Even i agree, i am not fan of racing and i accidentally caught it playing in one channel and had missed half hrs of it but something just made me keep watching it and ended up loving this movie. Like I can't forget this movie.
As a movie in general, it's good. As a racing movie it's easily one of the best ever made.
Ron Howard understood that the greatness in making a movie about racing was focusing on what drives the drivers, not how the drivers drive, and the rivalry of Lauda and Hunt is told well, without seeming too exaggerated to be reasonable.
Highly recommended movie, especially for those who have even a mild interest in motorsports.

I come from a fast and furious movie background. And even for me, after I watched this, I think it became one of my favorites of all time. It covers so many damn angles. It inspired me an an athlete, as a person, and so much more. And you’re right, Howard absolutely nailed so much in this movie. I can’t think of anything wrong with this film. I’m honoured to have been able to watch a movie like this.
It's not just good though, it's actually really good.

This wasn't a movie, this was and is still is a masterpiece. The rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda is much more detailed in this film than what I would have hoped. Ron Howard delivers again ❤

This movie has given me such thrills. Daniel Brühl is such a great actor. I have so much respect for him.

This movie justifies what Chris is and what he can.
Incredible acting skill, perfect portyale, better than any Thor movie.
I would say apart from this, Ragnarok showed his comedic skills, Infinity war intensity and Endgame emotional vulnerability.
Don't kid yourself, the Thor movies require the same acting chops. This just happens to be one incredible movie on a lot of levels.
The part of the film that gave me chills was when the crowed rushed in to carry Niki off after he finished 4th in is first race back from the accident.

Underrated. Clearly depicts the envy disciplined successful people have against their counterpart undisciplined yet successful people enjoying every moment, without caring about anything. The music is the icing on the cake.

This movie is dramatically underrated, it so sad. THIS is the best sports movie ever made (YES better than Rocky), it is a perfect flowing piece of sight, sound AND most importantly acting. This was a major snub at the Oscars, because this is an easy, EASY best picture in the classical sense. If you haven't watched this fully realized masterpiece, strap in because it will grab you in the first minute and DOES NOT let go until the end. Absolute masterpiece in every sense of the phrase, and one of the best movies ever directed.
It's a shame they didn't have Murray walker doing the commentary in this film. That's something I will always miss. RIP James Hunt, Nikki Lauda and Murray walker. These men are true legends 🙌👏💜❤
The funny thing is, in the German version you can hear a voice similar to Heinz Prüller who was the voice and commentator for the Austrian broadcasting service ORF for literally some decades and he was famous for always telling side stories of interactions he had with certain drivers or mechanics and what not years ago. At times he was in such a flow that he didn't even notice when some accidents happened and all of a sudden, 2 rounds later you could hear an scream of "Uiiiii, ein schwerer Unfall" (oh, what a bad accident) when drivers were already driving with 80km/h and yellow flags for 2 laps :D
Still gives goosebumps, 8-odd years after I watched this classic flick!

An awesome film - the low budget independent film style sits so well with the period of the story and low-tech of the racing cars etc. Watch Hunt v Lauda - the BBC documentary released at the time and it only explains the rivalry , Niki's superhuman will power and the gamesmanship of the teams behind both drivers.

I remember watching this with my dad when we stopped by at a motel to set camp, I always wondered how the movie was doing and I’m very glad to see it again.

A true masterpiece. The best movie on racing for me. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl were awesome in their roles, actually much better than Tom Cruise and Michael Rooker in Days of Thunder.
The thing is, in Rush they were playing the part of real people one of whom (Niki) was still alive and participated in the making of the film.It was lucky he did as the writer actually came up with a piece of script that said " Niki gets into his race car, and turns the IGNITION KEY........???????????????" Niki realised that he was dealing with people who knew nothing about racing and actually believed racecars HAD ignition keys(they didn't then and they don't now). In those days the driver flicked a switch to turn on the power and another switch (or two) for the fuel pumps and pressed a button to start it. Nowadays the driver cannot even start the car, it's started by a mechanic behind the car who plugs in an electric gun (like a modern starting handle). This is to save weight ( of a self-starting mechanism).
