@@kourtnie3609 In order to do a cover of a song that you can legally monetize and distribute, you obtain what's called a mechanical license (which most music publishers allow, since you're basically you're pay them to do their song, plus it's free advertisement for their original). If they did that, then Halocene rightfully owns this arrangement, and the show should've gotten the public performance license (which you also get from the music publisher in order to perform the song publicly, like on a TV show) through them, not Billie Eilish's publishing company.

Honestly, I couldn't give a shit about Billie until I heard Halocene's covers, namely this one. Now I dig it.
Halocene is REALLY good at showing me that the songs they cover are very well written and bringing out the best parts of them, enough that I'll end up appreciating the original a lot more.

There's a difference between asking permission and then tweaking it's content to make it your own and blatantly just take that said content and make it 100% identical without asking permission. Billie only own the original song and it's lyrics, not the said arrangements and how this cover tweak

This whole song gave me those musical shivers. I love the creativity and new intensity you guys brought to the song. I came from the Masked Singer video and just want to say what they did is unforgivable. The sad part is I’m sure they 100% knew it was a cover/original work from Billie’s Bad Guy but they figured the audience and public in general wouldn’t know any better. Disgusting. You guys are going to win this because it’s without a doubt yours.

I really think the rhythm and lyrics are all that’s the same. They took a rock and roll spin on it with the vocals and instruments and editing. It’s really good. Of course they can’t take credit for making the song cause Billie made it but they could easily make their own really incredible song. Their talent shows.
