Had the chance to finally put some time into the latest Rumbleverse Beta test, which is a 40 player brawler/fighting game Battle Royale made by Epic games and the devs behind Killer Instinct, Iron Galaxy. There's a slight learning curve, but I had a ton of fun at the end of the test.

Whoever decided to make a battle royale with FREAKING *MILE HIGH* WRESTLING MOVES deserves an award.
It even looks like WWE, with all the goofy pauses between moves until the opponent stands up as both fighters seem like they're weirdly tired and half conscious all the time >:P
this is genius move by epic once again. imagine all the crossover licenses they can use in this game as well.
This is why epic games it's the king of free to play games I mean just look at their lineup Fortnite, Rocket League, newly acquired Fall Guys and now this new IP. They know how to make video games fun and engaging and that you can play for years. Fun fact epic games created unreal tournament and the Gears of war series 1,2,3. They track record is solid and they also make an engine that most video game studios in industry use. They're going to continue to pump out games that people want to play and that's what set them apart from other companies when it comes to free to play. I can't wait to play this game when it comes out.

Watching this again after seeing the news they're shutting it down... Can't believe it. Was one of my favorite games of 2022. I loved watching Max play it and share the crazy clips with us.
Still can’t believe the Killer Instinct devs made this game. Going from a serious fighting game with aliens, demons, and a toad on a hover cycle to one of the goofiest, funniest battle royale games I’ve ever seen
No wonder it looks so fun, and sounds great too.
Calling Killer Instinct "serious" is a bit of an overstatement but I get what you mean. XD
I have to say though, I'm pleasantly surprised this game looks as fun as it does. The trailers didn't make it look super promising but watching the game itself is a blast.

Seeing a player get swung, shoryuken'd, superkicked, X X Y or sacrifice throw to get the W into the water is going to be so fantastic to see :D. Oh yeah, watching opponents become craters is just as awesome

This reminds me of Hulk Ultimate Destruction and Sunset Overdrive. It definitely has a very oldschool quality to it in that it's clearly function over form, pure unadulterated fun first and everything else second.

Whenever he's just in the street breaking boxes and picking up random shiny objects, it's weirdly quiet and I felt like I was watching a Simpson's PS2 game. This isn't an insult it just gave me a weird deja vu.

@@nostalgicturtle6757 not quite, i think they mean that the sound effects and visual design in those moments of silence remind them of similar things in a simpsoms ps2 era game… I understand what he means, the quiet moments in apex legends for example don’t sound that whatsoever. So not really like ‘every other battle royale’ no.

This game is kinda like city trials from Kirby but full battle royale. Like you run around getting power ups and compete different from the shooter ones where all you get is equipment.
