When it comes to your wedding day, you're not just celebrating your love story, but inviting your family and friends to be a part of the celebration as well! So, if you want to maximize the guest experience, follow these 9 key tips to ensure happy vibes all around.
1. The Date, Time, and Location. I know we don't all have unlimited resources when it comes to these factors, but if you have the option to, select a date not near a major holiday, a time that is feasible and reasonable for most involved, and a location that is convenient (or really worth it!).
2. The Weather. Don't plan an outdoor event if it'll be too hot or too cold! And don't forget the heaters. I know they're an added expense, but your guests will thank you for it.
3. The Parking. Parking should be close, accessible, and free or low cost.
4. The Timeliness. While there may be circumstances out of your control, starting on time sets the tone for the rest of your event.
5. The Entertainment. Hire a great DJ! They will make or break your event, and the good ones are worth their weight in gold if you wanna boogie in your blue suede shoes.
6. The Food. Feed your guests well! Make sure there's enough to go around, and try not to skimp on the appetizers.
7. The Booze. You don't need fancy cocktails or high end spirits to make your guests happy. Just make sure there are some options beyond water to pique your guests' interest. And avoid a cash bar if you can. But if not, know your guests are grateful for any amount of alcohol they can get their hands on!
8. The Flow. A good coordinator and a good DJ are clutch for this. They help to ensure the event flows smoothly from one detail to the next, and no one will notice a thing. And trust me. If guests don't notice anything, that's a GOOD thing.
9. The Connection. They came to celebrate with you! If you have the time, go around to each table and say

hello@wolferandco.com
I’m a DJ and I approve this message.
HalfKort Hi! Do you have any tips on how brides and grooms can screen for a good DJ? And a bad one? :) Thank you very much in advance!
@@heliosfromacrossastar878 Personally I'd go through all the reviews, or experiences you or people you know of which were good. Always check reviews
😂LOVE IT!
Ha lol
I’ve been reciting to my fiancé what guests don’t care about. I’m like we don’t need a cake, guest book or favors, and you don’t have to reach up my dress for my garter and I don’t have to throw my bouquet. Thanks for confirming this. What I took from this video is entertain and feed your people and keep that party going!! Haha
Elizabeth how was the wedding
Can you do a “come along with me to a wedding”???
1. Date, Time, Location
2. Weather
3. Parking
4. Timeliness
5. Entertainment
6. Food
7. Booze
8. Flow
9. Connection
Might as well summarize all her videos. Thank you :)
I want a cash bar so that it hopefully helps control the guests from drinking too much. 😂
I would definitely do that too. Last time I was at a wedding, a fight broke out between a couple drunks. Cops got called and party was cut short.
I've noticed open bars are much more important in the US than in the UK. In the US it means have around one drink an hour, in the UK an open bar means take as much as you can get! So in the UK we have drinks packages from the venue (eg. One at cocktail hour, 2 for dinner, one for toasts) and then the guests pay for their drinks during the party part of the reception.
Jamie Wolfer Sort of. In the UK you have the main wedding breakfast and then a buffet is usually expected in the evening. Would you say that in the US the food at cocktail hour is more important than party-time food?
German weddings usually have a few games in between. I organized a lottery for my brother in laws wedding that had everyone laughing. You could buy the tickets ( all proceeds for the happy couple) and could win "awesome " prizes. They are all pun based,so not all translate to English. Some of the prizes that do translate were a analog notebook ( college block with a pen ) ,a candlelight dinner ( can of soup and a candle) you get the idea we used it to fill the gap between the main meal and dessert
Tolle Idee! Was waren die anderen Preise? Ich würde sie gern wissen!
Yeah I was surprised that games are not so comon in other countries. We got married in my husbands home country and they would have very disturbed by playing games haha 😄😄
I am about to marry and am planning the game @jane Smith was waren die Preise und wie hast du die Lotterie genannt ?
Great ideas!!!!
Good idea
I find it interesting that you say cash bar is a no-no. In the UK, a cash bar is very common and it work's very well. I haven't yet been to a British wedding with an open bar. Usually, there is free wine and champagne but the guests have to pay for any more drinking (British people drink a lot!). I'm originally Nigerian and my Fiance is British. In Nigeria, you can't let your guests pay for drinks during your wedding whereas in England it is very much the norm. We have decided to meet half way on it.
Cynthia Adu I’m so glad you confirmed this! I was feeling so guilty about the bar !
However in states this is highly frowned upon, I've been to 12 weddings and all have been open bar. The only variables being is just beer and wine as opposed to liquor. Then once liquor is added whether is bottom, middle, or top shelf.
It's considered tacky in the US
It's the same in South Africa. Most weddings serve wine & sometimes beer, but everything else you'll have to pay for.
Cynthia Adu open bars are very rare, unheard of really, here in Ireland too - if we had open bars weddings would get super messy super quickly!
Can you do ”Wedding game/entertainment ideas”? Love your channel😀
Last few weddings we've gone to did not have alcohol other than the wedding party toast. Event program, one per table if there is something tricky such as service inside, outside for cocktails, inside again for the reception. The last one all guests toasted with a sparkly. Everyone still had a good time and no drama or dui concerns. I drove 13 hours to attend the last one, held at a chic barn in a very small town. This is all good information.
Yess, I feel touched/humbled if the bride interacts/acknowledges u 😅
I feel as though the bride and groom should go around together
Daughter just got engaged! I’m watching all of your CZcams and downloaded all your podcasts. My wedding was nothing like hers will be (95% all her and the grooms ideas) and I need all the help I can get to keep her sane.💗💗I’m so happy her dad and I can help her.
I was at a destination wedding where they planned an outdoor wedding and reception. As the reception was about to start, it started raining. Since we were at an all-inclusive resort, a bunch of us basically just ducked into the closest restaurant and started chatting over (free since the resort was all-inclusive) alcoholic drinks until they were able to get the reception set up at a conference room inside. It was actually a nice way to get to know some people. Didn't ruin the experience at all. Also, I'm surprised to hear that people care about the DJ. Unless the only music was rap the entire night, I wouldn't notice the difference.
I live in Scotland and have never been to a wedding without a cash bar. Personally I would rather pay for my drinks and get what I like rather than having only beer and wine as an option which I don't like and would probably leave early. Its super common here to have a cash bar. Also the grooms father typically buys the first round.
However at my wedding a cash bar will be present at night but up until after the meal we will have alcohol that we have supplied and juice so guests can have some drinks for free.
1:24 Now I wanna plan a pajama party wedding. Not for myself, but just to mess about with in the back of my head for fun.
My (ex) wife and I had an outdoor wedding on December 6, in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. We got pretty lucky that the weather wasn't terrible. It had very light snow falling. But Canadians are a hardy bunch as well, that know how to come prepared for cold weather. We also had a large bonfire burning near the front to keep people warm, and everyone was served hot chocolate or tea on the way out to the ceremony. It worked amazing. But I could DEFINITELY see where it wouldn't work. Thankfully, if the weather didn't cooperate, we had a venue that would serve as our ceremony place as well.
I live on a tropical island- when my mom anounced her wedding was going to be in america- all the guest were so excited
So I just discovered your page yesterday and honestly you have been a God send in helping me plan my wedding. I just go engaged last month and was scrambling for some clarity in all of this wedding haze. Thank you soo much!
⭐Connections / Receiving line alternative: Receiving Lines for guests can take a long time, and create some anxious energies. An alternative is for you and your sweetheart to usher people out and you get to have a little connection with each person before sending them ahead to the reception where hors d'oeuvres are waiting to satisfy their rumbling tummies.
We did it with a sanctuary of about 150 guests. We were surprised that it took about 10mins to file everyone out. Plus they got to snack on yummy food while photos were being done
I'm super digging your videos!
By far my favorite wedding CZcamsr! Thanks so much for your input and realness!

Hi Jamie, I can not begin to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I absolutely LOVE them and I watch them while cleaning, cooking etc. Your videos are extremely informative and also are "HILARIOUS" most of the time. You are NOT just a Wedding planner. You have become a household name. I am going to recommend that my sister (who is my personal Wedding Coordinator) watches these videos as I feel that you are an experienced professional that can help in guiding those of us who need help in putting this altogether. After my wedding, I will continue to watch them and wish so so much that you lived in my neck of the woods so that I could meet you in person. Thank you for offering your experiences and knowledge and in such a pleasant way. P.s. Please continue to produce these videos, they really are necessary and enjoyable. T :)
My wedding is in about a month and I am so glad I found this! Just watch this video and the 12 things guest don't care about and it was very helpful thanks! I was on the edge between making programs or not and now Im glad I don't have to feel like people will care. Also, we decided a 1 hour open bar and then the rest of the night the bar tender is there for people to buy their own drinks.
I am not even engaged (or even in a super serious relationship) but i just stumbled across your page & I want you to be my wedding planner wow!
I'm a bride planning a wedding, and your videos have been so helpful! Thanks for posting 😊
This was helpful thanks!
Love your videos! This one is so helpful. I totally agree from a guest standpoint and it is not too difficult to plan as a bride!
Your CZcams channel is an actual GOLD mine for me planning my february wedding. Thank YOU for sharing your knowledge.
I appreciate your videos. Just for the fact that I am realizing, I don't want a wedding. They are very interesting and all but really not for all people.
I have seen 100% of your videos and I get antsy waiting for more. Your ability to be a down to earth strange-child makes me so happy and slightly jealous. I love your content
We are having our wedding in August in Florida. We are having both our ceremony and reception at the same massive location. I absolutely loved your suggestions.
Thank you for all of your fabulous advice! Have been planning my daughter's wedding for the last 10 months...just found you
LOVE this video... so much great info for brides here. :)
Do you have a top ten list of the best wedding buffet foods/dishes.
Noah your channel has grown so much so fast!
lol I love your personality & this video was very informative!!
GREAT VIDEO JAMIE!!!!
Watching you being excited about almost 1K subscribers and now you’re at 109k is amazing! I’m getting married in April and this is super helpful.
I love your videos! I recently got engaged and not a lot of my friends are engaged or married yet so I'm freaking out trying to plan our wedding lol your videos are an awesome start so thank you! :)
You are such a great presenter!
I love all your videos! As a newly engaged woman it's so stressful to plan a wedding when I know nothing about the industry. You take some of that stress away. I'm so glad I found your channel! P.s. what are your opinions on things like excluding kids from the wedding or having a Spotify playlist in leu of a DJ? Thanks!
Perfect video! very interesting points!
The last wedding I went to, the groom (my friend) came over and chatted with me for a while. It was nice. I appreciated that. I know he had a lot of people to talk to.
Thank you Jamie!
Jamie your awsome,, your information is on point... thanks
As the mom of two adult children, one of who I anticipate will be planning a wedding within the next couple of years, I adore your channel!. I watched with glee you video about 12 things your guests don't give a flying fart about as we eliminated almost all of them (we had a guest book as it was gifted to us, but I think that may have been the only one we had). I agree wholeheartedly with your approach to wedding planning. Wish you were in Toronto or Ottawa (my daughter's wedding will take place in one of those cities unless she chooses a destination wedding, which I will discourage). Thanks for your candid and enthusiastic videos!
Oh Jamie, I love your hair here. Color and style. Gives you a youthful and playful vibe. Your face is stunning.
Yaaassss 🙌 I feel so validated right now lol I have been saying this is all I really care about and favors and linens dont matter but now I feel more confident about this
Perfect video. It's very rare that I agree 100% with a CZcamsr!!!!
Getting married next week! Just making sure I didn’t forget anything to keep my guests happy! I had to fire my first wedding planner, I’m glad to say my second wedding planner is AMAZING!! I highly recommend looking for recommended people, it makes a world of a difference. We also paid extra for the best DJ. I’m getting more excited for the big day to come! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for these videos! I truly appreciate them. I have been stressing since we booked the venue in February and your videos opened my eyes on what to truly focus on and what I can save my money with 🙌 my wedding day is December 20th of this year and will most certainly be using your videos as a guide 🤍
I can't wait for my big day! I never thought I would get married (like for real), I dreamed about it but not that much either... Your videos have really helped me so far!
Jamie, you’ve helped me so much in planning my wedding! Thank you so much for making videos! 07/25/2020 🥰
I live in Irvine and I seriously lost it when I found out how close you were I found your videos a week after I got engaged and because of you I knew I needed a day of coordinator so I made sure I was able to squeeze one into my budget
Hey! You’re over 1000! 1024 to be exact! Congratulations! You deserve it!
Wedding DJ here! You rock!
1 thousand subscribers to 36k in one year! you go girl! thanks for all the tips!
Talking to every guest is very important
I've been getting really overwhelmed with wedding planning and loved this video! It helped me get back on track & focus on what matters :)
Great video!! I watched the other one as well about what the guests don’t care about. Very helpful!!
I am actually a newly wed and my best friend and my brother in law met at our wedding and now THEY are getting married!! What a love story to be had!! I’m still enamored at the thought.
Anyway. So, the one thing that I couldn’t and wouldn’t do without (and having just went through our wedding recently, I definitely know what I would and wouldn’t do...like an outdoor barn wedding in early September in the Midwest. We were dying from heat stroke but our photographer was a gem, the photos don’t give it away at all.)
What I want to ask, my BBF said that she is going to just have someone else “be in charge of music,” but I definitely agree with you that I would NOT do without a DJ and our DJ was A-MAZING. He came to the rehearsal and even put together a bunch of Christian songs even though he wasn’t at all familiar with them before and it was so perfect! AND my dad couldn’t make it to rehearsal so he acted as the “stand in” for my dad which was just so awesome!!
My question (finally)
How do I tell her that I would spend the money on the DJ? He was only $600 too. And I’m telling you. He was BOMB! I almost want to ask her if I can pay for him just so she can have it taken care of........
Let me know what you think!!
That story made me cry tears of joy and I dont even know your friend. 😭❤
Yey new video!
Fun! Thanks for the tips.
My wedding is in a month in Punta Cana!
Awww I’m watching this at 80k subscribers!!! You’ve grown so much!
This sounds like a stereotypical asian wedding. My parents were adamant on have the Chinese style catering which included 5 courses and bottomless beer and wine as well as 1 bottle of spirit (Hennessy) on each table. It was also customary we go to each table take a photo with everyone and have a drink before moving on. My mom said everyone will remember and talk about the food decades later if its good or bad... 😂
I appreciate you mentioning good ideas as to what to serve for a alcohol free wedding. We are doing one and I didn't want to do just pop and water.
Aiming for May 30, 2020, Accuweather says the average temperature is 55-71 degree (perfecttttt) ... 50-65 miles for both families. So excited. This video was helpful.
