Helicopters Offer Three Unique Ways to Transport Cargo.
1. Internal Load - This is where the cargo is carried inside the helicopter`s cabin. The cargo is loaded and secured on the floor of the cabin and transported to its destination.
2. Hoist Operations - This is where cargo is lifted from the ground utilizing a hoist and places into the helicopter cabin or lowered from the cabin to the ground. This method is particulary useful in situations where there is limited access to the cargo.
3. External Load/ Underslung Load _ This is where the cargo is carried outside the helicopter, usually by means of a cable and hook system. The cargo is suspended beneath the helicopter and transported to its destination.
