  • In this video you can see me make what is called a “cube twist” drawer pull. It is a simple technique often demonstrated by blacksmiths to make handles and tools.

One of the absolute coolest things I've ever seen! Anybody can throw an old handle on a drawer. A few can make a handle to put on said drawer. But only Jimmy can take a rather mundane concept like a drawer handle and make something that's just downright cool. Absolutely fantastic.

This is why I love watching Jimmy's videos. He isn't just any skilled labourer; he's an artist! The guy isn't even a proper blacksmith and he created that masterpiece 🙇

hey jimmy, if you want an easy hold down tool with great holding power is an old motorcycle chain. fasten one end to the base that your anvil is on and on the other end weld on a piece of stock that is hitting the floor at a slight angle. pick up the chain put whatever you want held down under it and step on the end with the stock and your own weight holds the piece down.

I love how it just forms that way when twisted, amazingly cool looking chunk of steel. Now with all of the dirt and oil from hands it will look even more defined over time.
