Great job!
I'm blown away by how hard you two work and you work so well together. 2 thumbs up guys. so impressed
My thoughts exactly
My thoughts exactly
If it was my wife and I doing this together, one of us would end up buried in the middle of the woods half way in the middle of the project. Great team work and my hats off to you on your level of tolerating each other! 🤪
You two are so stinkin' cute, the way you work so well together, touch food (toasting one another) before you eat, etc. Love the content and so appreciate your work ethics.
probably lots of editing LOL
You guys have single handedly built an airplane hangar!!! I can't believe you did it and I felt exhausted just watching you! Kudos to you both 🎉
We’re not just following along, but cheering you on!! Absolutely amazing work!! You deserved way more than a sandwich to celebrate! Pop the bubbly! 🎉🎉🥂🥂🍾
But oh what a unique sandwich that was! Yummy!
I swear, you two can absolutely do anything. There is no job you can’t conquer. Love spending time on your homestead. Bravo!!!!!
It is soooo AWESOME‼️ you 2 are incredible‼️‼️‼️7,000 bolts and all those panels‼️It is soooo huge😊‼️ 7 days of constant work- WOW‼️I hope you will both REST before you start any other projects‼️‼️‼️
I love that Ariel admitted that the two of them aren't always on the same page, and struggle at times working together. (tightening the bolts) It makes me admire you even more, because despite your differences, you forge ahead and get things done, together. You two are blessed to have each other. I want to thank you for sharing a life well done. In a world divided, you prove that working together, is the best option for all. Congratulations for accomplishing yet another monumental goal! Greetings from Michigan!
I’m so thankful that you two keep it so real with how taxing this kind of work is! Emotionally physically and mentally. Its easy to watch a video like this and only see the good parts, not realizing all the tough parts, the arguments, the silences are edited out. I’m glad you share what the experience was really like!
Facts. It amazes me that people believe they do all this work together DAILY and they agree on everything with no disagreements. 😂 Sadly people with that kind of mindset chase a relationship like they “see on social media” only to never find it! It’s amazing the way adults can believe everything they see on a video without realizing it’s been edited to enjoy nothing more. No relationship is without fault. They are working hard to build a great homestead though…. Both seem like great people! I’ve never been to AK but I’m so fascinated with the idea of watching people build their dreams there….
I’ve said it before, and everyone else says the same thing and probably better - You. Are. Incredible. Herculean effort, someone said - Yes! You work your socks off. Brave too. I know Airielle doesn’t like heights and there she is, gamely climbing to the top. Eric just figures it out, works around whatever the problems you meet, refusing to give in. And I just watched him run across the top! Aaaargh! I have so much admiration for you both.
I can really see how a clean, dry, lighted and heated workshop will make a huge difference on all of your projects, especially during the long winter. Good job!
Long before the end of this video, I have to say that your determination, grit, and Human Spirit are a credit to anyone that has a challenge ahead of them...!!!!!!!!
And your innovation as you encounter obstacles!
You two are without a doubt the most self sufficient people I’ve ever seen…a true example of WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY! Congrats on your new addition …incredibly hard work ..just listening to you talk about the building of this is exhausting and I simply can’t imagine! What a well oiled machine the two of you make… such a compliment to one another…stay blessed❤️
Editing and cinematography in the tightening montage is top-notch! Somehow you made 7,000 bolts entertaining.
I have to say. You two are rockstars. You are tackling projects that you have never done. I’m simply blown away by your determination and teamwork! You both should be so proud of yourselves. You both are inspirational to so many people. Well done!💕💕💕💕
I hope you hear me leaning over the balcony of your lives cheering you on!! You guys are truly AMAZING!!!
🥰 we appreciate that!!
Absolutely love your tenacity and Hard work. You both are truly amazing. Looking forward to the next video..
You guys are amazing..... that was some undertaking for sure👍🏻 👍🏻Have a good evening Eric & Arielle .... take care 🚜🔧
I’ve never looked forward to ANY tv show or movie in my 46yrs as much as I do Simple Living Alaska! Seems like just yesterday you guys were doing chicken videos and how to make “Garden Tea” before you moved up. Amazing job on everything and as always thanks so much for the time you spend making these videos! ❤
Amazing! The fact that you two decided you were going to tackle this project on your own and have now seen it through to this point speaks volumes about your collective will and determination. Kudos for a job well done!
I wish I was eating at your house tonight. Everything you make looks incredibly delicious. 7000 bolts will test a marriage. You two passed with flying colors. Great job! Bon appetit!
That was a crazy amount of work that you both did with all the challenges you had to deal with. You both must have been thoroughly exhausted every day. You have said all the projects to come and i will be looking forward to them. You really work so well together. Until your next video, take care and be safe.(Judy NB)🌲🇨🇦
You guys are an inspiration to many! You guys are a great example of what the USA was founded on! Hard work, persistence, grit, and teamwork! You all make it look so easy, which I know it is not! So proud of what you guys are doing! Anything is possible! Sweat Equity, and so rewarding once the final projects are completed! Makes those peaks and valleys so worth it. Absolutely love your channel!
The spray foam will also help with the structure because it will 'glue' all of the pieces together. You might also consider building out some smaller rooms in the hut that include ceilings and set that space aside for the stuff that really needs to avoid freezing because if you put some fiberglass insulation in those partition walls and ceiling you'd really improve the heat retention in that space.
You might also want to seriously check out grounding requirements if you haven't yet. That hut is tall and metal, and lightning... Well, just make sure you take that into account and consider a properly functioning lightning rod.
It’s generous of you to share your lives as you do. You highlight both your joy and challenges and this balance and emotional honesty shine, thank you.
Your comment deserves more likes. This is exactly how I feel. What a gift.
Beautifully put!
You both deserve every little bit of happiness, you both have created for you both & your pets. The reason i gave up TV,is because of i never got to see, people like you both, create a lovely true story for your selves. TV is false,i do not do it @ all. Have a nice life, you both!
I'm impressed that despite your lack of experience you forge ahead and work together to get things done. . That's not easily done. Congratulations in a job well done.
You two are perfect for each other!
Totally committed to each other
I absolutely agree
An amazing team!
You two are amazing.!
They are soul mates. Made for each other.
You two blow my mind! I don't think I have ever seen two young people work together and accomplish all that you have. You are so determined to accomplish whatever you set your minds to. I think once rested up a little from assembling the Qhut, you will look at it and say oh yah we can get them ends done too! Arial, I see a massive storage room for all your canning, a cool area for fresh veggies like cabbage, potatoes, carrots, etc. You will have a great space and setup for all your canning, with all your processing needs right at your fingertips. No more carring stuff across the snow and putting in a cones or freezer, it will be under one roof in one area! You both should be soooo proud at what you have done.
WOW!!! This couple AMAZES !!! THIS IS A HUGE FEAT & ACCOMPLISHMENT!! THEIR ‘TEAM- WORK’ IS A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR ALL!!! CONGRATS!!!! THIS IS TRULY A BEAUTIFUL STRUCTURE !!!! ❤❤❤😊👍💪🙏❤ HOPE THEIR HAPPY & PROUD OF THEMSELVES, THEY DESERVE TO BE!!❤🥰🥰❤️☝️🕊🇺🇸☀️💪🌟❤️🙏🙏
The hut has come up a total treat!! I can now see why you planned on this for the Summer build.... smart move guys. :)
Eric, your skills are literally through the roof. It's mind blowing that two people built this.
He gets dangerously creative with their equipment. Been watching since they 1st moved to Alaska. No major injuries.
Who else loves to watch Eric's reaction when he tries food 😅
Literally waiting for him to say it was "the best ever" 😂
Oh my gosh 🤣😂
Oh my gosh! 😂
If they ever sell merch then one of their shirt slogans should definitely be "oh my gosh"
Wait for Eric to say he loves the food so much, then scroll the comments to make sure someone started a thread. 🤌
Absolutely a team victory for the two of you Eric and Arielle!👏🏻
Your tenacity with everything you tackle, from something small to a large project, is absolutely inspiring to watch...thank you for taking us along on your many journeys👌🏻
Kind regards and be safe👍🏻
Congrats Eric and Arielle. What an accomplishment. You guys are such hard workers with a no quit until done attitude. Eric you are so are so inventive. Love your home made tool. Glad you guys finished up with an awesome fish sandwich. You deserve it! Thanks for sharing your life journey with your CZcams family.
That metal building is hard enough for a crew of 4. Incredible that the 2 of you were able to get it done.
What a monumental task! Good job on the build 💪👍
What an awesome structure. You must feel so proud on completing this. WOW. An excellent way to celebrate with that mouth watering salmon burger. Congratulations Arielle & Eric. I was so looking forward to this video.
Excellent job Guys, when you get to use the heated quintet hut you'll look back and smile. The day "That was worth it!!"
What? A new video on Tuesday? Thank you!
What a team you are! The hut is going to be life altering. You will be able to do so much in that space.
Congratulations on such a huge project. That's what makes you among my favorites to watch. Smart, hard working, indominable spirits, capable of so much by working together...and it shows. Nice job Eric and Arielle. 35 years from now you'll appreciate everyday that you built it. Be care and safe.
Would never think of eating mozzarella with salmon but it looks delicious especially with Ariel’s sauce. It’s terrific the way the two of you worked so hard together to build this great “hut”. What an accomplishment. Good job ..can’t wait to watch you again.
Yeah, the mozzarella threw me a little. That spread though looks delicious 😋
Same! I’ve been taught that dairy doesn’t go with fish, but that combination did look delish!
It's so big. You can hide a B-1 bomber in there. Looking forward to the next episode.
WOW! You guys did awesome! The shop is a massive monster!!! Great job!
I cannot believe you both did it. You are an amazing couple and totally in sync. You are incredible to watch and how you work things out. I have watched 5 man trying to put one of these together and they had some job and a lot of stress. So once again we’ll done on such an amazing achievement. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
It's looks very delicious love the meals that she prepares for her husband you are so fortunate to have a wife like you have right now if she used to you too and she is so fortunate to have you too you make such a lovely couple praise Jesus that you had found one another
Eric and Arielle you two are the most hardworking couple on YT, or at least top 5. I hope everything goes well for you before winter sett in so you guys survive the winter in the new place? Give the four legged animal a hug and a kiss from Norway. you are the best and keep those vids coming please.
I love how exciting Eric is tasting the food they make he makes it so appetizing 😆
Yeah, I’m happy for you two.
The way you both work so hard together and prove that you end up with great results. You two are both awesome role models. ❤❤❤❤❤
Well Said!
it looks great!! BUT truthfully the real work starts now, the lights, the insulation the heat the end walls!! you 2 will get it done & it will be awesome... it just takes time & money!! thanks for sharing & be safe out there!!!
Congratulations on such a huge accomplishment. It is so much bigger than I thought it was going to be, and the fact that you had no help is a testimony to how strong your relationship is! I look forward to watching future content from within those walls.
You folks have accomplished a ton!!!!! Thanks for taking us all along!!!!!
One of my favorite parts of watching your videos is the amazing team work you two demonstrate, working together, supporting each other, and accomplishing the hard together. I am fully aware, it's not always roses and beautiful, however with the teamwork you are able to overcome the challenges a build a beautiful life together.
A massive task for a team of workers, done by two!! WOW!!!!! welldone
You both should be very proud of the work you’ve accomplished already. That is not an easy task building that big building. Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
You two are the hardest working people I have ever seen. What a beautiful structure. You should be so proud of yourselves. ❤👏
The beeping from the lift was driving my dogs crazy. I think they're glad you're done too. There's no better feeling than getting summer projects done and getting things tucked away for winter. You'll be so happy being able to have all your equipment under a roof
Not just the dogs, me too 🤪
😆 my dogs, too!
My dog too!
Loved the fast-forward build! Oh...that bucket of bolts! I would have been insane!
Loved watching this!
I don’t know if the kit which comprises all the panels which make up the Quonset build mentions it, but I reckon you should seriously consider the addition of a solid copper strip bolted firmly to the very top of the installation, and fastened all the way down to the base, and then terminated to an Earth rod punched into your ground for a distance of at least ten feet. This would act as Lightning protection, as you are now the owners of a single high metallic structure, slap bang on the perimeter of your property, which will act as a magnet for any electrical storm in your vicinity. The copper strip should measure about 2 inches by ¼ inch, and should be properly terminated to the Earth rod. Hope this helps.
The building seems very solid. The amount of work that you guys do is phenomenal.Congratulations on a Herculean effort.
Quonset is an Algonquin word meaning "small long place." ("Quasimodo" certainly isn't small!) The first metal quonset huts were manufactured on Quonset Point in North Kingstown, RI, where there used to be a Navel Air Station. Such a great accomplishment for you guys! It is HUGE! ❤
Well well well look at Mr Websters Dictionary
Congratulations on completing your quonset hut, that truly was a lot of work and it looks really nice and I’m sure you will get a lot of use from having such a space. Thank you for sharing take care and be well 😎
The consistent teamwork you both put into every activity is awesome. The steel building looks fantastic. Still in awe at the 7000 bolts that needed to be installed and then tightened. You proved that hard work and ingenuity really pays off time after time. 👍👍👍🤩🥇🏆❤
SO proud of you two! My husband says I’m obsessed with “the kids in Alaska.” Well, yes I am. 🥰You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us.
That’s dedication!! And a value upgrade to the property!! Way to hang in there guys!!👍😜
A lesson in how to make the tightening of 7000 bolts interesting. Just wow! You deserved those salmon melts.
To say that the stuff you pull off every time is amazing really is a major understatement. 😮 I mean, wow, you guys!
Wow, this was a tremendous undertaking, and you did it. The workshop is enormous.I can see you doing so much in there. The celebratory dinner looks delicious!! Great work!!
ONE of your most endearing qualities, that I love so much, is your ability to creatively design & create a solution to overcome ANY obstacle that you encounter !!!!!!
BRAVO Eric & Arielle 👏👏👏👏
Watching you drive the scissor lift onto the trailer, I knew those 2x6's were going snap..... because I have done things similar to it - recently. I was loading a "loaded" tractor tire into my vehicle. That is what I like about this channel. It is real. Stuff happens it is part of the story. I am glad you keep it all in.
Good thinking on the homemade tool. What you have made is called a 'bull pin'. These are used, as you did, to line up adjacent holes, especially on structural steel, girders, beams and columns. They are manufactured with
a blunt end for striking, or an adjustable open end wrench (crescent wrench, in the slang vernacular) opposite the tapered end on other models. Look at you humans, building tools and such.
The workshop is looking really great
and you both have done a magnificent
job building it,Thanks for showing it
being built here and Thank You for
your videos Take Care.🌞👍
Independently inventing the spud wrench is pretty awesome. Excellent work!
Patent that thing immediately
Congratulations!!!! I'm finding myself redefine "productivity" and "hard-working" ever since I subscribed to your channel and following your journey along!
You guys are so so so hard-working and I can't help but smile with your accomplishment. I'm genuinely so happy for you, that thing is massive and I'm still in awe.. How can that be a 2 person job, just HOW!!
The Hut seems so solid already :-) Congratulations again and can't wait for your next video!
+) I don't know why but I find it so joyful when I see you guys being comfortable in front of the camera :-)
We are so impressed about what you two have accomplished.
You set the mold for others to follow your work ethic
Being a SUPERINTENDENT in the military in charge of Heavy Equipment/Construction all over the world,I must say you both have shown the World a Will Do,Can Do positive work ethic and attitude as a man and woman team.
Me and the wife are blown away from the start of the pad to the last 7000th both.
Super job.Kudos to you both.
Matter of fact a contractor couldn't have done better and time wise.
I know you both will forever be proud because you both can say."We Did It,".A long lasting memory forevermore
Congratulations U2 on a Superb job from start to finish.
And I thought bolting my raised garden beds together was a lot of work! Awesome effort by you two. 🇦🇺
WOW!!!!!! the fact that just the two of you assembled this is IMPRESSIVE! I have said it before, but seriously, you both are a inspiration! I seriously believe you both could teach couples how to get along with each other and make their relationships better. Way to go! I truly love watching your videos! Awesome work! You both are going to be so stoked on that building!!!!! I am beyond envious! The food looks awesome! Please show more of your cat too LOL!
You two are so fun to watch. We just love your channel. We learn so much too! The cinematography is always stunning! Thank you for all you do.

For two people to erect a very complex building so quickly you have done a fantastic job well done and a very good video too Congratulations enjoy your meal.
Hello it’s February 29, 2024 and I’m looking at your Quonset hut project again I think the third time I’ve watched it it’s amazing everything you both too is just awesome !!!!!!!!!!
I am an older person that would’ve loved to done the things you’re doing just wondering how you got into this adventure in the beginning I know you came from I think the state of Oregon I watch some of your videos in the very beginning and trying to establish WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR DRIVING FORCE IN THE AMAZING LIFE ADVENTURE !??!
Thank you for letting Us all come along with your wonderful day by day life 👍👏💁
I'm so jealous of the people who just stumbled onto this channel.
The amount of content is incredible. The quality of content is incredible.
I am SO impressed. That hut is huge…I can just imagine you out there doing projects all winter long. I was wondering how you were going to close the ends off so I’m glad you shared that. To be honest, I was worried at the first that you two would not be able to finish it without help…how proud your loyal followers are on what you have accomplished. Hugs to the furry kiddos and you two also. ❤️👍👍
We watch you all, on a regular basis! Two retirees, wishing we had your energy! Love you and your sweet dogs and of course Pepper! We have 2 cats! Keep giving us your wonderful vieos! Jack amd Patti Miller, Brookville, Ohio
If the people manufacturing this shelter were thinking of the folks who assemble them...
They would source a bolt that had a non-round (as-in square, hex or oval) base under-head as a small protrusion. The pre-punched holes in the tin would have similar but slightly undersize hole pattern. Then no more need to hold outside head when tightening.
Nice job folks. Congratulations.
Hell of a job you two did, glad you got done. Been on a lot of construction site working and this project was hard compared to the thing I worked on. And just the two of you. That sure is some really good teamwork. You will sleep well for the next few days.
You guys have worked your tails off and accomplished something not many could do. Congratulations.
You both are one of the hardest working couples I have seen. We still try, but after many years and multiple times to Alaska, one of us just gets tired now. Should have started out in our 20's and 30's too. We love watching the work you all do and your down home personality. Bless you on your adventures!!!
Hi Folks a Job well done ,,That was a big job takes a lot of patience and hard yakka ..You should be proud of your two cheers 😄❤️👍🦘🇦🇺🙏🇺🇸

This thing is so much bigger than I imagined, what a nice workshop
Commercial construction professional for 45 years, you remind me of the teamwork between my wife and I as we have developed our property in West Central Texas. So proud of you, great job!!
Congratulations on building the HUT. An amazing project/job well done. Working together seems enjoyable between the both of you. Your hard work and determination is paying off. WOW you guys are amazing!!! What an accomplishment. That’s what I call team work and determination!
Fantastic job! One of the best I seen on You Tube. You two should be very proud of your work.👍
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... you guys are amazing!!! Great work!
Is there anything you two cannot do? You are amazing. Your spirit of willingness in taking on any project and learning as you go is wonderful. HOPE NO LEAKS😊
A suggestion, take the one wall you wont use or put a door in and put a container on that side and open it up for storage. It will free up space inside of that hut!
