It might be the crispiest chicken sandwich I’ve tried yet, and the zing and the heat from that mayo are just sensational! For the chicken marinade
4 chicken breasts
2 cup buttermilk
2tsp paprika
2tsp cayenne pepper
Pinch of salt & pepper
2tbsp hot sauce (Louisiana one if you can)
For the chicken coating
360g plain flour
150g cornflour
3tbsp paprika
3tbsp garlic powder
3tbsp onion powder
3tbsp cajun seasoning
3tbsp cayenne pepper
2tsp salt
2tsp pepper
Oil for frying, ideally vegetable oil
For the spicy Mayo
350g mayo
4tbsp hot sauce (Louisiana one if you can)
4tsp paprika
4tsp cajun seasoning

Hey folks! Wow, thanks so much for the feedback - i've tried to reply to as many of you as I can. Of course it is always interesting when I (just talking from experience!) attempt to do something that I would like to try and achieve - perhaps evolve in some way and free myself up to ultimately make more for you guys! This isn't the end of the style you are used to, we are just experimenting at the moment trying to get the balance right and really welcome all of your opinions. It was not scripted at all, I guess the lights and camera help gives that impression, but it was honestly super refreshing for me to try this new style and physically it's been really nice for my back. All I will ask is that you give us time to take on board your feedback and perhaps try to find that right balance - it's quite strange for me too! We'll get there, my hope in doing this is to get more of my friends and family on camera too, something i've always enjoyed, I feel it's important to freshen things up, whilst my USP could be classed as the guy that self-shoots in his kitchen in the past, I much prefer the element that it's a guy just giving the recipes / foodie things a try and perhaps the cameras make that pro look seem relatable but I really aim to still be just me. I'd also ask that you consider there is a person behind the comments that have been put, it's mostly been polite, I can take it lol but it would not be fair to assume this is suddenly a 100 team setup - I never want it to be that, but there's certainly a balance to be found I agree. I respect all of your comments and hope we can find that sweetspot, be that adding a 'Barry cam' or me doing the odd old school video too, but all I can say the last couple of weeks has been super refreshing for me to try something new, sure I could keep doing the same thing forever, but that could get stale for you guys too, let alone me! Respect you want to try something new, but I do fear you making the same decision as other CZcamsrs who try and completely change what made them so likeable originally and end up being very standard and unoriginal. If people want to watch high production cooking shows, they watch TV shows. The biggest mistake you can make is forgetting what allowed your account to grow, I mentioned already in the comments that there was a BBQ account which was very comforting and sweet. A simple guy doing BBQ videos in his backyard, he got a little big excited it seems by subs and viewership (was around 30-50k per video) and he switched up exactly in this overly produced style and shocker his audience disappeared and he got 2-5k views. He eventually changed back but it was too late. I'd hate for this channel to face the same problems. It's great you're listening to feedback, most is all with love including me. I wouldn't bother writing this if I didn't think so highly of you. People are creatures of habit and like what they like. This video is targeted at a completely different audience to what you have and that audience you're targeting already have channels that they're subbed too.
Barry I think the sweet spot is probably 90% your old style, 10% this.
The editing was probably the most jarring. The constant inserts and memes were terrible and extremely obnoxious. It's like you make a joke and the editor sticks something on screen to represent that. We don't need the joke explained to us lol we are not thick. You just know when Barry does the Seal joke they will cut to a clip of Seal singing, basically ruining the joke
I would remove all that stuff, it is awful. Slow the pace right down. None of this 50 cuts a second. Make it nicely shot but tell your editor to edit it like you used too. That will save your back and keep people happy. Then start adding in more things, just very slowly. This was just a way to big drastic change from your normal style that we are used to.
I think what I and others thought when you talked about adding behind the scenes people it would basically be very similar but better filmed. Not completely change everything.
I'm glad you can take a positive attitude to the feedback - we're all fans here, so our hearts are in the right place!
I think the reason some people felt it seemed scripted is because your demeanour is noticeably different in this video... It feels a little less casual and a little more forced.
It might just be some slight awkwardness adjusting to the new setup, but I think it's partly because of the change from just being you and the camera compared to when someone else is in the room with you to operate it. If that's the case, the dynamic is going to change as you get used to working together, and I think people will definitely see a change in coming videos. It's never an issue in videos with the family, because you're so relaxed with them that you behave exactly the same as when it's just you.

Barry, I watch your videos because of the homeliness that comes across. I love the way you present and that you are so inclusive with your family. Don’t lose that. I can watch a Barry video on any subject whether it interests me or not. Don’t get too slick. Please don’t. There are hundreds of soulless, slick channels out there. But who do I keep coming back to. By all means try new methods and ideas. Just don’t stray to far. 😊
Hi Barry, Long time viewer here. Been watching you with my wife for years and while I’ll always enjoy watching you have fun with a project, this new editing style isn’t good. It’s not that it is a bad style - it’s just not a style that captures the Barry Lewis charm. Refining it won’t change anything, because it’s not a charming style for your content - everything in the video looked very clean and professional… As if you were a tv cook hosting your own show.
But that’s not what your core audience watches you for. We watch these videos because it feels like we’re in the kitchen with you, just having a laugh and making something for fun.
That’s the Barry Lewis charm. The amateurish camera angles, minor lighting, the sounds of you putting down utensils, knocking over a bowl or chopping something, the focus on what you’re doing and respecting it even if it’s goofy without breaking it up with memes, gifs or unrelated sound bites… that’s your winning formula and what really engages the people who have watched you this long.
This video is lacking the crucial element you’ve been giving your other videos: Life. It is simply overproduced and entirely too professional.
Mind you I do think you should have an editor - editing these videos takes ages and you deserve the extra hours an editor gives you, but I think finding an editor with a more amateurish and charming editing style would suit your content much better. Of course if your new editor is capable of changing style to a more homely format, that would be fine too.

I think if he has someone doing the editing for him is ok, but the person needs to adapt to Barrie's style rather than doing it all new and unpersonal.
I also did read a comment from a person who got sick watching this video because of the constant switching camera angles.
Maybe stuff like this should be taken into consideration too.
I get your point of view, but if this new style get's him more new viewers that helps him. Keeping relevance while growing his channel to better care for his family in this rough round the world economic time. Then I say Barry needs to do what works for him, and we just need to keep supporting him anyways. The younger generations seem to want this rapid moving dramatic showman ship in their video content. I got to go with what is best for this good man's family; as I would for yours.

I really do appreciate the work that has gone in to the increased production quality, but I also kind of miss chilling with you in the kitchen
it reminds me of the short lived time Barry got a studio and camera man, the production quality went way up but it was a huge expense and wasnt feasible in the end.

You can tell you've been watching Barry Lewis for years when you recognise change within 3 seconds - I love your original format, it's comforting - this editing is just too distracting, I love your videos because it's just a simple man doing simple things, it's relatable.
Barry said some time ago that he would get someone to help him record and stuff. I don't really know if that had anything to do with the editing style, but it is a possibility.
A very simple man. It may be that a new editor/cameraguy will keep him relevant vs the sad decline in his view numbers that has been going on for years. Also, where's the pizzeria?
@@AntonGully When Covid hit he couldnt justify taking the risk of the pizzeria. I think that's when he built his back garden kitchen instead.
The new style is aweful. I really hope Barry reads the comments and sees that this new style of videos is awful!

I agree. The “stying”, especially the bit near the end where a third of the screen is dark, takes away much of the charm that makes your channel so much fun to watch. I understand that filming and editing your videos is laborious, so having someone else do that makes sense, but it looks slick and highly produced now, as if it were a network program and that’s not appealing to me because your personality is what makes your channel great. The person doing the filming and editing may want to consider dialing the seemingly cool and creative tendencies way back, while introducing changes at a much slower pace.
Reminds me of Jamie Oliver with the moving camera and music. 30 minute meals was good. Do prefer the original editing style but there you go, things take getting used to
Agreed, I can see what you’re trying to do with the new style / but it’s lost your uniqueness in my mind. Makes it a bit like how they do generic cooking shows mate. Me and my daughter watch all your vids..
Hi Barry, firstly, the burger does look excellent so fair play on that front. Secondly, it must be disheartening to see everyone's feedback on the new video style, but please take it as testament that we all liked your videos because of the little quirks and parts of your personality that we're so used to with the regular format!
Obviously the editing is great but I think the issue is, it makes the video more like an instructional video. Whereas the main reason I personally enjoy your channel is to watch you experiment in the kitchen, not just a standard 'how to' video. We don't need all the B-roll or quick shots, because it makes the bits we enjoy feel a bit insincere, which are the dad jokes and you messing around with the camera. Also, we love seeing Mrs B and the girls get involved and it feels like this format isn't really suited to that. Hope you don't take this feedback the wrong way, appreciate you trying to change it up for the viewers, but regular vids are better
Another long time subscriber/viewer from the MVK days. Just had to add my voice to the "not my thing" crowd in relation to the new editing style. Barry Lewis is a brand and the channel has an identity that is unique... Barry Lewis is your USP.
The one thing the Barry Lewis channel isn't is "professional", and I I don't mean that in a derogatory way. People watch you because it's like watching ourselves "if Barry can do it, anyone can do it....".
We love your human side, we love your personality, we love your silly mistakes. This video lacked all of that, you could throw any generic presenter into this video and it would be the same.
By all means get help with filming and editing the content. But whoever you choose to do that needs to understand the Barry Lewis style and adapt to you... Changing the identity of the channel will be a huge mistake.
You are approachable, welcoming, funny... It's like I've just popped in for a coffee while you're creating something in the kitchen. You're talking to me and we're having a laugh together.
It's simple, one camera on a tripod, basic lighting... No fast cuts and jaunty camera angels. Keep it simple.
It's not that the new style is bad, whoever did it is very accomplished. It's a really slick well produced video... It's just not you!
It also felt far too scripted, the jokes were forced, it wasn't natural or improvised enough.
Please take all the feedback you've received as constructive criticism and said with love. Go back to the simple point and shoot style, have someone help you edit it once they've learnt the Barry Brand...

You could actually make this video a youtube advert for popeyes. It felt very over produced and scripted.
Right, I'm one of those that I can be somewhere random and hear someone say "seal" and I "bai-hia", or well, and I go into now you make me want to shout, cause it's always been about just having fun with your buddy Barry in the kitchen. This was a 10 minute advert for Popeyes.
Barry as someone who has been religiously watching your content for a good few years now, i know this was a direction you wanted to head in and you wanted the more professional set up with the kitchen, a camera person to help your back and make your food look even better, and all of the rest! So i am super glad you are achieving your dreams on what you want your content to be! It must feel great and so rewarding! The quality of this video is great, it feels very high quality!
With that being said though, as others have said (and i have seen your responses to) the editing is just a bit much for me personally. I'm quite sensitive to lights, sounds and movements, and kinda all the crazy, in your face edits, it's just making it hard for me to watch the video as 6 minutes in i have a bit of a headache from all the things on screen and some of the trippier edits. I think just going from your quiet, laid back, calm, home style content to this was a very big jump! I respect it is the first go around, but for me it's just a bit too much. Though this is also personal taste, i know especially for younger people and to get attention in this modern era, you need to kinda have all these fast cuts and flashy edits to draw in people and keep attention. But I'm 27 going on 80, I'm an old man, i strictly watch content creators who are more quiet, laid back, calmer in personality and on edits, because that's how i am as a person and that's the environments i like to be in, so i personally never will like that style of video, but that's just me as a person.
I also don't overly mean this in a negative way, but before, the way you spoke kinda felt like you were inviting us into your home to cook along with you, where as in this video you come more across as presenting something. Though that may be the new style just making you feel different in my mind haha
I don't like being negative, especially about another persons passion project, so i am sorry this is. Just yeah, for you I'm happy! For me it was a bit of a miss!

But I also think (or hope!) that they know i've been teasing that I need help for a while now due to my back hurting from all those Years of hunching over! For me to evolve and stay excited it's important for me to freshen things up!

I just watched this and then immediately watched the previous video to compare the editing/presentation style. And I have to say I agree with a lot of the comments, in that I prefer the old format! The old style seemed a lot more personal and real. The new format seemed a lot more scripted and less about Barry. Maybe it’s just because I haven’t adjusted to the new format yet. Either way I’ll continue to watch and subscribe and maybe seeing mrs B in the next one might sway my thinking. Keep up the good work Barry 👍🏼

So we are officially in the barry lewis 2.0 era of vids. i knew the transition was coming but boy today took me off guard. now just waiting for the kitchen transition now. Not going to lie but it just feels like this new editing style has got it ready to just copy and paste into tiktok and Instagram.

However….you knew this was coming didn’t you?…. I think the reason why we all fell in love with you is because your videos made us feel like we were literally with you, hanging out in your kitchen having a laugh and watching you cook/test gadgets etc. And as perfect as you are for tv (and god I hope you get your own show soon) your channel feels personal and accessible. As soon as you add these layers of production, they inevitably will put a little distance between you and us. And as good as this video is, it’s a little sad because it feels like we’re losing you a tiny bit. Hope that makes sense?
But you’ve got to do you and I for one won’t stop watching. And like everything else, I guess we’ll get used to it.
Maybe this time next year we’ll have all forgotten what all the fuss was about.

I'm already missing the guerilla style filming that's become your trademark over the years. This seemed almost too commercial and like a giant product placement trail for Popeyes and Sainsbury's.
Same. I felt like I was watching some mid 00s channel 4 early afternoon cooking show. It felt really dated and fake.
Yeah sadly if he goes this way I feel like he loses what made his channel special. Now he's just another over produced cooking channel with editing for people with 5 second attention spans.
@@TranscendentalAirwaves I think so too. It loses that slightly corny guy in his kitchen trying to teach you how to cook. It didn't help that he seemed really awkward and like he was playing it up for the camera. It just felt really fake. I hope he'll find a middle ground between how he used to be and the new stuff if he does need help filming. Also the lighting made it all feel set like.
@@emmalowe1132 Yeah plus it's really obvious someone bumped up the contrast / did a bit of post production work on the footage from the camera. It's unnaturally sharp looking.
Love this recipe- going to try it in air fryer. Very professional looking video, nicely done. I do miss the feeling that you are just in your kitchen trying things out with the viewers, I feel a little of that is lost with new style. Times change though and I’ll stick with ya whichever video style you go with.
That's a fair point though and one I am not keen to lose, we'll work at that side of it! I'm not trying or ever wish to be a chef, but doesn't mean it can't look good! I was literally drooling at the chicken!

I'm excited for you achieving your dreams of having a high quality production.
Personally I enjoy the process of cooking with you. Seeing the trial and error and being in your home is what gives your videos such a charm and makes you stand out among the loads of other food channels out there that seemingly make everything perfect the first time around. Your channel is the real deal and makes me and many others believe we can achieve success in the kitchen right along side you.
You have a forever fan here no matter what direction you decide to go because at the end of the day it is your channel and seeing you grow from nearly the very start has been such a wonderful ride.
Don’t get me wrong, the editor has done a great job. It just doesn’t feel like the Barry videos I love. I will always be a fan, but the doesn’t seem like you.
Both my wife and I have greatly enjoyed your videos for years. You became a big part of our routine during Covid as we saw someone with their family pushing through the pandemic like we were (I was making a conscious effort at the time to learn to cook and I tried out a good number of recipes you created at the time). We loved the fact that that the videos were someone cooking in their home kitchen like we do. This move to a slicker production product moves away from the reason we started watching and enjoying your videos. I understand you want to go bigger and better but we just feel like this video shows us that it's the end of an era. If this is how the show will be from now on it's likely not going to be for us anymore. You were always unique. This isn't unique. This is just like a thousand other slick you tube cooking shows out there.

I love this channel… not a fan of the new editing style… previous style felt more approachable and welcoming. This style just feels soulless and corporate. Hope it’s not a permeant change to the channel!

We know how much work and effort you put into bringing us fresh, new and exciting content Barry, and we really do appreciate it. I think people are having a mixed reaction to this new format because it strays away from what you started this journey with. The poached egg video had this aura and charisma that your videos have never lossed throughout your time on youtube. I know its your channel and you have a vision but us as fans like Barry, the original barry.

vegan and yes, smoked paprika can liven up the dullest and worst of all the vegan cheeses there are out there. it's now the 3rd most bought spice in the kitchen (the other two are salt and garlic granules). a highly understated spice indeed - and one that's only generally used with other spices, when, on it's own, it can be a beacon of light in the darkness. and I feel folk get a little intimidated by when it comes to using something other than salt & pepper. I'm having beans on toast later. paprika will be involved in the beans and the cheese! 😋
You're perfectly entitled as a creator to try out new styles of presenting!!!!! And I'm really enjoying your experimenting. And always appreciate a nice bit of cinematography! Really class, keep up the good work. I have been watching you Barry for many years, when you only had a wee, teeny, tiny audience and I love that you are finally allowing yourself to have some help for once. Some people will have negative, knee jerk reactions to the new style, which is unfortunately, pretty common. But just do what you feel is right for you and your family. Take it from someone who has had 2 very dodgy spine surgeries on the NHS.....you don't want to mess about with your spine. I love the new style and am very much looking forward to what is coming next. Lee :)

Barry, you have to do what you need and reading your replies, it seems like your back and sanity will benefit from having someone in the kitchen, helping you out.
I’ll agree the production value felt higher, but I don’t see any loss of “charm” at all.
Please don’t (I know you will!) sit up, worrying what people who enjoy your content for FREE will do. They will either watch or not, but we cannot watch someone who can’t be in the kitchen for back and mental health issues.

Whether that is the older style, or the new polished version, our little family will still watch everything you make, and I’m sure I won’t be alone!
I enjoy the videos where you talk to us as you do the steps. Not a voice over. There's tons of professional looking videos on the internet but yours are something else when you use the old style of recording. Feels homey. Feels warm. This felt a little cold to me. Still a supporter though.

@@mrbarrylewis of course you can geezer, but all the production etc, just felt too generic in terms of presentation. Love when the tripod would fall over etc. another channel I liked have done the same thing, lost interest in that one after a while as it was too over produced
Just finished the video and the only thing I think the new style has lost is the feeling that you’re doing this for the first time with us watching along. Giving suggestions and alternatives along the way. The failures make it human.
Love you and will keep watching. Not crazy about the sound design, and we need more Barry Chaos!
Hmm....not a personal fan of the new editing style and having someone else film it, personally prefer the older self filmed, homely style, where it's more laidback and feels more genuine. But that's just me....

That's alright I imagine it's quite a shock for it to be in focus lol I'm not getting any younger and to have the help like this is really helping my back lol don't worry we'll get some classic Barry scenes / angles in ones coming up, if everyone loved it i'd be disappointed!

After a few seconds in i tought WAIT A MOMENT something is different! I will be honest , for me it will be some time getting used to because I just adore your before "home right out of the kitchen feel" of the videos but I´m here for your personality and joy and kindness and great , fun , crazy recipes and the kitchen gadget and we dont want to forget the pug!!

I'm probably not saying anything new here, but my biggest issue with this style is (and I mean this in the best possible way) you look like you know exactly what you're doing. One of your biggest draws was how you try something new and bring us along for the ride, and neither of us know how it'll turn out. It was fun, and it felt genuine. I know you say this wasn't scripted, but within the first couple of minutes, it felt like you invented this recipe and knew exactly what you were doing. It doesn't really feel much different to many other cooking channels/TV shows. Please don't lose what made you unique and so popular.
The new editing and style just feels like everything else on youtube now. It also feels really rushed through
Im not sure about the new style of video. The old way made it seem like you were a normal bloke trying new cooking ideas, which worked out great for you and this channel. I will keep watching you, just something i will need to get use to :)
Or something I can tweak to get the balance right! Maybe i'll try to show more of those, um wtf moments and still show that just because it looks good, doesn't mean i'm suddenly Hugh Finely Ramsay Oliver

I think what sums it up best is that changing to this editing and production style makes you like every other cooking CZcamsr/Tiktok and removes a lot of what makes it Barry.
Idk about the editing seems like the old barry charm is lost but i really enjoy the fancy new camera angles and close ups.
I think Barry is forgetting we dont just come to watch his recipes, wcome to hang out with him in the kitchen and have a laugh. Yes the food looked great but we missed Barry 😢

The new creators are so talented with their editing. I love that you are blending the old with the new editing style. Just keeps everything current with the trend. I would like to see more shorts though. I have subscribed to so many creators because of the shorts. You’re so close to 1 million subscribers. I think the shorts will get you there quickly. Have been with u since the beginning. I am always happy to see a new video reminder. All the best.
Hey Barry, great of you to experiment with a different format. There is some feedback I'd like to provide.
I completely understand you calling in extra help with filming and not wanting to hunch over so much. That's all good. But I think it's important to keep in mind that most of your fans don't watch your videos just to get recipes. They want to feel like they're hanging out in the kitchen with you. We wanna see you experiment and try new things and watch you fail hilariously at times. Hope you can find a balance that works for you and your health but will still make the videos feel approachable since this channel has always been about getting people into the kitchen.
This video filming format really stressed me out 😅😅 i'm sure i'll get used to it and good to see you experimenting :)
I love thé high quality of your food styling and photography/videography! I can definitely see the growth 🎉, however much like a lot of other viewers I do truly miss the casual banter and more homey relatable feel of your older styled videos as they felt more trial and error bound, more like we were along for the ride. Glad to see you step out your boundaries Barry! Keep trying I know you’ll strike that balance!

That's ok you are welcome to your opinion I don't expect everyone to love it! I do find it interesting as in the past I would grab the camera and spin it around the room without a tripod and nobody felt sick lol We'll keep working away, this is the best feedback honest

Having someone else in the room really amps up the energy and I loved seeing the sexies, but I must admit that the quick fire angle shifts and push ins one after the other did make me feel a little queasy. It'll take some getting used to.
That's ok, to be honest we did take a few of those out too so there could have been more, it's all about finding a balance :)

This feels so rushed which is so unfortunate. Your videos are amazing becuase of your charisma and personality you bring to the videos. I love your videos absolutely adore them but could be unpopular opinion i hope this style of editing doesnt carry on i love your recent/old videos but this one was a bit off appologies its constructive criticism!!
As a long time viewer, I have been waiting for the Popeyes chicken sandwich video and you nailed it. It’s wild to see how far you’ve come over the years, Barry. I’m so glad that years later you’re still having fun making cooking videos. I was a senior in high school and a day shy of my 18th birthday when you were introduced on Jamie Oliver’s channel and I’ve been hooked ever since. You definitely make cooking fun and made college meals fun. Here’s to many more years!

One of the best things about your videos is the way it felt like you were speaking directly to the audience and this has been lost a little with the different camera angles. The quality of the picture was great but I agree with others that it would have been good to meet the cameraman to mitigate tge disconnect between us and you. Love what you do.
That's super good feedback, we've shot a couple of videos already but we can take this going forward and get the balance just right I hope. I'd love to stay the same forever, but there's a reason a lot of folks don't, you have to evolve to keep the passion burning... let us find that balance i'm sure we'll find a mix between the two styles.

I don't know if I like having Barry's vids look like any other CZcams cooking channel. I like the more chaotic nature.
Definitely need to try this out, as Popeye's chicken sandwich is soooo good.
The idea of a two camera setup works will, both cameras catching the action. If you keep the main camera for the ' professional instructions' and the side camera for more relaxed free form jokes as if that's were we are standing. It maybe a little bit more comfortable for you.
Yeah or even just on the food to focus on the steps, we'll get there! It's exciting really, I could just get help filming my old style and play around with that but it wouldn't be the best use of Cam's skillset

The mayo combo is awesome, we make something similar for our chicken salad sandwich... The kick from the hot sauce is nice... Have you tried doing Fresh vs frozen in this day with the Microwave reheat options...

I came here to leave my 2 pence on the new editing style. Seen that many other people feel the same and the response seems to be that the channel will be going to this really artificial production. Please reconsider I really wont be watching anymore without the barry lewis charm. You are so unique and charismatic dont become just another cog in the youtube machine. 😢

I think one of the great things about your content is that it felt real and felt like you were experimenting in the kitchen with your mates. These types of super polished, loud music, spinning food pic at the end video are ten a penny already.

As a fan for a few years now( I found you when Barshens was still around, I think, life sort of all blends together)
I love that you have a camera man and are pushing for a more professional look, but I hope you do not let the influence of others change what makes you Barry. I don't enjoy popular cooking channels like Josh Weissman because of the sporadic camera movement and overly edited videos, and find it to be too all over the place like I'm a baby having keys jingled in front of my face.
I am here to see Barry Lewis, not his editor. The editing and camera work should compliment your style, not the other way around. It just feels like we are losing Barry and gaining a dime a dozen food youtuber.
I look forward to seeing where this is headed, ultimately I hope you can find a new style without losing yourself.

Hey Barry, I'm glad to see you've got some help now! Little feedback from me would be that the quality of the camera was great, everything looked stunning. There were too many cuts on angles and I really disliked the shots where you could mostly see the camera whilst trying to watch you. I also think that this video came across as a how to rather than a cook with me but not sure how to explain that. The sexies (sorted food term) looked amazing, I'd love for you to keep that part in.
I'm so happy for you taking this next step and hope that you and your editor continue to make the videos better. One last thing, I love your jokes but thought that they got lost when the editor was trying too hard to make a new joke straight after.
You nailed it with the: it looked more like a tutorial than a.. Let's cook this together and see how it turns out. I'm not sure most of his audience are subscribed to see bon appite type recipes but more so for a cook along with Barry as though your standing their with him and can relate to.
I thought the new editing was pretty satisfying, so there's at least some of us. Made this a very easy episode to watch, Barry! Don't totally ignore the naysayers but this is a good product too. Been following since Barshens.

I would say that this may be one of the clearest recipes i've done in a while in terms of steps and seeing what's going on. I hope my personality stayed the same, there was certainly plenty of Dad jokes - maybe too many!

I grew up on Popeyes and it was the best. You have taken it to the next level and somebody should show Popeyes this video to teach them how to build their sandwiches right.
The new filming style gives me Sorted Food vibes! (Love them) the spinning close-ups of the food is a great addition. Not sure how I feel about the more professional quality as I loved just Barry in the kitchen doing your thing, it was very relatable, but hopefully this is a pleasant change for you and I’m sure us long time fans will continue to support the channel🙌🏻hopefully we don’t lose the quirky parts of your videos that made you stand out from the rest! But your health and happiness comes first💖

@@mrbarrylewisthey’re like a vegetable mixture with red peppers, sweetcorn etc but also have chickpeas in them, they’re breaded and are so yummy. I always joke that if they sold them in the shops I would be them all the time. I’d love a recipe to recreate at home. Well worth a try.

Popeyes is one of my favorite chicken shops. I love the flavor and crunch of their chicken.
I like the editing but use to the old homemade style. A little warmer and friendlier before. I think it's too professional now and it feels lonely for some reason. Excited to see the new kitchen. I understand about your back hurting from all the previous videos and needing to bend, as I have issues like that as well just doing dishes lol. But I agree as to whoever is editing, just do what was done in the past. Keep the camera up so the host doesn't have to bend and that's all. Good job on all the videos in the past. As always, we love seeing your family get involved in your recipes and reviews so please don't take them out of your new style. 👍
