I really recommend staying with the 3k no multiplier for tournaments. It really amplifies the skill difference between teams. With multipliers, you just have to hang on until the multiplier is high enough to one shot the opposing team. Even a noob like me could potentially beat a pro if we get some sri Lankas and Taiwan's until 10x multi where we get a Russia. Without multiplier you simply have to guess better than them to win, period, and every round counts.
agreed, only thing that would make it better is geoguessr introducing dynamic multipliers where the smaller the country, the more points its worth. So that way every country, even the small ones, become very important from round one

Disagree, multipliers add an element of intensity that is not there without them. Who wants to watch the same people win every single time, upsets are what make sports and competitions entertaining imo and multipliers as you said increase the chance of that. I also don't like the games being prolonged and going to high rounds with each team making the same guesses each time for 40 rounds.

@@drugsrbad475 I think the pro geoguessr are close enough in skill that reduced variance would not result in the same players winning every time. Since you mention sports, I'll point out there are no multipliers in sports. Every soccer goal is worth 1 point, its not worth more deeper in the game. I agree it adds a level of intensity, but personally I'm more interested in seeing the best team win. Regarding games taking too long, it doesn't have to be 3k points. Make it 2k then. It's the multipliers I disagree with.
