Nice review! This Dyson is also very nostalgic to me, as my dad purchased a DC07 Animal from Target right at the end of 2007. It replaced a Bissell CleanView 8975 and became our daily driver for years to come. The Dyson introduced me to many modern features as well. I even learned how to vacuum with it, at the age of 13. The Dyson was a real trooper, with absolutely NO plastic broken on it whatsoever, and we all maintained it well. However, my mom and sister both have long, brown hair, and it ALWAYS got tangled in the brushbar; we've had to clean it so many times that the whole task doesn't even faze me. Sometimes, it took a few passes to get up surface dirt. Because I had a shedding Black Lab at the time, the inner cyclones got stinky after a few uses, not to mention that they were always loud. After several years of ownership in my old house, my parents divorced, and the Dyson became my mom's vacuum to use in her small, pet-free apartment. That always bothered me, so I bought her a new Hoover in early 2019 in exchange for the Dyson. Finally, a year and a half ago, after owning it for nearly 14 years, my dad suddenly sold the Dyson because he was baffled as to why my mom (his ex) didn't want it anymore. The following month, I retaliated against that sale by purchasing a used DC17 Animal off eBay; I fixed it up with some new parts, and the machine still works perfectly to this day.
You did an amazing job! I remember many people I knew who had a Dyson DC07 it definitely brings back many memories! I also remember seeing these in Sears and other retailers for a long time.
I’ve only had one Dyson it was a Dc 14 and I had it for a few months and it worked great but I wasn’t a Dyson guy never been so I took it to a goodwill
I actually prefer the hose/wand setup on the DC07. It might be more cumbersome than the DC14 and later wand setups but IMO its much more comfortable. Like you said its the same handle you normally have and I find the wand to be longer than on the later models, which is nice because I'm taller. For that reason my DC07 Animal served as my main bare floor machine with the Low Reach Tool, until I got a proper canister.
I agree that the hose and wand set up on the DC07 was superior to the current ball setup that gives you no handle. My parents had a DC07 and DC17 which both had the handle for using tools like the hard floor tool. When they got a DC41, the lack of a comfortable grip made using the wand an uncomfortable experience.
What is the official air watt measurement for the DC07 All Floors model, I've found some sites that say it's 250, some 270 and a few that say 300 which seems unlikely?
Whenever you have the setting to “bare floor” does the rotating bristle not spin in that setting? Mine doesn’t spin but when I use the carpet setting it does spin so just wondering if that’s normal

Very good Intellitech Studios!

Yes! That's what it's supposed to do
