I've always hated corn tortillas but I think it's because I've never had them fresh like this. The package ones are dry, cakey, just totally unappealing.
I was the same way as a kid because that’s just what my mom would buy! But I’m lucky I live in Austin and I can try all of these amazing fresh corn tortillas that taste literally nothing like the store bought ones.
I can never wrap my head around why people like store bought tortillas. They all taste like crap!!! Homemade all the way.
I’m Mexican and thought first like who buys packaged tortillas?, then remembered that there are not tortillerías everywhere in the planet
If you have one fresh do yourself the favor and put a lil salt in the middle and roll it like a taquito and eat it that way. Thats a struggle meal and true enjoyment of the tortilla

Suerte is added to my bucketlist. There's no way I could ever do this at home!
Yes and no, Suerte's process is obviously more for large yields whereas a regular person wouldnt need as much to be able to make a few tortillas. A mortar and pestle can be used to mill the corn, and after that it will be the same process as making dough. You could also just buy Corn Flour and that will still yield very good tortillas. Hopefully this helps.
