Most helpful DIY video I’ve come across on CZcams… like ever. I’ve never changed a headlamp bulb in my life until 3am in the morning recently when, suffering from anxiety induced insomnia, I decided to fix mine in hopes I might calm down and avoid an inevitable traffic violation in the process. I have zero patience and I’m absolute crap at stuff like this, but thanks to this DIY video, I pulled it off like a pro!
In fact, when I sat my Mensa test the following day, I got in!!! I attribute it all to this video! Cheers!
(I feel like I shouldn’t need to state this, but the Mensa part of my comment is intended to be silly and is not in actually true. I feel like if I had been sitting a Mensa test that day though, it could have been true, but we will never know.)
Thanks! Called the local Ford dealer they told me 2hours work and that they had to remove the whole bumper to do it. Saved me $200 I suspect! Cheers!
Very helpful mate.
I miss the old days when you just slapped a bulb in the back in seconds.
Try pop up headlights. Easiest shit to replace bulbs on. You unscrew the plates on top of headlights and voila you're in.
Excellent instruction, done it in 10 minutes with your video on my mobile phone going through all the steps , thank you very much! !!!
Used this 3 years ago. Going to be using it again this morning. Thanks for providing such a useful and easy to follow resource.
Thank you so much GreasyPrimate! You saved me a trip to the garage as well as a bob or two! Your tutorial was spot on and yes, it's a bit a fiddly to pull out the unit once the screws have been removed but more importantly, it's easier to fit it back in! The job didn't take me more that 10mn! Very helpful video!
Absolutely excellent! Ford quoted AUD$65.00 Labour charge and then AUD$57.00 for the replacement bulb. Bulb at auto parts store = AUD$23.00, (for a Narva bulb, probably better than Ford's own brand anyway) 30 minutes of my time (grille/bumper not as easy to bend out and light unit can't now push inwards (on a MC model Mondeo) as easily as your model), but we got there. Thank you so much! It's criminal the to car companies make what used to be so simple, now so difficult (if not impossible (for most vehicle owners) on some models)!
Brilliant thank you so much for this, I would have given up and gone to Halfords without it.
Thank you so much for this. It made the all difference between success and breaking something and/or having to say bad words. FWIW, my 2012 Mondeo had little plastic 2-piece wedgee thingees rather than screws fastening the front bumper. Easy enough to pull them straight out vertically. And I found that removing one that was closer the centre (in addition to removing the one you showed) helped.
Very clear & concise instructions, even I could follow them! Thanks a bunch
Just replaced the low beam headlight on mine following your procedure.. great help thanks.
thanks a lot, this was the 2nd time I use your video to replace the bulbs. The hardest part was getting out the whole body of the headlight, I was always afraid of breaking it
As I looked under the hood behind the light assembly, I felt as though I wanted to throw up. How does one get their hand in there? I envisioned $$$. Then I came inside and brought up your video. GREAT! I changed both headlamps in 25 minutes and that included me having to get my magnet screwdriver to retrieve a dropped screw. Very clear video. Thanks Mate!
thanks this was very helpful . i replaced h1 and h7 sockets .
special note 1) i took two extra clips on top of the grill. this was to maneuver the headlight out.2) the h1 socket was more tricky to handle when putting in light bulb first .
Thank you very much, made perfect sense, worked an absolute treat.
Thank you for this. Just changed my offside dipped bulb successfully!
Brilliant instructional video. Saved me £20 at halfords. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much. This was a very clear and helpful presentation. Saved me paying Halfords for installing a bulb.
Very helpful, would have taken me all day without this video!
Saved my butt like 10 times already. Thank you!
Very useful thanks,.. had lost my workshop manual & this confirmed how easy it was to do without buying another manual
100% clear instructions - great job, Thanks!!!
Thanks for this vid. Made the job much easier and quicker (10 mins). Cheers.
Thanks, this was much more involved than I realised, thanks also for the bulb recommendations, my warning said "low beam" so I may well upgrade too
Excellent video, thanks, saved me a trip to the garage a splashing out dosh
It's easy to do because of your video. Took me less than 15 minutes. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Saved me much heartache and £21 at Halfords.
Thank you for your excellent video, I just changed mine in less than ten minutes!
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I did this a while ago without watching a video (how hard can it be??) but really struggled - took me about 25 mins! This time I saw your video and it was an absolute breeze. Thank you :)
Great video. Very well shot and excellent commentary. Off to do this little task now I've seen this! thanks.
Thank you so much, not too clear in the manual, but crystal clear with you, thanks again
Perfect! Thanks for taking me through it.
Made it real easy, would have struggled, nice one thanks, keep it up.
Thanks mate this saved me so much time and effort!
Excellent clear instructions, I'll be sure to re-watch when my 12 plate mk4 decides to blow it's bulbs. Getting the headlight out like like a bit of a mission but you have described in detail how to go about what looks like the most difficult part of the entire job.
One thing I will say is once you refitted the light unit there looks to be a small panel gap at the inside edge, something I expected to close up one you started screwing it back together but appears to still be there?
I needed your video today, great instruction, well explained. Thanks :-)
Nice one mate, thought it was gonna be a nightmare but was pretty simple
Thanks for sharing, it was very helpful!
Just what I looked for!
Thank you for the clear explanation. After seeing the video i drove to the garage to have it done. Not really that technical myself.. :-)
Lol
Hi Thanks ever much !!! I replaced it easily except for putting back the whole frame which was a bit fiddly. Saved me time and money.
This worked a treat, thanks so much!!
Cheers bud, worked a treat!
Thank you so much for showing us how to do this.
Amazing video! Thank you for saving my money on car mechanic.
Thanks dude - trying to ascertain this information from the Ford Modeo 2008 manual was not easy. No i have more of an idea of how to get access to the h1/h7 bulbs.
Thanks for the great video! The manual only was really not sufficient. And indeed, i also first tested the headlight before putting it back in :)
Just what I needed, thank you.
Thanks, very helpful and easy to follow!
Excellent video - I was able to change the bulb thanks to this video - thanks very much
Excellent video, just bought this model and one of the headlights has condensation in it. Thanks!
Thanks for the tips. That was really useful.
Thank you for this very helpful video.. if you’re ever in Brisbane I owe you a beer..
Thank you. This video was extremely helpful 👍.

Thank you so much for your video, it helped me tremendously.
Very helpful today. Thanks!
excellent instructions ,thank you
I really appreciate the guide. Thank you very much.
Excellent instruction, many thanks
Thanks for showing me the way!
On the facelift model I found it was necessary to remove both the screws securing the front grille and unclip it at the back in order to get enough movement for the headlight to pop out.
Thanks! Nice and easy with your guide.
cheers mate, very helpful :)
Super Tutorial. Thank You
Thanks a lot for the video! It is very helpful!
Has saved me from going to the garage. Thanks a lot.
So, to change a bulb u need to remove entyre headlight, thank u ford engineers, brilliant design.
At least you dont need to take off the bumper like on an alfa 159 or a rover 75
Saved me $80 thank you

Great encouragement for DIY. When fitting a new replacement does anyone know if the electric adjustment control should be set up or down
Very helpful mate.

Thanks a lot for posting. I have some condensation in my front left headlight unit, could I just use a hairdryer to dry it out at some point whilst it is out of the mount?
Thanks, very helpful.
Helpful. Many thanks.

Did this and passed MOT - legend
Thanks ....this will help me further. ...
Very helpful thanks!
I was always told NOT to touch the glass of those bulbs as the oil on your hands can cause breakage at high temperatures these bulb generate. Clean them with alcohol or metho before installation.
thanks bud very helpful
Ooh love a ford! Nice & simple unlike dumbass renault, great vid thanks, felt like replacing the gears for the hell of it lol lol lol
Thanks, how do you rate the night breakers? Did they last longer than a year?
Thanks you know your stuff!!
To remove, you press on the bottom tab of the connector. Do you need to press it to install as well?
great video, very useful, thank you very much for this
I have subscribed now :)
Awesome, cheers dude
I didn't notice that you cleaned the bulb with methylated Spirit prior to fitting. By doing this it ensures that the bulb doesn't have any finger grease which would cause the bulb to overheating blow. Great clearly explained video though.
Excellent Im off to change mine now.
Thanks for the video, without it I would have to go to a car service.
Thanks for the help
Would like to have seen the difference in each Headlamps brightness with the osrams fitted?
Perfect, thank you. Rob
Thanks a million!!
