I have the terminal and I just purchased the Square Stand. I didn't take it out of the box yet but I just learned that it needs to have power in order to work. I only sell books and I'm debating if I should keep it or not b/c I had to buy an iPad as well. I like the idea but I dislike that it's not compatible with the 10th Gen Ipad so hopefully, Apple keeps making the 10.2 size. I really like the idea so thank you square I'm just not sure if I should keep it since I have the terminal.

Can the new stand be used with the SDK? I'd like to build a custom application for iPad but use the Square Reader SDK with it. The new device looks great and with an amazing price point.

Can the new ipad air's work with this? The size on mine is 10.9? Someone Help!

What's the setting for not letting the screen go into sleep mode?
Search in the settings app.
I go to farmers markets no power can I use this if its charged?
The Square Stand requires connection to the power outlet at all times in order to work. Our Square Terminal and Contactless Chip Reader do work wirelessly when fully charged.

Is there a way to prevent people from pressing the home, power, and volume buttons?
There’s a setting in the iPad called “guided access” where if you triple tap the Lock Screen button, it’ll give you an option to lock the screen to be only on the app you’re on. If anyone tries to leave the app or process any other buttons nothing will happen

Will this work directly with wifi or do you have to use the hub? What happens if you go offline or lose wifi connection? Will it back up the sales?
I would like to use this in an honesty shop. Is there any way to keep the tablet from being taken out of the stand or the entire stand being taken from the counter?
Thank you for your interest! The iPad can connect to WiFi or use an Ethernet cable with the hub. The Stand can be secured to your countertop sing the adhesive plate or drill hardware included in the box.
Getting help with Restaurant square in Canada is abysmal. Called 4-5 times. Every time a different answer. Been a square customer for 5+ years and all of this confusion has me wanting to find another POS system all together. It's like none of the employees on the phone have ANY idea of how to add a restaurant to an already existing business. So frustrating! theres also little to no information on connecting kitchen printers, nor does square sell their own. It's like the platform in Canada was launched before ready.

What exactly is the hub for ?
Use Hub to connect accessories such as a cash drawer, bar code scanner, or external receipt printer to Square Stand. You can also use it to connect your Stand to the internet via Ethernet.
Is this compatible in Jamaica?
We appreciate your interest in Square but we are not available in Jamaica. Card payment acceptance with the Square app is currently available in the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, France, and Spain. We currently don’t support payment card processing outside of these countries.
