    I picked up a 99 vert in Red a few years back for 7k with 73000 mi, and I love it. It’s like driving a 300 hp go cart….

      Nice! That's a great deal!!! Definitely worth well over 12k in this market with those lower miles. 👍
      They are definitely a great fun bang for the buck ride.

    I agree with a lot you said but you are a little off with underestimating the power potential of these cars . You can make 350 to 400 wheel horsepower N/A which will definitely beat a stock Coyote because it’s much lighter. If you boost it with the right moods you can even beat modded Coyotes . Yes the Coyotes make way more power mod for mod but that sticker price is about 2 to 3 times what you may pay for 1 of these Cobras !!!

      Right on. But can you do that with bolt ons NA?
      I'm sure with cams(which our pricy for these 4vs because you need 4 cams) some head work and bumping the compression, or maybe even going carbureted🤔..... its very possible. But that's a lot of $ to spend. Especially if you need a shop to do the work. As its labor intestive. But I hear ya. I haven't Heard/ seen many doing it. But I'm all ears. I like NA builds for sure! More reliable 👍

    I was going to go 3:73 gears, but I really can’t decide between 3:73 and 4:11..So I was going to go 3:90s but Ford racing doesn’t have them and I don’t want a rear end whine…

    • @jimmyjamesgarage3290
      @jimmyjamesgarage3290  Před 2 lety +1

      I do have a rear end whine. It doesn't bother me too much. Its not horrible. But if that's a deciding factor I'd wait for 3.90s if possible. I recommend nothing less then 3.73. Most people that go 3.73 wish they'd of done 4.10s for what it's worth. I think 3.73 would still be way better then stock though.

      @@NewEdgeDesigns no problem, rear end gears make up for these 4 valves lack of torque.

      @@jimmyjamesgarage3290 ya, I used to have a 98 cobra, but I’m doing the GT thang right now…Had a few Lincoln mark 8s with that motor also…

      If your boosted go with 3.55 gear depending on what sides tires you have , like if you are on a 15 inch rim with a slick this is your setup . Now if you have just bolt ons with a tune on a GT street grag tire or hard street tire 17’s and up 3.73 or 3.90 or 4.10 is the way to go brother 😎✅.

    Nice video brother 🔥🔥 I have a Convertible 01 SVT Cobra the same color with a roll bar with a 160,000 miles on it , I’m the second owner . I’ve own this car 9yrs and I love my Cobra 💯🔥✅ and it has a lot of afther market bolt on from American Musle , LMR , and Jegs so yes !! , the 4vales are expensive to make more horsepower I agree💪😎.

      Appreciate the feedback! That's awesome man! I ❤️ the mineral grey. It's very unique. How's it running at 160,000 miles? Engine still feel strong?

    Nice video man. I’ve had my 01 vert for a few years now and put almost 9k miles on her from 26k to 35k. I’ve done all my suspension work, cammed it, and now just working on fixing all the plastic and creaking 😂 but she’s mostly a track car so that doesn’t matter too much. Eventually I’m going to raise the compression and add a 5.0 stroker to see how NA power we can get! I love the power band on these NA motors and want to keep it that way. In my honest opinion it has been a really solid sports car platform to build off of because of the IRS. She does well on track.

      @jimmyjamesgarage3290  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! That's awesome. The 4vs do sound great! At 35k you got a lot of life left on that engine! What did you do suspension wise? I know my IRS will be needing me to go through it eventually....😒

      @@jimmyjamesgarage3290 In the IRS I did the Full Tilt Boogie Racing kit FT5001 with the adjustable toe links. You don't have to get that extreme but since I race it was a must for me. You probably need to replace the cross axis joints as well which you can find on the steeda website for cheaper.
      I have the stifflers web brace welded for rigidity, maximum motorsports coilovers, and the front suspension is all polyurethane bushings. I got the SVE bumpsteer kit from LMR and steeda ball joints too.

    I was very close to buying a one owner 98 Atlantic blue sn95 cobra. Unfortunately, it was a one owner used and abused so I passed on it. Bought a 97 Camaro SLP SS LT1 6 speed instead. Still a big fan of the 4v cobra 🐍 they sound awesome

    • @jimmyjamesgarage3290

      Camaro ss is definitely a good choice too. Push rod engines have the torque these 4valves lack down low.

    Can the recall on the 99-01 cobras still be done? I'm wondering because I heard a lot of people didn't take their 99-01 cobras to the recalls for their power upgrade from Ford.

    This guy act like nobody know about mustangs...its hard as hell to get 300 hp and plus out of a 2v gt and when you do its a lot of money....The 4v is not that hard to get 400 plus hp out the 4v like he wt you to think that's not true...l got both now 2v gt and 4v cobra like his you can get solid rear end with 410 or 373 gear cheap 11 sec is hard but not as hard as you think for the 4v but really hard for the 2v.....l Lol at this video on a lot mostly all...like the window part don't go down that's funny
