    In today's video, Chuck continues the video series on making a belt pouch. This series will show how to make the pouch from start to finish, spending some extra time on tools and materials that can be used in your shop to aid in your leatherworking. In this third video, Chuck shows how to wet mold the front panel of the pouch and tool the feather pattern onto the closure flap.
    Join us next week for Chapter 4 where Chuck will be doing edgework and punching holes.

    I really enjoy your molding technique with the stacked leather mold. I usually build out a press mold and mold my leather in that. I have trouble casing my leather here as it is very dry and leaving a soaking wet piece of leather out to air dry for an hour would have it bone dry again. Excellent video. Thanks!

    Hi Chuck! I know this is a little off topic, but I love how you explain what you are doing.
    When making a veg tan leather cuff or veg tan leather bracelet, may I ask what is the best product to use on the flesh side that won't cause an allergic reaction to someone's wrist without making the cuff with two layers glued and stitched together?
    It feels to me, using two layers makes some delicate styles too thick.
    (I make leather jewelry and worry about the same thing, when I am making pretty and delicate leather chokers.)
    Would plain beeswax work?
    You do a great job,
    Thank You!

    what do you thing about spacing two pieces of leather using layers of leather cutted to shape instead of wet molding? Could you make video about this? What are differences, what is better and why?

    Have you ever used the shaving foam method of dying?
    Would I use the pro dye oil based or alcohol based?

    Does the swivel knife actually cut into the leather or just make an impression? Also what would the difference be in using a razor knife instead of a swivel knife?

    • @WeaverLeatherSupply
      @WeaverLeatherSupply  Před 2 lety

      Hi Darin,
      It actually cuts the leather. The swivel allows the blade to cut around curves and intricate areas more easily than a regular knife.
