- Here we talk about the different types of leather finishes. In the video, we also dye the border of our card wallet project and then seal and antique it as well.

You do good work and I respect the fact that everyone has their preferences.
Leaving the tape on the back was a great tip for me. I have a habit of peeling it off quickly as possible because my tape leaves a sticky residue. Leaving it on will help. Thank you for sharing.
I seal after antiquing simply to protect the antiquing gel.
The acronym helps:
If you want a good result, you must give a

Best simple explanation ive seen, thank you.
Very beautiful and interesting! Thank you for your video. 🙏🏻
I always think of stain as a way to cure edges by dunking the sewn edge in a darker or lighter colour, antique is my go to border treatment. It’s easy to do. I really appreciate hearing your optimism in treating leathers.
Great info thanks for sharing!

2. RTC resist
3. Fiebing’s medium-brown antique finish
Anyone have experience with re-dying brown leather to black? After I remove any protectants, would it be advisable to use use color theory and neutralize some of the reds in the current brown using either blue, or green dye before dying the leather black? Any tips on re-dying brown boots black?
I use water based dye and it penotrates almost aswell as thr pro dye. Not quote as far but not too far off. Dye a piece and cut it. You'll be surprised.
Dear friend, its good job. Help me please, what can replace RTC sheridan resist finish? what is an alternative means instead of RTC? Thanks
Almost any other sealant or resist.
What abouth leather seats,i have DIY them in vine led collor, and i need to seal them, but like you said when you pu a clear coat or how do you prounance it,it will be shiny, and i like mat finish,so do i need clear coat,or i can put some leather conditioner to seal them, because i have seen here on youtube, that people pain the seats, and just use like some sealent cream,or what it is,and like the guy said in the video, you need to put that on a 6month for protection.
9:23 I been wondering how to fix this problem with my daubers for the longest and it’s been driving me crazy the way they are so uneven with the dye and leave streaks and stuff! So this process of lighting up the daubers putting them out and brushing off the burnt parts (like we did with toast or smores when we were kids kinda?) doesn’t effect the color of the dye? Like does the burnt dauber carry and transfer any of the burnt cotton/wool color along with the dye as you apply it? I ask cuz I can’t imagine how it could leave the dauber unchanged when applying it to leather. If that’s not a problem then thank you for the tip! That’s really clever.
I've never had any discoloration issues.
Have you tried Keda Dye, a product you suspend in either Alcohol or water?
Did you buff it after resist dryed?
No, just made sure it was dry and went to antique
But how 2 un dye a color u don't like?
Is the leather completely dry when you do this part
Yes, I wait for it to dry first
Did I miss why you lit the dauber on fire? 😂
It burns off all the extra hairs and fibers and makes it easier to use for dyeing borders and edges.
Aaron : I don't touch a bottle of dye without my stinking gloves on.
Me: *looks down at my black thumb 😕
Ha ha ha. Yep
Nice video thanks for sharing.
