Looney Tunes Show Daffy is more accurate to the original character tbh. Old school Daffy was a selfish douche lol. They just turned his worst traits up to 11 in that show.

Not sure, how to feel about that change. Daffy progressively got more grumpy and bitter because he could never be on Bugs level. Now he's back to normal but there was no build up for that. I need to get used to this sudden change.
@@princessaur They refer to the Bob Clampet, 1930's characterization of Daffy, not the Chuck Jones characterization, which comes later and is the more popular version of Daffy, the one used in The Looney Tunes Show
It's such a weird choice to give Bugs yellow gloves. I know it's a reference to how his gloves were sometimes yellow in old shorts, but the majority of the time they were white (and it looked much better).

Man seeing this entire show and rewatching the old cartoons, daffy was always kind of a sadist to porky lmao, some would say that he was nicer cause he was wacky but even without his jerky attitude that he gained since the chuck jones era he always liked to fuck over people, specifically porky lmao (still my favourite character)

I think it kinda depends on the cartoon and who worked on it. Like sometimes Daffy seems completely oblivious to just how irritating he is but sometimes he intentionally causes trouble. I think a lot of this is due to the fact that Daffy doesn’t really stick to a formula and he’s more versatile than a character like Bugs. I think Chuck Jones almost ALWAYS made Daffy a character that intentionally causes trouble, even early on. I think the only time he made Daffy completely oblivious to how irritating he really is was in The Pest in the House (very underrated cartoon btw). In that cartoon he’s portrayed as trying his best to make sure a guest at the hotel he works at is not disturbed but he constantly disturbs him without realizing it.

There’s this one short where porky is a cop and pulls over daffy and daffy apologizes for having a lead foot and holds up a pencil, he then erases porky’s face and replaces it with his own. He then falls in love with said face and it then cuts to them sitting on a couch with like 6 duck-pig hybrids running around
3:53 Did you never see the original show? It's backwards. Gossamer was always just a monster before. It was a little confusing to me at first that he became a young boy in the Looney Tunes Show. Not a bad change, but this isn't him changing into a monster, just going back to his classic version.

Just for your information, this show is meant to be a throwback to the classic Looney tunes from the 40's and 50's (which you should watch, down to the apperances from niche characters like that russian dog, from the classic Bugs short Hare Ribbin.
But I want to watch a proper animated series

Ya'll should watch this indie cartoon called Our Spellbinding Lies (base off of a webtoon by the same name) the pilot episode is coming out extremely soon this december and it's surprisingly good from what I saw in the trailer. I really do like Our Spellbinding Lies and I kinda am disappointed that it doesn't have a lot of recognition and attention like other indie cartoons such as Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, Lackadaisy, The Amazing Digital Circus, Chikn Nuggit, and Killer Bean. I promise you guys that you are gonna have an absolute blast when you guys start watching this series.
I didn't even know this show existed, but its a cool throwback to classic cartoons.

You guys got me and a couple friends legitimatly hooked on this show after I watched the episode with y'all where Buggs cross dresses at an airport to avoid going to the Peach Festival with Porky and ends up in an Albanian prison only to be rescued by Daffy Duck who has becomes a marine. Whoever wrote that episode must have been on some crazy bender, but god did it hit the spot. Also love how well the A and B plots mesh every episode, such a genius show shame it only ran for 2 seasons.

It deserved it way more tbh. I think TT was really only revived to complete the comebacks of the 90s trinity alongside Animaniacs and Space Jam. Though all of those mentioned revivals were more like reboots with plenty of fundamental changes; so I think that a TLTS comeback would really only work if its a direct followup to the original, basically a season 3, and with as much of the previous creative team as possible.
Looney Tunes hit a good stride sometimes, and then sometimes it just has some bad days… like Space Jam.

as much as i love the OG classic looney tunes shorts, this show does end up feeling like it's trying a little bit to hard.
what i love about the classics was that there was actual momentum building up to each gag. Here, they're just throwing out gags here and there with little to no build up. Everything just feels flanderized and surface level.

This feels like Looney Tunes but its made by Jon K, the creator of Ren and Stimpy.
Yeah right, if this was John K then every episode would be twice as long, and half as many jokes.
It’s because John K was heavily influenced by Bob Clampett, the Looney Tunes director who their trying to recapture in the reboot.
I look forward to the follow-up theatrical movie coming later this year, The Day the Earth Blew Up.

While I'm glad LTC brought the Clampett/Avery side of LT back into the spotlight after the franchise leaned a bit too much into the Jones/Freleng/McKimson one for a long while, I still feel like it limited itself by being way too much of a throwback to the early to mid 40s based on the characters and story setups used, with only some 50s being thrown in whenever there was a Roadrunner, Taz or Marvin story; and that it leaned a bit too much into rapid fire gags.
This show absolutely loved traditional Porky/Daffy stories, but really lacked Bugs/Daffy ones. And while the latter might've first been introduced in the later years and after Daffy's personality change, one could've wondered how different said dynamic might've been like with his returning initial portrayal.
And about the characters featured, the lack of later ones like Speedy and Lola was a missed chance of seeing them in more traditional / throwback setups and stories, considering how both did pretty well in previous series like the sitcom. And I think the show should've at least given a fair shot to the Seven Arts characters from the late 60s, no matter how unpopular they are. Something decent could've come out of it.
But yeah, LTC has apparently ended this year so one has to wonder what will come next for the series. Tiny Toons revival doesn't exactly count since its basically its own thing. And the current Coyote vs Acme drama gives all this air of uncertainty about the franchise's immediate future. We'll just have to wait and see.
Lastly, yellow gloved Bugs is just so cursed.
That Yellow-Gloved Bugs was actually used in a actual Merrie Melodies cartoon known as "Elmer's Pet Rabbit" from 1941 and it's the first Bugs Bunny cartoon directed by Chuck Jones.
You guys are definitely not ready for the original Ren & Stimpy cartoon.
