Other ebike companies are going to see this video and send you their bikes to review. That was too good of a review to go unnoticed. Great job!!
Thanks, I appreciate it. 🙏🏽
How about send that girl Ester Ebikes?😍
How about buying from a local dealer if it's possible? I wouldn't buy online I've seen so many issues and buyers end up without being able to ride their bike for 3 to 6 months. A bikes dealer could assemble it to be sure nothing is wrong. Nice bike . Great review too !! Thanks
@@gmc8810 3 local dealers here and all sell $3,000 and up TREK junk.
I don't mean Trek is junk by the way. Lol. Just said junk meaning stuff. 😂
Please make more eBike reviews! This is one of the best quality eBike reviews I have ever seen! Such amazing quality and very great information! Very well put together!
Thanks! I appreciate it. 🙏🏽
Finally an overall thorough review! Great job on specs!
Excellent review! Thorough, stylish, & well-organized. It hits on points I didn’t even think to consider, and visually *shows* everything you talk about *as* you talk us through it. Wasn’t really considering an e-bike and now I want a Kepler 😂
Ditto; What You Said Eddie, Plus I like All the Changes HOI Made Too
Wow wow I watched this video yesterday and had to come back today to watch again. The cinematography is professional to the max. And the review is stellar. Even the model added so much flair too. You are good dude.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 🙏🏽
Very intuitive video review of the Version 1.0 Kepler. Was looking forward to seeing this, and am not disappointed in the least.
Keep up the great work. 👍🏾
Thanks man. 🙏🏽
Thanks for the great review, Eddie. I’m considering the Kepler but I’m not in any hurry. There are so many ebike options to choose from now and the market seems only to be growing.
Thanks! Yeah, ebikes are on the rise of advancement so it's only going to get better and more common which is great for the consumer because it opens more options.
Bro's got the cinematography on point! Great review, thank you!
Awesome review! Perfect quality and two thumbs up for the models Leenda and Kyoto. Just received my bike today. Waiting on the battery to charge but so far just thinking about the flimsy fender not aligning up. I did my best but can’t wait to take it out with my lil pup later.
This was fantastic, great job with the overall presentation, love all of the angles!!
I wish Rusty would stay in a basket like your pup!!
Looking forward to more review as well!
🤘🏽⚡🐾
Thanks man! I appreciate it. Yeah, Kyoto wasn't sure about it at first but got used it after a few days
Nice review, mine had the same issue with the front rotor, but everything else is just as you described. It's a beast. Thanks...
THANK YOU for being the first reviewer on CZcams I've seen to mention the "issues" you had with the bike right out of the box. I started looking into this and holy smokes! These guys have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau. Tons of bad reviews on BBB website. I was all ready to buy one, but now I'm not quite so sure. Definitely a lot of these being shipped with defects. But what percentage? I'd love to see some reviews talking about this issue. I really dont want a "project" bike.
I just ordered my Kepler, I’m excited!
Stoked for you man! 🙏🏽
This was such an awesome review! Thanks for making this video. I order my Kepler 6/1 hopefully I'll have it in time for my birthday July 4th.
Did you get it ?
@@nycowboy2288 no. I just got an email saying it would be shipped soon so just patiently waiting.
Excellent video review. Great editing and overview
Great video! The Kepler is on my short list of e-ebikes I'm considering. Cute pup and stunning model!
Thanks! I appreciate it
I just want to give you a SHOUT OUT! that while I follow and subscribe to several Ariel Rider Kepler reviewers, you are by far the best at the full description of the bike - piece by piece. Here is my issue: no one shows a shorter person getting on and off the Kepler. They just show them standing supported by a sidewalk, or riding around. What us short girls need to see is the actual getting on and off of the bike, as well as stopping without falling! My husband and I are awaiting the arrival of our bikes, so I just hope I can pull this off - meaning enough leg strength for this heavy bike when stopping, and getting on and off the bike safely. It's a big investment.
Thanks Kim. Hopefully you got the low-step. Have one foot planted on the ground I pull my leg through the top of the bike frame rather than swinging it. I find that easier to do getting on and off the bike.
The bike is also a beast and is difficult to get it going on pedal while trying to balance even on first gear so here's my advice. Once you get on the bike. Use speed to balance the bike and getting it going. You can do this by using the throttle, once you have enough speed, you can start pedaling. One BIG CAUTION though, the bike is VERY torquey, twist the throttle slowly otherwise you might pop wheelie or the the bike flies off with you and hit something. Getting used to the twist throttle is the most important thing you should acclimate too.
Stopping the bike is a bit tricky if you're short. If you're planning to stop, say you're approaching a red light. I suggest stopping next to a curb so you can get some support in the beginning. You'll have to experiment a little bit on how to stop your bike without a curb and whatever is comfortable with you. Whatever you do though make sure you hold the brakes while stop to maintain control of the bike otherwise the bike might take you do with it if you don't have control over it. Hope this helps.
@@houseofintent Good info, thanks. Might be worth noting they recommend to use the rear break more than the front brake for safety.
Well done. Informative, and honest review. That is a hard combination to find.
I have the v2 and have had it for slightly over a year. This was an excellent review. Here are my supplemental comments.
Mine arrived in February and I didn’t try to assemble it during the 15 day return period. The bike was extremely well packaged. Unfortunately, it was doa on arrival. Customer support told me to check all the connections. Still didn’t work. They sent replacement parts but did not offer to pay the bike shop for install. It seemed fairly clear to me that the bike was not checked after receipt from china.
I am 6 ft and the bike is difficult to get on and off, even though I have the step through. If you’re under 5’8” I would suggest trying one first.
I encourage people to get a drop seat for this bike. It allows leg extension when pedaling, but you can put both feet on the ground when stopped.
All in all it’s a pretty good bike. Powerful and reasonably priced.
Things I changed: new seat, new hand grips, thumb throttle instead of half throttle.(I found my hand accidentally slipping off the grip onto the twist throttle. Scared the crap out of me. If you don’t want to switch throttle use some no slip bat tape.) it should be noted that they will tell you repeatedly that some mods may void the warranty.
Would I buy it again? Hard to say because more high power smaller bikes have come out since then. I need a bike that can climb hills easily and this does that, so I’m ok with it. The ebike business is in the Wild West stage with a lot of unknown people.be careful.
Wear a helmet.
This was well done dude loved it
Thanks man 🙏🏽
Best review ever..you show us the good and the bad you experience and not some just show positive and had issues but never mentioned it..for the price you getting your money's worth and more vs the competition
thanks! I appreciate it :)
You got good skill Eddie. Great flow and concise comments. Any thoughts on how to improve the wire management
Thanks, I appreciate it. I bought these cord protectors amzn.to/3kbsWrP and replace the one that came with it.
Very nice video - both in content and production. Sorry you had so many troubles with yours - our 2 Keplers arrived almost perfect... my front brake is giving me a bit of a hassle as I bed it in (same noise issue as yours), and my wife's was missing 1 gooseneck crossbolt. Ariel send me a replacement and a spare. The CST tires are a little thin, and I've had one flat, so I'll be filling the tubes with Flatout while deciding if I want to add Mr. Tuffy tire liners or Tannus armor. We also replaced the seats on ours, but Ive done that on every bike I've owned since I was 12, so no surprise there for me.
Yeah, it sucks with all the issues but that's kinda what happens with first gens and first batches unfortunately. Mine isn't too bad compared to others I've heard that aren't even working. I have Armor-Dolloz Tire Sealant. Forgot to mention that on the video. I haven't had a flat when using it onewheel. I was looking at the Tannus. I might do that later down the line after wearing the stock tires.
I’ve bought 3 ebikes and 2 had issues. One due to shipping damage and one had some electrical issues. Juiced and Rad support both took care of the problems. As you said, make sure you document everything. All seats suck in this price range. Kepler looks good for $1799
Nice review 👏🏽 Can't wait! I get my Kepler Friday. Have you done a throttle only range test? Thanks
Thanks! I appreciate it. I haven't yet. Planning on doing that this weekend.
Great video. Very clear and concise
Amazing 👏 review brother
Great review, it would have benefited from some on camera performance demonstrations imo. Thanks for the great editing, personal experience details and clean narration!
Thanks. Great idea. I'll make sure to include that in future reviews. 🙏🏽
Outstanding video! Thank you.
Awesome looking bike, thanks for the review. Look up downward voice inflection it'll help with your voiceovers.
The pedals are supposed to be on the "ball" of your foot, right behind your toes. That should eliminate the fender issue.
Excellent review! 👍
Thanks! 👍
You presented a fantastic hands on review. Great job 💪
Thanks! I appreciate it, Aaron. 🙏🏽
Really good info. In fact, I actually purchased the Kepler shortly after watching your video. You had one of the few videos with the low-step version in action and it looked fantastic. I'm relatively tall but I realized my girlfriend and even some family members could ride it comfortably too in that style. I've been staring at that bike for several weeks and finally went for it! 👍
Great content bro👍🏽🎯💯
Thanks 💯
What a review... amazing work,!
Great Review!
I got my kepler on the 2nd round of shipping and so far am very happy with it. I did notice some differences though from the1st batch, my brake light has turn signals along with a turn signals switch + light button under the pedal assist buttons, also my stem adjustment is not like yours. I don't have a physical cap to adjust, it's built into my frame. I also have the same issue with my brakes making that noise that almost sounds like its underwater.
Sounds like you may have forgot to bed the brakes. If you don't embed some of that pad material onto the rotor before you do any hard stops you'll get that warbling/underwater howl from the brakes.
@@johnjuhasz4977 I learned from my first ebike to bed the brakes, the first thing i did on my kepler was go out and get to 15mph and do 10 hard stops on my front brake then the same on the rear and then both together. I don't know allot about bicycles but like others have mentioned it's possible it shipped "Warped"
I tried calling them I got no answer I’m getting a lot of feedback that it takes a long time to get delivered ?
Nice review. I find it interesting how very similar this bike is to the Magicycle and Himiway in design and appearance. I'm considering the Magicycle and Ride1up 700 as better values for the money. You in the Sacramento area? Thought I noticed Land Park and the American River bike trail in your review. Keep up the good work!
I’m also comparing with the r1u 700. What makes it seem like a better value to you?
Well Done!
... Thx For Sharing!
Amazing review!!!
Excellent video
Great work, thnx for the info and time. I'm glad you and the pup are ok. I just ordered my ARK 4days ago. Looking forward to mine. How long did it take for you to receive yours???
Thanks 🙏🏽 Took about a month wait
@@houseofintent thnx again
Let me start with what most of us are thinking. The model is hot. OK, I said it. Nice bike review as well. Good job.
Thanks!
There's a bike in this video?
I’m a simple man, I see doge in thumbnail, I click video
Just ordered my Kepler 2 weeks ago. Great video. Keep up the great work. 👍
czcams.com/video/xZCmq8frB10/video.html
Actually now I've had to cancel my order due to a 2 month backorder delay.
This would honestly be my first choice for my next bike but the only thing stopping me from getting it is the fact it's a hardtail and has no rear suspension. Maybe eventually they'll make a full FS version 😂
It's between this and the fiido t1 for me, which is just about as fast and has a front basket out of the box.
Excellent review. This review made me realize $1800 is too much money for Kepler to NOT deliver me a perfectly assembled bike.
Glad it was helpful. :). Though, I would say most ebikes aren't going to be fully be assembled or perfect. They should be tuned up right after you received it.
Everyday looking for this. Hope its good.
I'm looking to buy an ebike soon, and I noticed we must live in the town, are ther any dealers near here?
What is the freewheel size? A 11-34 tooth?
My biggest concern as someone who doesn't own a car,.....is being terribly trepid about adequately securing any E-bike whilst I'm inside buying groceries etc. It's disgusting having to worry about some scumbag stealing my bike,.....but that's the world we live in.
Agreed. On occasion when I go grocery shopping with my bike, I leave my bike inside the store and I quickly just get what I need. Too bad most places aren't like Japan where you don't have to worry about locking your bike up.
Great review.
Few questions. I’m 5’8 is the reg the right fit? Also do you know if a 300 watt jackery will charge it and does it have pads through charging?
Thanks
You would need a Jackery 1500 or higher,
What is the distance from ground to step thru area?
I noticed this bike doesn’t have more than one size I’m wondering what the top tube length is
MINIMUM SADDLE HEIGHT
HIGH-STEP 34
LOW-STEP 32"
Measured from the ground
MAX SADDLE HEIGHT
HIGH-STEP 43"
LOW-STEP 42"
Measured from the ground
SEAT TUBE HEIGHT
HIGH-STEP 18
LOW STEP 16"
STANDOVER HEIGHT
HIGH-STEP 31"
LOW-STEP 26.5"
TOTAL LENGTH
HIGH-STEP 74
LOW-STEP 74
WHEELBASE
HIGH-STEP 46.2"
LOW STEP 45.8"
The bad thing I found out about this bike is that all the U-bolts I tested won't fit over the tire to the frame. The middle frame is so wide and it's hard to connect it to a street lamp. It's nearly impossible to secure such a huge bike.
Can you tell me where you bought the black bag for the Kepler cargo basket please?
The black bag is the F-Stop ICU. here is a link to it: amzn.to/3booHEU. An alternative one is the Neewer bag: amzn.to/3bjAOTA. It's smaller than the F-Stop but it's also cheaper. You can find all the other items I talk about in the description of the video :)
House of Intent - hope you dont mind me asking. Since you got the low step, How tall are you and whats your experience getting in n out from the low step. Thanks
Hey, I’m 5’4. Instead of swinging my other leg, I push it through the middle to get on.
I trust your review, thank you.
Great review! Any thoughts on why does this bike have the lowest payload capacity (300lbs) of all e bikes in this price range?
They've raised it to 330lbs, though your point still stands.
I don't know why they are saying that maybe to keep the top speed higher
I don't see anything on updated mileage scanning thru the comments feed...have you calculated decently accurate mileage yet? Just curious the max mileage you've gotten on a charge and if it's anything close to the 70+ they advertised.
I’m averaging 60-65 miles with cargo and a 22lb dog on flat land mostly on pavement and some dirt and gravel.
How is its brake? I got one eBike (ECOTRIC 26" 36V 350W Electric Bike Bicycle eBike Shimano 7 speed Litium Battery) couple of months ago but its both front and rear brakes suck. I even don't dare to ride down hill anymore. I'm planning shopping another one with better and more guaranteed brakes. It is very dangerous without good brakes.
The brake rotors are decent and it brakes well. Once your brake pads are worn out, I would replace them and the rotors at the same time. I recently got them replaced. The original ones lasted 2300 miles. I might do a 6 month/2300 mile follow up video.
Is the battery removable to charge separate from the bike? Also can you lock this bike through the app or electronically?
Yes & no to the second question.
Is the dog sold within the bike?
Quality control isn't an issue It's the shipping companies but they love making customers happy.
It's a both. For instance, the cargo bike rack comes with a set of screws that are too short and not only that, each order have different types of screws. That is a quality control issue. The carrier has nothing to do with what screws or how long they should be. The lock tumbler completely missing upon arrival doesn't have anything to do with the carrier. These are just a couple of examples of QC issues. But that's not to say that the bike can't be damaged during shipping. I would recommend getting your bike tuned up by a bike shop when you get it because it will fix or at least identified problems that your bike might have incurred during shipping.
I want either that bike or the grizzly with twin motors and batteries. It's a tough choice. I like how the grizzly looks but that bike is pretty nice too.
Yeah, I was in the same situation. I chose this bike because I kept seeing reviews that moped-type ebikes aren't that comfortable to peddle specially long distances and I plan on touring with this bike so I chose the Kepler
@@houseofintent the Kepler is alot cheaper also. But I wonder what the difference in range is. It would be cool if they made a dual motor and battery Kepler.
What are the benefits of the fat tires? Why did you choose them?
Smoother ride primarily. I guess it can help on grave to but I haven't really noticed a difference between a thinner tire.
When did you order and how long did it take to ship thanks, also is it hard to find replacement batteries for this model
I ordered it around the end of April and got it around the end of May so about a month. I don't believe there are replacement batteries available yet. When I contacted AR, they said extra batteries will be available at the end of this month but I haven't seen any yet on their website.
@@houseofintent ok do you know anywhere that will take a battery for this model maybe like alibba or Amazon or anything online I know it's 20amp battery wasn't sure if just any battery would work or what size dimensions like clone wise that would fit let me know if you know of any thanks 👍
I have one coming at the end of the month. How hard was it to put together?
It's pretty simple. It comes about 90% assembled. Here are the instruction: czcams.com/video/6Lja1fabN2s/video.html
Does it pull a hill ( in your opinion ) , just as good as an AWD E-Bike? Thanks
I've never ridden an awd ebike but yes it definitely pulls uphill. I weigh 150lb and it pulls me, my dog, all my stuff on 3rd gear on.
Hey how is the Kepler holding up would you recommend this ebike
The Kepler is holding up fine. I have 2500 miles on it. Regular tuning and replaced the brake pads and rotors. I've ridden it every day since I got it.
Is Linda Filipina? I used to live in Dumaguete and Im waiting on my Grizzly V2 here in the Rockies.
I ordered my kepler on 6/11. I hope I get it before end of month or first week of July.
I ordered on the same day as you. Looks like we made the cut for end of the month shipping by 2 days. Hopes it ships fast so I can cruise it on July 4th holiday.
@@toneighty6913 Yeah.. we ordered in time. I'm 36yrs old and I never thought I would be feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive. I keep checking my emails everyday. This month is taking forever to end.
@@Jagonzalez2486 lol same here and I’m 43
What is the average mile range this gets in both throttle and assist mode?
Average range on assist 2 is 60-65 miles. I haven't been able to fully test out throttle-only since I tend to get bored after awhile using only throttle lol
They need to sell spare batteries on their website or at least provide an aux connection for a second battery. Also even these premade ebikes require assembly so you might as well do a little more assembly and make a way better custom build for the same price. Then you can have a 3kw motor(50 mph top speed) and 3kwh battery(3x range of this) for the same price.
anywhere i should look if i would want to get into custom ebike making? hearing getting a better speed for the same price if custom built sounds nice
How long did the back order take from purchase date?
About a month and a half
I guess they don't do a quality check/final inspection and adjustments before shipping to the customer? Too bad as I was ready to order one.
Can't say that for sure but my guess is they do but very loosely as most bikes you get are functional. With any product you buy, there will be a small percentage that will have defects. It's when the defects start to outweigh the overall production line is when it becomes a problem. Given the circumstances of the world and AR being a small company, it's pretty normal imo but their support is quite surprising so it seems like they stand by their product. Not to mention the specs of their bikes are one of the best of the price. If you order from another bike company, you can still get defects but will lower specs and not that great of a support system. My best advice is before deciding on a bike, make sure to outweigh everything and not to get tunnel vision on a particular subject. :) Have fun researching ebikes, as I did.
@@houseofintent Yes agreed. Plus it could just be the fault of an employee slacking on the job, hopefully weeded out & shit canned... LoL...
Sounds like your bike took a big hit while in shipping. Was the box damaged at all?
The box wasn't damaged. Yeah, it could have been both shipping and quality control idk. I def recommend getting the insurance when getting a bike
Interesting video. Your strategy of having a beautiful girl ride the bike to keep your audience's attention is very savvy. Great organized, honest information.
Is the battery removable?
Yes
It is the not available in Canada
cool review , it looks bulky , be cool to try one though 😎
Thanks Gilbert. It's very handy when running errands too haha
I need her
So irs worth the wait??
I can only speak for myself but most definitely. Specially because I live in the city. Saved a lot of gas and explored a lot of places I wouldn't have another wise.
I'm here for the giveaway. Thanks in advance!!
My x-class 48v brake make the same noice
Yeah, I still need to install the new rotors
Bought kepler,1900$,lasted a year, electrical blowout, company said it was just past warrenty evan though it was a faulty part, one year of use and now they want 500-800$ to fix it, just saying, posting to help yall make smart purchases
One genuine and honest advice kindly wear a helmet riding with this kind of powerful ebike . You don't want to risk yourself
Rode a motorcycle for many years without wearing a helmet. My wife insisted I wear one when I got my Kepler, and I'm very thankful she did. With my motorcycle, reaching the ground with my feet was not a problem. But with a bike seat at the right height, you'll only reach the ground on you tippy toes, and this makes you very vulnerable.
I was in very rough terrain because of road construction, going very slow, almost stopped when I fell sideways with the bike. I landed downward on a hill and tumbled onto the asphalt road. It wasn't much of a crash, but the downward tumble caused me to roll and hit the back of my helmet on the road. Who knows how bad it would have been if my melon had smacked that pavement.
On another occasion, I was cruising at about 15 mph on a paved bike trail. It merged into a golf cart path where the two became a single bending path before separating again. Someone had dumped a bunch of sand from the nearby sand trap onto that path right where I needed to make a fairly sharp turn. I'd made this turn many, many times before, but on this day with the sand on the path, I couldn't do a thing. By the time I saw the sand, it was too late, and it might as well have been black ice because that's how slick it was.
The front wheel went sideways, and I rode the bike down as it ground into the pavement. Then I went over the handle bars and face first into the asphalt. My helmet hit hard and bounced my head back, away from the asphalt so that my face never actually made contact with the asphalt. Had I not had my helmet on, my face would have been painted all over that pavement.
I like your Shiba. 😍
Thanks :)
Why dont they just add extra to the price of the bike and just use a better seat
Does she come with the bike😏
This or a surron?
The Surron is a total different beast. For e-bikes, I’d choose this. No registration, no license, no insurance needed. For an e-motto, I’d contemplate on the Surron but I’d have to check out other options to decide. Surron are dope though.
@@houseofintent thank you for the reply. I'm stuck on the surron cause I prefer one that's faster off the line. But the kepler seems more practical.
great bike but you need a better dog carrier, buy a purpose built carrier for your animals or prepare for regret.
Your model should wear a helmet especially since she is small and the ebike is huge. Plus this bike goes crazy fast. Taking a hard fall with no helmet is very bad. Maybe even fatal?
You should stop backseat parenting, specially to other adults 😊
@@houseofintent true. I just struggle with the loss of my cousin who died. Very preventable.
