I’m pissed. I randomly found the scary on the ground before talking to either one of them. Read the description and thought, “this must be that romanian woman’s scarf, looks like I got some quest item before getting a quest, haha. I better return this to that lady!” And then I lost a hint for her and Darby our of nowhere. I hate my life
Unfortunately, this seems to be a glitch that sometimes pops up. I think it's caused by getting the mission from Clayton, and then exiting the game before you pick up the scarf. I don't know of a fix. Hopefully they fix this in a patch. If I find a solution, I'll let you know. In the meantime I recommend hanging onto the scarf. It may get fixed in the future, or you may be able to get the hint another way, as long as you haven't given the scarf to Cristina. I don't know of a way for sure, but...
Git Gud same thing happened to me as well. Hope Dontnod patches it. Also wouldn't mind if they patched in a fast travel system between safe houses and being able to make multiple saves.

It was him who gave me the investigation in the first place, but it dosen't let me to choose

@@GitGuder i don't think it's "sometimes", there's loads of posts about this on google, now I'm playing this 2 years later and it's still not patched

When is the eavesdrop supposed to pop up? I found the scarf (accidentally) but I never saw them shine
You just have to watch them until they walk up into that alley. The eavesdrop can pop up at any time after you first meet Clayton.
For the glitch you have to get the scarf first. Then unlock the other hints. Finally give it to Clayton.
