    If you take a cotton bud and remove the cotton of the end then use a tiny pieces of blu tak over the end, its quite handy for picking up photo etch items that you may find forceps to be a little precarious for possibly crushing, also for a assembly blu tak makes a good support medium for temporary holds. Best wishes for your build

    "Though she was laid down as an Amagi-class battlecruiser, Akagi was converted to an aircraft carrier while still under construction to comply with the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty. The ship was rebuilt from 1935 to 1938 with her original three flight decks consolidated into a single enlarged flight deck and an island superstructure. The second Japanese aircraft carrier to enter service, and the first large or "fleet" carrier."

    It's perhaps not very clever to show how you seperate part after part from from the brass plate, then stick them together, all this lasting several minutes. If you show one such examplary procedure and then go on to the next step, you could tighten the whole assembly considerably...

      Correct, the Akagi and Kaga were converted from battlecruiser hulls after the Washington Naval treaty limited total displacement. The American Lexington class were also converted under the same circumstances.

    Why the thick bulky gloves.....and why not use superglue instead if the gooey stuff you are using...

  • @RobertoRMOLA
    @RobertoRMOLA Před 2 lety +1

    That's really an intricate work. Two things I didn't like:
    1) The use of gloves only disturb the quality required to assemble this kit (I'll never understand such popular preciousness spread in plastic kit modeling CZcams channels...). That's a piece of equipment I would use only for auto or engine repair, or something heavy and very dirty, for instance. In the assembly of plastic kits modeling what is MOST DESIRED is extreme delicacy, especially when assembling photo-etched parts. The use of gloves only harmed you, making your work VERY difficult due to reduction in fingers tact. The glues are used in so tiny quantities that hand or finger protection is virtually non required. Moreover, gloves can easily spread unwanted chemicals to other sensitive parts of the kit.
    2) The glue quantity used to assemble each individual photo-etched parts and its assemblies was humongous! The toothpick used as an applicator (or something similar) was very thick and blunt. A sewing needle or pin would be more suitable. I was able to see at the end of the video several undesirable blobs or beads of glue in certain trusses connections...
    Sorry for not living up to your expectations, but this kit must be quite expensive, and as such, requires a more patient and rigorous approach.
