- If you thought this advancement is already impossible, well, Mojang made it even more impossible, adding 6 new effects.
Video was recorded on snapshot 24w18a, the first snapshot to actually require the new effects for HDWGH, and as of full release of 1.21, it is still valid. - Hry

I'm pretty sure the only thing that changes in Hardcore is that raid gets more difficult, all other stuff stays basically the same.

I love achievements like this in Minecraft. In new versions, achievements appear that are very easy to complete, but this one only becomes more difficult and more interesting with each new version
Cause the achievements are also a form of tutorial, so new mechanics usually get some form of achievment
Especially because we got 6 effects in 1 update and 1 effect in 1.19

This wasn't really about despawning. Warden is just far more dangerous than a shulker, not only to me, but also to any other living creature, and here I have three mobs that I have to keep alive (shulker, dolphin, villager), so I'd prefer not to have a warden anywhere close. At least not until I get the advancement...

I don't think Mojang would ever make any advancement *literally* impossible. They specifically removed the Saturation effect because it lasts for less than half a second and would be incredibly difficult to get together with other ones.

if there's one positive thing i can say about mojang, its that they're incredibly thorough. people criticise them a lot for being "lazy", due to the glacial speed of significant new content being added. while the latter part of that sentence isn't wrong, you can just take one look at a major update's patch notes to see all the hundreds and hundreds of little things they added or tweaked. the reason major updates are so slow is because they're always working on polish first and foremost.
you can definitely disagree with this design strategy. i certainly do. but i can respect what they're going for. they play things very safe. i can't recall a single time mojang seriously broke even a minor feature outside of a snapshot.
i'm sure that this achievement is at the front of their mind with every new effect they add, and they'll make sure its possible in one way or another. even if they do break it, it'll get caught in a snapshot by the community and they'll have a solution out in time.

under slicedlime's video showcasing the 24w18a snapshot, somone was saying that the advancement is now impossible, and slicedlime ensured them that this isn't the case. so I guess they did test that

as for myself, I didn't try it, but I know what it is. The thing with some of those advancements is the absurd amount of time needed to complete some tasks, I really don't like doing such repetitive things as killing thousands of wither skellies to get hundreds of skulls to summon 64 withers.

It is entirely possible that they will add more omen-like effects, making the advancement even harder. Getting a warden into the end is obviously very difficult, but can be done if needed. A bigger problem will occur if such effect requires you to be in the nether, where dolphins can't survive for very long.
If you'll need to visit many places in quick succession to acquire all the omens people will probably make daylight detector synced pearl stasis, so you have let's say a 10 second window for getting each effect, before you get teleported to the next one.
Crazy tutorial! I think it's all a bit easier if you get a warden to world spawn! Regardless I'm very impressed that you managed to get it as a non all advancements speedrunner! I'll try and improve upon your video! Good stuff man!
yes, as said in the video, this can be done outside of deep dark. some other things I do are also a bit excessive, I don't think that chestplate is actually necessary... first I tried to do this with a normal golden apple, but absorption ran out too fast, so to slow it down, I tried to help myself with a chestplate, but then I realized that enchanted gapples exist.
tl;dr. can definitely be improved.

You can activate shrieker without the sensor, you can just step on the top of the shrieker

I love this advancement, I would like for more content about this.
I can't stop thinking about what it would be like to add the effects of some mods to the achievement, like Alex's Mobs for example.
I played some mods back when Minecraft was simpler, but now it's so complex that I don't really need mods... so I don't know much about what's happening currently in the modding community.
But from what I read on the Alex's Mobs wiki, this would be complete madness (which sounds like lots of fun lol)

yesssss thank you !! what a great video ! ever since they did the omen overhaul, ive been wondering how this would be incorporated to this challenge. someone said they cancel each other out so mojang wouldn't count them as three separate effects. clearly that's not the case tho and tbh im so glad, that is so cool to set up and execute. i can't wait to try on my own world soon

Also, to make it less dangerous with having to deal with warden spawning. You can spawnproof the 11x11x13(height) area in which warden can spawn around the shrieker, this way you'll have the 15s darkness effect given by it when activated without having to worry about a potential Warden killing you after or even before getting the advancement.
Yes - but, as Nerdy1729 pointed out earlier, it would be simpler to just activate the shrieker by standing on it. Would require a slightly modified layout though, but that prevents all accidental warden spawns 100%.

If you do this again, I'd recommend making a warden switch though. By spawn proofing all of the blocks around the shrieker, you will still get darkness but with no warden spawning. You could even make a system to automatically activate it with an arrow you shot so you only have to be in range instead of having to worry about doing another thing.
There are simpler ways to be safe than a warden switch, but thanks anyway for the tip
feinberg actually made a video going through how he would do hdwgh (unlisted, a link is on his twitter), but he definitely does it in a more speedrunner-y way with minimal setup, whereas yours i can defo see being more viable for the average player. but there are a couple things from his vid that could defo improve this method.
for example, instead of positioning the villager and crossing a chunk border to have bad omen after raid omen you can just kill the villager after you get raid omen. also, you can eat the gapple last while you're in the wither rose so you don't have to worry about the absorption running out.
using a warden instead of a shrieker is actually not that hard, you can transport it with the nether roof and trap it in a nether portal, and as long as you position all the mobs more than 16 blocks away the warden it can't attack them, and you only have to be within 20 blocks of it to get darkness. this significantly reduces the setup time since you dont have to dig down to a shrieker and get the dolphin, villager and shulker there, but i can definitely understand why you wouldn't want to do it, especially in hardcore xD
still, props for figuring all this stuff out, and making a really engaging and entertaining video out of it :D
I can confirm that this is a lot of text.
My setup is designed to have the most room for error: when I get the advancement, there's like full 4 seconds of all the effects stacked on top of each other. Definitely not the fastest and I'm not surprised that feinberg won't use this method.
Killing the villager is an idea but... I mean... that's kinda morbid yknow... and also, every attempt requires another villager.
Eating the apple last also works, but I just wanted to have less things to do in the time-critical period.

HDWGH is different from advancements like Adventuring Time.
With Adventuring Time, every time Mojang adds a new biome, you lose the advancement and have to go find new biomes to complete it again.
With HDWGH, once you complete it, you have it forever (on that world). New effects being added don't remove the advancement.

i had a really fast way of getting hdwgh for 1.20, but 1.21 i really am gonna analyze all the new effects especially the raid omen and see if there is any way i can make it easier
Everything can be mastered if you try hard enough.
Minecraft keeps adding all these insane Advancements that make for WONDERFUL content.
From the strictly new ones in 1.21, Over-Overkill and Blowback are very fun to do.
We can get the luck effect from the arrow that the villager gives us when successfully defending the village (a gift from a villager with a hero effect)
And the saturation effect with a suspicious stew

As for Saturation, that is true (effect lasts for less than half a second tho). As for Luck, it was true only for a couple snapshots in 1.14 and removed before the full release of 1.14

correct, but there is a 30-second cooldown, caused by Raid Omen. this is yet another effect you need for HDWGH. in total you need four ominous bottles here

Idk about that. It's not really more dangerous than the 1.19 version, it's just more complicated.
It seems to me that since the 1. 19, for these achievements you only need the potion effects that are fabricable as speed. It is no longer necessary to have the other effects like bad omen or hero of the village

Furious Cocktail is all potion effects, has a milk bucket as an icon, and is visible in the advancements tab before you complete it. How Did We Get Here is all effects, not just potions, it has an empty bucket as icon, and is not visible in the advancements tab before you complete it.
Are you sure the darkness effect has no icon? It does in 1.19, was it removed at some point?
what I meant more precisely:
Darkness from natural sources (both from shrieker and from warden) does not have an effect icon in the top-right corner. However Darkness does have an icon seen in the inventory (but you can't see that during HDWGH among tens of other effects), and if applied by /effect command, then Darkness also has an icon in the top-right corner. This is the only effect that behaves like that.

hmmm... maybe i am wrong, but i think normal gold apple with alle the beacon effect and onr more potion would work too?
Golden apple would have to be eaten last, but yes, a second beacon with Resistance and a potion of Fire Resistance should work (haven't tested it tho).
I decided to use an enchanted gapple so I have one less thing to remember during the final sequence

You could get luck arrows and have even more effects on at once lmao.
According to minecraft wiki, Luck arrows were a thing only for a couple of snapshots of 1.14. I didn't test that, but what I did test and I can assure you is that in current versions they are unobtainable in Survival.

it could be the reason why there are brewable potions for 4 of those effects. otherwise, if they were all exclusive to trial chambers, this would become next to impossible

and yes, they keep adding new effects, but they also keep adding new ways of getting old effects. before wither rose was added, you needed a wither skeleton nearby to hit you
I never done How Did We Get Here because my brain will just stop functioning and I'll get so frustrated so quickly.
With every update it gets more difficult, as they keep adding new effects. Maybe you should try it in 1.12, when it was added? Back then, it required only 21 effects.
Alternatively, new versions include the /tick command, you can use it to slow down time in-game , this also should help with HDWGH.

Really interesting setup! I think AA speedrunners would use this setup more often than mine's.
AA speedrunners wouldn't probably use my setup, it's slower to bring everything to deep dark than to bring a warden to world spawn. My setup was made in a way that maximizes the room for error, definitely not to minimize time spent.

If the new effect they added somehow makes the Advancement impossible; they are obviously simply not gonna include it at all (i.e. Luck, Bad Luck, Saturation, Instant Health and Instant Damage), it was never about getting every single effects already.
