I LOVE frisee in salads. Yours are beautiful! I haven't been able to find much information on growing it, so thank you for this video. I'm waiting for my seed order to arrive. Excited to try to grow this!

Another method you can use to blanch is by putting a bowl in the center about 10 days before harvesting.

Thanks for this. Do you do anything with endive/escarole, raddichio? I’m giving them a go this spring for the first time.

I do! I am fast in love with radicchio and trying more forcing types (like endive and tardivo this year). Have fun with this new to you crop! its very gratifying to grow.

An uncommon way to use endive that I enthusiastically recommend is halving (or quartering) endive hearts and adding the the base of a roast chicken. I add them to other veggies (potatoes, onion, carrots, parsnips, turnips etc) and as it roasts all the vegetables take on a great flavor and texture. The endive is absolutely the standout. It get tender but not mushy and absorbs the flavors of the chicken, seasoning & veggies...it looks show stopping too! I personally find it much tastier w/ a better texture cooked this way than raw. I'm not a big radiccio fan but apparently you can grill it. Escarole I only know of Bean & Escarole soup!
