One of the main reasons SL is my fav FNaF game is because of the jumpscares. They’re so thrilling, scary, and unsettling. What tops it all off is that jumpscare sound. Amazing.
They are great jumpscares, and while i dont like sister location overall that is one part I absolutely love

I agree with you and I also find it very interesting that SL is still the only game in the series that introduced different sound effects for every animatronic, something that not even more modern games like SB bother to do.
You can tell Scott put a lot of effort into more than any other game before Steal Wool.
That is true, while I do have my problems with Sister Location as an overall game it does nail atmosphere and the jumpscares slap
SB indeed does have different jumpscare sounds(there's variants for staff bots, nightmarionne staff bots, animatronics, freddy, vanny, vanessa) but the problem is that nearly all of them sound the same with slight differences at the end

Both Security Breach and Ruin have different jumpscare sounds for different animatronics.
I've watched all of Markiplier's FNAF content, and based on his reactions, Funtime Freddy got him the worst. There was no overreacting to sell the content, you could just see and hear the visceral reaction he had to what he just witnessed. SL's jumpscares are brilliant.

Funtime Freddy has an amazing jumpscare sound that managed to actually jump scare me when i played the game and Ballora has the best jumpscare animation of the whole series imo
Combine thise two and you get my favorite fnaf game jumpscare wise . Overall sl could have been way better but it just fell flat for no reason and that makes me both angry and sad.
I hope they remake sl in the future

Even though the OG FNaF jumpscare sound is iconic, funnily enough FNaF 2's sound is actually *more* iconic as it is used in most memes.
I totally Agree with this, I'm not a fan of SL as a game either, But the jumpscare sounds are spot on, Especially funtime foxy's.
you should really do a list ranking the best character design (worst to best) and maybe to avoid being bias or something you can make seperate list for each game (or put it all into one list if you wanna give yourself the challenge) 😎

You mentioned the SB Jumps were quiet. There is a specific setting for jumpscare volume in the settings. You sure yours wasn't set low?

8. FNaF4: I'm sorry, but I cannot take this jumpscare sound seriously. It's just a mashup of the FNaF1 and FNaF3 sounds that de-emphasize what made those sounds scary. It just sounds comical to me, and if it weren't for the horrifying animatronic designs, the jumpscares would not be scary to me at all.
7. FNaF3: Much scarier than FNaF4, but for some reason, it still doesn't hit me that hard. By all means, it should hit me hard, with how mangled and deathly it is, but... I dunno. I really can't explain what it is that doesn't scare me.
6. SB: I do find it kinda scary, personally. Only reason I ranked it this low is that it doesn't always fit. You're telling me that human woman Vanessa makes this sound without moving her mouth at all? It gave credence to that stupid theory that it's Gregory's scream, which doesn't make sense as the scream is audibly distorted when you're attacked by the damaged animatronics.
5. FNaF1: Yes, this is low, I know. I probably would've been very scared of it... if it weren't for the fact that I first heard the sound from humorous sources like the Fuckboy's fan-game. I can't really take it seriously because of that. But I WILL admit that it's an incredibly iconic sound, so I ranked it higher than the previous one despite finding that one scarier.
4. FFPS: This one is the first one I can say makes me JUMP from the scare. It's basically just a weaker take on the same idea FNaF2 had, but that's not saying anything really bad.
3. RUIN: This is the first time I've heard this sound, and honestly? It makes me very, very uncomfortable. I'm certain it's weaker in the context of the game, but hearing it here, I feel like putting it here.
2. SL: So many different sounds, and they all sound like vicious, hungry metalic beasts... but also pained, in a way. Very frightening.
1. FNaF2: I can't really say why, but this is the one sound that makes me straight up *recoil* when it hits me. Everything else, at most, makes me think "Woah! I didn't expect that! Yeesh!". This one fills me with real, genuine TERROR.
I will also put FNAF 2 at Number 1, its so iconic

Sister Location 100% deserved to be 1st that game set ups for jumpscare is absolutely awesome especially Funtime Foxy’s in my opinion

I never knew this had a unique sound but its awesome. Im tempted to put it at number 1. Id say though it would be at 2 though just because you'll never hear it on a casual playthrough.

sb, ps and fnaf2 aren’t as bad as you said. SB is really ear piercing and unnerving whereas fnaf 2 sounds so off or wrong in a way that irks me. fnaf 4’s is kinda bad.
