First of all, thank you all so much for all the interest in these vids! It was honestly perfect timing that the season 1 dub came out last week and I was able to basically make this my 100/200/300 subscriber special. It's insane that I passed all that in a little over a month, so thank you so much again to everyone who's been watching, liking, or subscribing. I would not have grown without your interest/support, and I'm so glad you've enjoyed these silly little dub compilations as much as I have and I hope you like this one too. :)
Part 4 will be here shortly, hang tight!
Also! You can now follow me on twitter @the_emvp! It's mostly just art and memes, but I will also be posting vids there as well if that sounds like your speed.

I have a feeling the English Narrator winged that one 😂. I mean, you can feel the amount of "roasting" just from that line alone 😂.
It's hard to convey such emotions only through voice unless you're either really talented, well-trained, or mix of both.
That line and its delivery is usually easier to achieve when you're "in the moment" - kind of going off-script or candid in a way.

If you’d ask me, this is what a dub should be. Some things don’t translate well, and you can’t fully replicate the feel in the original language. Just try to channel the spirit of the show and run wild with it.
ngl this felt like an entirely different show. I used to mostly watch dub, but after watching this I'm glad I switched to pretty much exclusively sub.
Lots of people will start complaining
I agree, if it’s done well. Because it helps translate the comedy across languages.
Things can deviate from their source material and still be great or even better than the original. That being said I don't think this dub is a good example of that.
I totally agree. I tend to watch mostly dubbed shows nowadays because my attention span is abysmal, so I've seen a lot. The best dubs are the ones that feel the most natural, with a looser script where the english VAs can really get into the character and it doesn't feel like a translation verbatim.
Honestly, the first bit had me rolling on the floor. “HaLf A yEaR gOeS bY.” He sounds like if I’m explaining the plot to my friends and we’ve all had a few drinks already. GOD that was funny.

Don’t you ever disrespect ghost stories like that ghost stories dub is peak fiction and you’ll never change my mind
That being said I do agree that the sub for kaguya-sama is goated
Because both are over-the-top, unnecessarily intense, and waaaay out of context that it was hilarious. Both used the same tactic but executed it differently that it became a defining part of the story and the interpretation brought about by translation and difference in culture.
The Japanese narrated it like a mystery/thriller or crime documentary from another era while the English narrated it like he was consuming illegal substances while practicing for a youtube satirical commentary. Both over-the-top, unnecessarily intense, and hilariously out of context for an otherwise romantic show. It adds the com to the rom-com, making a full circle.

WAIT I might have to watch this now, this is too good!
This is one of the best animes to ever be produced easily. The animation is top tier and the voice acting is way above average its amazing. The story is absolutely great, everything about this anime like the intro and the credits(starship troopers lol) so good. This is definitely in my top 3 animes of all time list
After Haikyuu and Kaguya, we can tentatively say American dub has found the ultimate dubbing formula.
Sk8, and, the myth, the legend, ghost stories
what's the strategy just have ian voice a character and let him snort coke beforehand
@@johndoe39322 yes, coke is much cheaper in America then Japan, as such we have a textbook case of a competitive advantage.
So instead of closely following the original script, English dub should just go soo off the rails it’s a different story.
I dig it.
@@ProfTricky3168 Pretty much. The actual dialog in Japanese cartoons is incredibly unrealistic so to the usually poor writing the industry suffers. It’s hard to feel cringe when you’re only reading it. So if, instead, you alter the script enough to just be fucking wild regardless and go all the way it feels… fine.
Adult Swim? This dub needs you.
Fits as the narrator also played the voice of space dandy, which was on adult swim
@@hiimtravis2841 NO WONDER IT SOUNDED SO FAMILIAR!
Whis:Oh my this is SO GOOD!!!
@@hiimtravis2841 that gives me a very silly idea

sub : narator being serious setting up hype and drama

also i think he's on crack
i'll be honest i made it 37 seconds into this video and i had to stop because i decided i have to watch this show for myself without spoiling it. So thank you
Whoever let Whis narrate this shit is a gem. This is like watching Whis narrate a teen romance and going back wild and I am HERE FOR TJIS
YES!
Dude the rewrite on the narrator’s dialogue is absolutely incredible. Also, Shirogane and Kaguya’s vas both absolutely kill it. It’s a genuinely amazing dub.
I didn't like anybody but the narrator at first but they definitely grew on me once I got over the initial discomfort of characters I'd gotten used to sounding different
I cannot believe this dub actually exists. This is way too good man xD
