  • Today we continue our How to Build a Ford Windsor Small Block series! Our build is a 347 stroker but is based on an original 302 V8 out of a 1981 Ford Bronco. This video is showing you exactly how to install the distributor, spark plugs, wires and, coolant temp sender. We are sponsored for this video and series by ‪@SummitRacing‬ and they have been the very best to deal with!

    I like this video for the sole fact that you are meticulous. This is the difference between an actual mechanic and a hack. Keep up the excellent work, I honestly appreciate the time taken and approach you chose.

    Great videos man. I started with your ls videos and the 454, I already have built a 302 and 408 Windsor stroker but the videos are fantastic. I find myself watching them all night. Great teacher.

    Can you show a video demonstrating where to plug the harness into that comes out of the distributor? Thank you

    Where can I order those intake plufs/heater core outlet/coolant temp sender?

  • @infinityprospectinginc2313

    I am having so many problems positioning distributor correctly. I'm at TDC, but unable to figure out exact location to point #1 plug/rotor. Engine starts, but is running poorly. Specs:1972 Ford Gran Torino 302

    Spark plug question: I know with newer cars platinum plugs are recommended but what about using them in older cars that used standard copper from the factory? What are your thoughts? Good, bad or doesn't matter? I ask because my dad puts them in his 88 vette that I'm pretty sure were copper from the factory in 88.

      It won't make an impact IMO. From my understanding it will "perform" worse but last much much longer. But it's splitting hairs if you ask me on the performance aspect. I'd prefer the longevity especially in a vette where the plugs are such a pain. Thanks for watching!

    Would heavy duty high temp wheel bearing grease work on on the gear?

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  Před 11 měsíci

      I'm sure it would be fine BUT for technical correct Andy's out there I have to recommend grease that will dissolve in oil like I did in the video. Thanks for watching!

    That distributor you installed is a standard stock hei one with a cast iron gear. Would that fit a standard 302 engine. My 79 F150 has HEI with a cast iron gear.
