This is sooo ofucking relatable and funny. I got yelled at from a very young age by my dad for not being able to get the job done 'just right'. Mostly while cleaning the stables for our livestock. Then on several repairs and handiman work. He would always lose his temper and become very dark and angry. Even with the father in law this happens. I'm 31 now and still have a lot of anxiety of working along instructions. Getting yelled at for doing it the wrong way or the instructions clearly not working for one or the other reason. The way we treat our children leaves a HUGE mark on them. Being a parent is hard, it's a lot of compromises and frustration, it's exhausting. But having a gentle nature is the best quality of any parent. Or at least apologize or make them not feel bad about failing at a task. But being angry at them, then staying resentful for almost a week and then repeating the cycle definitely is the worst way to go. Much love to anyone reading this and relating due to having similar experiences. You are loveable. You are worth of love. God bless you. "Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged." (Colossians 3,21) "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22,6) "With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4,2)
My dad has a short temper, and I don't like when he yells at me. I also know what happens when I tell him not to yell at me after he yells at me: He tells me off.
Putting a damn leaf on the table is the most irritating thing. We tried it one thanksgiving and got so frustrated. We just bought an extra table one table for the adults and one for the kids.
Not being an english native speaker, I clicked on this thinking Peter had to literally put an extra leaf on the table - like the ones on the walls - to decorate it and I couldn’t understand what the ordeal was. It’s always nice to learn something new 😂
So true. We’ve got a dining table that has two leaves, both of which are a little bit warped it’s a bit of a struggle to put the leaves in but it’s doable. Gotta put them in at least a couple times a year. But it’s not too bad.
This is why I love family guy. Sure it can be crazy at moments and go off in a tangent but when they feature real life moments man it hits hard. So accurate you think it was your family.
This scene goes out to everyone who's been tortured on Thanksgiving having to put the damn leaf in the table that's only open once every 7 years.
