. Better late than never
"Surley you're not serious". "I am serious and dont call me Shirley". Best movie of all times.
The only thing that sucks is the 15 minutes flew by.
Anybody else think that the stall warning horn sounded like someone letting the air out of balloon really slow....
Cessnas have a reed stall horn, so it essentially is that.
i thought it was Otto screaming!
I was thinking "3, 2, 1, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"
Beautiful. About “why don’t I get up early” come to the north, we have sunrise at 10 am
Incredible, Josh! I love how thorough you are in pre-flight planning - will keep you out of trouble later on.
Can't wait for the next installment!
Always love your videos. You passion really shows through and has for all the years I have been watching you. It is shared by many of us, your fans, fellow aviators, and those of us who one day wish to join GA. Hope you continue to make videos for years to come. Thanks for sharing.
Another cinematic masterpiece. Beautiful.
Great to see 80991 back in action! 👍🏻
You are such an amazing pilot! Thanks for all the videos, keep up the good work man!
11:04 - The subtlety there of proactively working with ATC is awesome.
Another amazing video Josh! Beautiful sunrise with amazing colors of the sky! I really can't wait for the next video to Florida. :)
Outstanding !! Love your videos (productions) so much. I still think you and Dad should upgrade to a 182. So much more airplane.
Loved seeing "Auto" co-pilot! Loved that movie! Missed 80991 so about time you paid some attention to her!!! I do a lot of fishing that early in the morning and every sun rise is different! The best time of day!!! Never the same!!! Time to do more of those and take us along!!!
Rob Maza He’s called Otto, but yeah.
Great sunrise flight...We need to do more of them!!!
Your enthusiasm is contagious and enjoyable. Thanks for the vid.
Each one of your videos not only inspire me, but also motivate me every single day. Really reminds me to appreciate the little things in aviation. Keep on soaring!
Beautiful shots Josh!
Welcome back, 80991! We missed you!
Amazing sunrise views Josh. Great flight.
I flew my plane from Sandpoint, Idaho to San Antonio when I moved back to Texas and it has been by far my most rewarding and memorable flight experience. So far.
You captured the wonder of it perfectly. Thank you for that.
Thanks for taking the time not only to show the technicalities of flying, but also the beauty of it. Those moments are sublime :)
early morning flights are the best! everything is just so perfect.
I haven’t flown for probably 15 years... thanks for the video, brought back some great memories 🤗🤗🤗
Right on, man it's so great to see 991 again. Great as usual and thanke Josh! =)
Hie Josh. Always nice to fly along with you. Nice to see 'Niner Niner One' back in business. Those morning shots epic, comparable to dancing on the outskirts of Heaven, truly awesome.
Wishing you blue skies and calm winds aloft on the remainder of your journey.
Another outstanding video Josh. I agree solo long X-country is the best. Flew Albuquerque to Oshkosh this year. Left at 4am watched the sun rise and kept on flying all the way to OSH in one day and 4 stops over 1000 miles. I plan my trips exactly the same way. Point A-Point B then use the ruler at 350 miles and start looking for airports. Every trip I have to take for work I always have the option for commercial but take an extra day on both ends and try to fly N734DV C172/180 every chance I get. Keep up the great work. Headed out to Las Vegas NV via Page AZ in Jan. with a stop at Marble Canyon just because you showed us what a kool little place it was and the breakfast sounds outstanding. Fly safe young man and keep the videos coming. Happy Holiday.
Another awesome video, great explanation with everything.
Ohh my god that sun rise. Love this channel. Your the best man
Very inspiring video Josh. I really enjoy following along and learning from a professional such as yourself. My training has come to a halt trying to get my medical cleared which is very frustrating. Your videos keep me going! I plan on making cross country trips like this in my future. I appreciate the experience you bring to general aviation through your cinematography. Keep up the good work and Happy Holidays!
watching your trip reminded me of me, 30 years ago. thank you! great job!
Thank you for sharing your flying adventures. I look forward to what you may have in store in 2020.Happy holidays and stay safe. Cheers, Victor
Josh this video hits a grand slam home run with that sunrise. Being in Houston we do get some amazing sunrises and sunsets here in Southeast Texas. Flying over that swamp land reminded me of the boys on "Swamp People", one of my favorite TV shows. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for all you do for General aviation.
out of all of the aviation channels on youtube, you are definitely the best. keep it up
AWESOME!!! Nice shots, great trip planning,. Top Notch.
Beautiful flight and awsome camera work. Your calm, alert, textbook landing is an inspiration to me as a student pilot.
Glad to see niner niner one back in the air! Thanks for sharing! Possible Solo tomorrow, so pumped!
Im frontal Mexico and your videos are very good, I learn english listening and seeing your videos!

What a perfect route. Inspiring video. Can’t wait to go flying 👍
Nice video..thanks for all the inspiration and motivation.
Love your videos. It has inspired me to fly again. i trained in New Braunfels 8 years ago then stopped flying about 3 years ago. I still live in San Antonio Area. your videos have given me the itch to fly again. thanks for sharing your experiences.
7:36 beautiful sunrise
Beautiful
Great video, to watch and for inspiration.
Love the Otto Pilot Pillow! Made me laugh the moment I saw it. I agree with you, that if you have not seen Airplane, the movie, you need to. So many jokes that have are now common place references and become part of aviation. Cheers from Winnipeg.
Great Video! Glad to see 991 back at it, and I know you are too! Be sure to move Otto a little bit side to side ever so often, he gets really bored staring straight ahead all day and night.
Amazing video, as always! I hope you had a wonderful time at that wedding! =)
It's so nice to see you up in N80991, it's such a great aircraft, how can you not love a Cessna? =P Keep up the good work, can't wait for your next video!
I grew up as the son of a milkman, often getting up at 3:00 am to help him deliver milk. Few people experience the beauty and joy of watching a new day being born. Your footage was gorgeous, Josh, and reminded me of my past experiences. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely loved it
We wanted to thank you for the Excellent video and wish you and your Family a happy healthy Christmas
Beautiful flight Josh. Great job.
After some really long nights flying in Afghanistan I always looked forward to the sun coming over the ridge and flipping up the NVGs. For a brief moment you could even say it was beautiful.
Nothings better than flying super early. At my flight school, there were tons of students so the practice area was always full of radio calls. Nobody wants to fly at 6am so i usually went up then. Silence and a beautiful sunrise!
Ha ha ha ha ha! I love the "Otto" seat cushion (or whatever it is). Hilarious!
Beautiful scenery and video as always. Thanks!
Amazing video. I am planning a trip soon after my final check ride. Thanks for such awesome content. Hope to see you at Osh Kosh 2020 and Sun n Fun!
OTTO!!!
Josh; amazing video. Thanks for sharing
A friend of mine had a very nice 172 , he wanted to take a trip , so we did . We left Orlando Exec. and worked our way to ElPaso . He wanted to go on , I told him no . We were flying over mountains in Jan. at night , not me . The next morning we made our way to messa Ari . Very nice trip . next day went to the grand canyon . Returned the next day to El Paso again . The weather was good . about 60 miles out we went IFR on top and it was getting dark , no problem but I got a bunch of IFR actual , kinda fun really . So long trips in a 172 is ok .
Nice one mate, great content as usual
I have had OTTO in my passenger spot for years on sim (Love it!)
Beautiful sunrise. Well worth the price of a little sleep.
Who says you have to get up early to enjoy the sunrise? My day is getting up as the sun is setting and the best is falling asleep after seeing the sunrise
Wonderful video. Flying into that sunrise is Spiritual.
As usual, excellent ATC communication and overall commentary.
Glad to hear that shes back in the air! Good old 80991!
Amazing shots! I wish I was a morning person.
Love your videos man!
Your cinematography keeps getting better and better.
You are an inspiration!
no words for that intro. Simply beautiful
Just wanted to say the editing in all your videos is impeccable!
That sunrise was amazing. Yet another reason for me to learn to fly!
Beautiful video with powerful editing!
Awesome!
Sunrises just feel different man
Beautiful amazing shot man
That copilot 😂 Love your videos!! Great production and fantastic flying!
Enjoyed the video and the comments on the W&B. Thx
This is great. Always look forward to your videos Josh. The only way I watch your videos is on my big screen TV!!
Yes definitely need flight planning video from start to finish with tools to use all on it own. Trying to compare with trucking and since am doing ppl next year need to know what am up against
Great VLog! Enjoyed it.
Hi Aviation 101... Nice video flying early time in sunrise good job mate have a good fly....
What an amazing video
Remarkable video
I've had the chance to fly with friends on sunset then sunrise in the same week above the Pyrénées in southern France, it really is georgous, and keep in mind that you can experience it even during aeronautical day, you don't necessarely need a night training to do that ! Mind you, you still need to respect the local sunrise time
Nicely done video.
Nice copilot haha! Keep the good work we love that! Greetings from France :)
Awesome video. I flew out of KHYI in 108VK (right behind in your video) when those Ospreys were taxing out on 07DEC!
FANTASTIC VIEW of Sunrise, I can imagine what it looks like in person AND NOT on video!
Very Nice!
Best regards from Brasil 🇧🇷
Great informative vid!
