He definitely doesn’t know how to drive a Mercedes.. every time he lost he was in between automatic and manual shifting. Using the paddles in automatic is gonna result in short shifting every time because the transmission automatically wants to upshift before you get close to red lining; so it’ll actually up shift about a half of a second before you go to hit the paddle

First race was off by galaxies. Getting 13+ in a Durango Hellcat is doing close to SRT territory. Something awfully wrong happened there. Second and 3rd races are what you'd experience.

I only ran 12s when I didn’t use torque reserve so this might be a driver/launch issue. I can hit 11.6-11.7 on the regular now leaving with 3psi
People don’t realize the transmission difference. The amg has a 9spd dct. Which is why it’s acceleration is that good for 100hp deficit but ultimately the Durango hp won out
@@ericship8383 it did but dct are typically tuned for acceleration. It was heavier but not by too much. Plus the Germans are known to rate their hp number lower than what they make
He got the weight of the durango incorrect. It's much heavier. The Hellcat Durango weighed 5842 lbs on the wayto the track (Sam never asked me the weight)
It hurts my heart but a GLS63 would lose to the Durango.😩 I think GLE63 coupe is Mercedes fastest AMG SUV. So if that lost then the GLS will too. You would probably need a Brabus GLS built to vs. the Hellcat Durango.

Must be the 9 speed dual clutch transmission helping the Merc.
It's a multi point clutch, better than DCT. Yeah the gearing on the Merc is very good (close gearing).
The Durango can be put to 1000hp for $8600 and would kill this all day long. Still under 100k with warranty is insane.
