Since you posted this video and I realized how close this place was, I converted from full on air ride stance boi, to buying adjustable dampening suspension, lowering springs and new tires. It's like a whole new world I didn't know was out there.
Come back here every now and then. The filter, the music, the engine sound all comes together perfectly. The creator has managed to portray speed to the viewer really well, something which isn't very easy. One of my favorite videos of all time. :)

my old playground! Between late 90s to mid 2000's we used to be out there where you guys are playing 3-4 nights a week if our cars weren't broken. The road in the beginning of the day vid with the m4 is still my favorite- I go on occasion just for old times sake. Maybe I'll run into you out there one day. Big thumbs up on your video for what you guys are doing, same thing we used to do, just a different generation. @@idokwatcher2062 I would not have been concerned. This is the street. Oncoming cars and trees and rocks are all things that would surprise you if they are NOT in the road. Some turns you don't take a record out-in-out line because you know sand piles up or you know the corner is blind and can't see oncoming headlights. Exactly what the video said, this is the street.
Bullshit. The fastest way around a corner is in most cases to take it from the outside, take the correct apex and leave it wide to get the best acceleration. This though is a racing line! And you always i repeat always want to go this way if possible. (traffic etc.)
This isnt a racetrack. The road is active with cars, animals, changes in road surface, and pot holes if anything. The fastest line could also lead to the closest tree ahead of you.

Leahcim Zruc although there very little people doing it i did find people that still do it, my goal is to make touge racing event possible and let people experience what mountains racing is about.

During my uncles gen, racing was the one thing everyone loved doing every weekend. As time flowed, they now all have a family and kids. Puts more responsibility as a dad to not do dangerous stuff and be able to come home, and eventually as you grow older you kinda get abit lazy and put less time on tuning your cars or doing maintenance and just send it to the shop to do it for you. Now im around the same age as them when they started racing. Ive been seeing less in this gen but still going strong. Sooner or later this kind of stuff will be a lost art. As more EV come in and selfdriving cars take over. Im just happy that im able to push my car to its limit.
The roads are getting busier here now, it's scary when there's a car sitting at 30 in front of you when you exit a corner at night. But when the conditions are right, people will still get out there and drive :)
@@quest8795 Cars are one thing. I made the mistake of thinking the corners are safe if I see no lights reflected from anywhere. Ran into a carriage once. Horse and all...Animals are also a thing. The more you hone your skills the more you start noticing how big a factor luck is. If it's an open road...if not you just hit it and whatever happens is on you. Or at least that's my opinion...I'll take yours if you feel like sharing or you think I'm off about something.
@@22damian93 I absolutely agree, I haven't crashed as I only push it when conditions are appropriate, on roads I know well. But on all of those roads, I can think of many places where it's a blind corner, and there could be something completely unexpected like a horse and carriage at the exit. Thankfully, most road users like that aren't out at night, but it's still a risk every driver has to consider 👍

u can do this in any car that lets you choose the gear you want to be in. Automatics can do it too but are at a huge disadvantage. Just get yourself a cheap manual car, they're everywhere. Hell, it could even be a Honda civic. Just don't rice it out. There's no better feeling than driving a slow car fast

To me, touge is my freedom from dayly stress, and the boring cycle work, eat, sleep, it makes me human instead of a robot. Touge is connection to others, the car, the road, your sences. Touge is passion, emotion, and the presence of "just be in the moment". It grounds me and my sanity and when I drive the pass, im in Control of me. Not my perants, not my boss, not any governments. No, its me, my car, and the road. Touge is my freedom.
This route seem perfect for being able to cross double yellow. My local spot is blind hairpins with 100+ft cliffs. Lots of ppl go off at that spot due to over driving their car and not knowing the road etc. so most of our "locals" follow the "dont cross the double yellow" rule unless you can clearly see the other side etc ( which is only a few sections ) so most of us push hard enough to keep it fun but not hard enough that you need to use the entire road / both lanes. nice driving and good video !

this road reminds me of a vacation that my family went on a few years ago. It was probably midnight or so, and we were driving through the countryside looking for a hotel so we could get some rest. If I remember correctly, we were somewhere in Virginia, and the road was exactly like this. Back then I wouldn't have given the road a second look, but now that I'm more into cars, I would love to go back and drive that road with some close friends and fun cars.
The sound of cars desperately trying to pass eachother, the screeching of tires as they pour through the turns at amazing speeds, the scream of the engines as they are pushed to their limits, but most importantly, the love the owners have for their cars. That is what touge is ladies and gentlemen.

What camera and mount do you use ? Any special settings .. ? I'm thinking of doing videos like yours here in Madeira Island and i want some good image quality
+Roadgs 12 GoPro Hero 3, with headstrap mount and various other mounts. You just have to experiment with mounting options. It's also important to have a good understanding of color correction and post production. I sort of do this stuff for a living so I know my way around cameras and post production. The footage definitely doesn't look like this directly out of the camera. It isn't incredibly difficult but there is a learning curve of course. The driving is definitely the most difficult part. :)

I did my first touge some months ago! I havent tried again since im fixing some things in my car right now (namely a leaky air intake, stereo, and some minor customizations) but I will definetly go back at it! My place is full of roads like this being a volcanic island. Ill keep it slow, I dont want to damage my car or others, I just want to blast eurobeat/phonk/disco and have some fun in the corners.
I got caught up while driving and now I can’t legally risk running anymore. It was what brought me peace. I’ll never forgive myself for ruining that, but I’ll make my spirit live on at the track in the future.

Generally you can see other cars' lights from a good distance when you're driving at night, but still it is very risky.

I did my first touge some months ago! I havent tried again since im fixing some things in my car right now (namely a leaky air intake, stereo, and some minor customizations) but I will definetly go back at it! My place is full of roads like this being a volcanic island.
Ill keep it slow, I dont want to damage my car or others, I just want to blast eurobeat/phonk/disco and have some fun in the corners.
