Homeless in the USA: Cities Granted Authority to Clear Homeless Encampments

- Cities in the U.S. can now enforce bans on homeless people sleeping outside in public places.
The Supreme Court ruling means they'll have the ability to clear out encampments.
But activists have planned a rally in Washington DC on Saturday to highlight the poverty faced by tens of millions of people.
Something they say isn't being treated as a major issue this Presidential campaign.

Some Beverly Hills residents and business owners are expressing concern for their safety as homeless encampments expand along this affluent city’s border with Los Angeles.
The encampments have appeared along San Vicente Boulevard near Orlando Avenue, just south of the upscale Beverly Center shopping mall. Residents reported seeing a homeless woman, who they believe was intoxicated, lying naked on an abandoned couch.
Instead of arming Israel and Ukraine, US tax payer money should be spent on infrastructure, healthcare, education, homelessness...
Most of what goes to Ukraine is military hardware from money already spent, not straight up cash. Can't eat Bradley fighting vehicles or put milk on cluster munitions and call it cereal.

Actually, he is probably malnourished, which means that although he is overweight, he is not getting the nutrition's he needs, it is very common with poor people in countries that have processed foods. The food provides calories, but not what a body needs to function in a healthy way. For many poor people, the cheaper foods are often highly processed. So next time you look at an overweight person, look at what is in their grocery cart.

There's so many working poor. We have full-time jobs, pay bills, mortgages and rent, and car payments etc. But still can never get ahead. Food costs so much! I buy generic and with coupons as much as I can.

You should include that ONE presidential candidate, Dr. Jill Stein running with the Green Party, prioritizes addressing poverty and homelessness way above military spending. Denver had a program that gave individual homeless people a $1000 and it seems to be showing positive results. I'm really paraphrasing here so check out secular talks video on it.

I have advocated for the homeless here in Santa, Clara county, California and all I see is corruption is why a lot of this doesn't work. I have a simple plan that would take care of a lot of the R VS off the street that people are living in, but they're more willing to spend $35000 for our tiny home that nobody wants to live in and a lot of the people already have our vision that can instantly. Be off the street but nobody wants to listen cause they can't make money off it.

The best way to end poverty is to end governments and the laws of human nature will take care of things.
Does that guy look like he is starving? He is not. Americans are the fattest poor people you will ever see. The issue is not lack of food, the issue is the availability of junk food over healthy food. And with the homeless the overwhelming issue is the easy availability of drugs, and the lack of available mental health and addiction services. The other issue is you can’t make people accept treatment and housing life on the streets is so much easier when they are handed free everything - food, tents, clothing, drugs. The other issue is the lack of affordable housing as corporations gobble every house on the market.
the third issue is the ridiculous amount of money thrown at homelessness with absolutely no provable tangible results, much caused by the insane regulations to build anything.
