Just came here from the most recent Vlogmas episode! AYOOO! I have a video topic I'd love to hear you speak towards! As a budget-minded environmentalist, your schpiel on wedding decor being reusable post-event is EVERYTHING. Would you ever do a video that shows one-use wedding objects and their alternatives that are still useful after the wedding? For example, a large vintage mirror with white board marker calligraphy (or peel-off decals) will go from "buffet table sign" to "home decor" way better than a normal painted buffet sign ever could. Your hallway runner is another perfect example. I see so many brides selling things after their wedding that are sadly way too wedding-specific to use afterwards. You can spend $50 on signs that say "Table 6" and then not know what to do with them, or you can spend that same $50 on frames (pop a number in them) that you can display photos in for years to come. Ya feel me? Pros and cons.
Exactly! I'm trying to buy everything with that frame in mind. My decor will be items I use to decorate my apartment afterwards (travel themed trinkets)
Amazing topic. I've been buying loads of stuff second hand (thrift stores and facebook marketplace) that I'd totally want to use in my house later on. Actually already using a ton of the things as home decor right now. I've also got a very specific list of things that I want to DIY to save money, such as my table numbers, because like you said, that's not something I want to invest a lot of money in because I won't use them later. I just bought the most beautiful rug for my future hubby and I to stand on during the ceremony and it's already on the floor in our bedroom now because I couldn't wait lol
Oh and something else I want to add is that my wedding is entirely disposable plastic free, except for one item, which is cocktail cups. For plates, we ordered a bunch of different sizes of palm leaf plates from karmic seed and they are going to look so cool.
If you really wana have fun, check out Aliexpress for these! And pretty much anything wedding related. Similar to Wish type stuff - all hit or miss so it's important to pay attention to reviews

The paper flowers are gorgeous!! Love that idea. Can you help me brainstorm some ideas for flower alternatives? I hate the thought of spending thousands of dollars on flowers that have no purpose after the wedding! Can you do a video on all the normal uses for flowers at a wedding? And give us alternative items to replace flowers? Maybe you could have a q&a with a florist. Sorry if this idea already exists but I haven’t seen one! I’m just so lost and you are my go-to wedding expert rn haha
We rented fake flowers for bouquets and boutonnieres and then just did fake greenery garlands and lanturns for centerpieces. All the bouquets cost about $300 total for the entire bridal party and greenery for 10 tables cost $100
suggestion: buy a tapestry!! depending on where you look, they can be decently inexpensive, and they also are super reusable for bedrooms or dining rooms.
Jamie! What a great video idea. I would love to see this turn into a series if it makes sense for you- as in you purchasing different items in different “categories” to see if they’re worth ordering- bridesmaid proposal boxes, bridal veils/headwear, those types of things! You would end up with a lot of wedding items so not sure if you have a way you could incorporate that into your business so they don’t go to waste afterwards 😂 but just an idea! As a regular viewer, I would totally click on those videos

I bought and used several of the fairy lights for my wedding and they were great for dividing up the community center while allowing it to feel large and open and they were great behind the sweethearts table.

Would you consider doing a video on alternatives to live florals? I've looked and there are so many options and places that offer them (Ling's Moment, wish, Amazon, etc). I'd love to see how these companies compare to live flowers. It would be amazing to know which ones are worth purchasing from!
