I just started playing competitive and I’m in gold. I have not encountered a single player that was actually able to aerial successfully or even really attempt to do one.
He might not be talking shit, arials just don't matter as much as getting good hits on the ball in lower ranks. He might be able to hit these 30% of the time in freeplay, same way there are champs who can't do it 10% of the time
As a fellow C2 i see players vibin doin double resets and full field air dribbles and then theres me doin single resets and normal air dribbles getting 3 touches
If I was still gold by the time i could consistently do resets i would have to be trying to lose my matches, or just have the worst game sense in the world.
I can’t even Ariel at all and I be chilling in a high gold. I like to think of myself as a tactical midfielder I just get interceptions and cross the ball🤣
I think the skill disparity with diamond is pretty high. I predominantly play private matches with my high ranked friends, so my ability to save a shot from a high level player is far removed from my ability to take those shots. My speed and boost management is way different from my diamond counterparts. I was around 700 comp games in a season, now I barely get my rewards.

Rank has no direct correlation to air dribble abilities, practice does. Meaning that myself, as a C3 I know many diamond players that can air dribble and flip reset better than I can. But they’re still in diamond because that’s all they practice and suck at rotations
