Today 5 April 2024 and i want to say that R.I.P Kurt Cobain, You are the heart of the rock spirit, you will not be forgotten even if a century passes, not 30 years. 🤟🏼
Kurt Cobain explains the real meaning of "Rape Me": “Basically, I was trying to write a song that supported women and dealt with the issue of rape. Over the last few years, people have had such a hard time understanding what our message is, what we're trying to convey, that I just decided to be as bold as possible. How hard should I stamp this point? How big should I make the letters? It's not a pretty image. But a woman who is being raped, who is infuriated with the situation… it's like "Go ahead, rape me, just go for it, because you're gonna get it." I'm a firm believer in karma, and that motherfucker is going to get what he deserves, eventually. That man will be caught, he'll go to jail, and he'll be raped. So rape me, do it, get it over with. Because you're gonna get it worse.” Kurt Cobain talks about rape: “Rape is one of the most terrible crimes on earth and it happens every few minutes. The problem with groups who deal with rape is that they try to educate women about how to defend themselves. What really needs to be done is teaching men not to rape. Go to the source and start there." Kurt Cobain habla sobre las violaciones sexuales: “Violar es uno de los crímenes más terribles en la tierra y sucede cada pocos minutos. El problema con los grupos que lidian con violaciones es que intentan educar a las mujeres sobre cómo defenderse. Lo que realmente necesita hacerse es enseñar a los hombres a no violar. Ir al origen y empezar ahí.” Kurt Cobain on the lost of innocence: “I think my generation is the last generation that has enjoyed having innocence in the United States. When I was a kid, there TV shows weren’t so violent, and kids didn’t have access to restricted movies; I wasn’t aware of rapists, killers and things like that. But know 6 year old kids know about sex and realize there’s a lot of violence in the world because now there’s better media . And it’s sad to know that the next generations will be fucked because there’s no chance that they have innocence. And for a kid it is absolutely necessary to have a period of innocence in his life even if it’s for a few years.” If you are able to translate those messages to your language accurately (or improve an existing one) please post it as reply to this comment. Damn,I miss Nirvana so much! Such a huge influential band, that changed the landscape of modern Rock n Roll in the late 80's and early 90's. The mainstream of heavy metal rock music was injected into a new wave of Seattle punk rock music that changed the way we all loved rock n roll music. The music industry was evolved over those years, and Nirvana was a big part of that. It was certainly a generational change that forever cemented bands like Nirvana,Alice in Chains,Soundgarden into rock music history! There are a lot of songs that people completely misunderstand because they just hear the title or a single lyric and think "well, clearly this musician couldn't be saying anything deep, so no need to listen to the rest of it". It's very sad.
@ kirsten I would say, there's a lot of ill-informed people with pre-conceived notions that jump to any conclusion when they they hear something they don't understand
But you have to consider , there are people who won’t go deeply into songs, they are just not bothered about that. All they hear is the repetition of rape me and that can have adverse effects on vulnerable, people. Melancholy is addictive!

I have seen depression closely in different people, some even laugh and smile, some never do, some others are just tired, still others are anxious. Any psychiatrist here to comment?
Depression is a lack of energy in one particular area of life but full on depression could be an accumulation and assortment of many areas combining into one giant depression. You could love video games for example but get depressed by school.
He was bipolar. As someone with bipolar let me tell you, the manic energy is harder to deal with than the depression. He probably had mixed episodes too (depressive thoughts with manic energy)
I suffer depression, severe social anxiety (my hands shake like crazy when going into public) and heroin addiction so from my POV, days can vary. One day I can find it hard just to get out of bed or to the front door and want to lock myself away from everyone. I'll go weeks without talking to anyone except my partner who I live with which everyone's gotten used to. I also have days where I feel I CAN face the world.. they're VERY rare but I can actually look people in the eye and return smiles and talk. The fact that this song has almost thirthy years is just amazing...

There are not many songs which are so simple on the one hand and so thoughtfully structered on the other hand.
Dave cut his finger at 1:36

you're not the only one
It is a great song
Never clicked on something so fast
*SUPER MUSIC GENIUS! Many years have passed, and no one can make better music than them.*
radiohead>nirvana
When he says "I'm not the only one" that's part that gets to me the most. 🥺
He had so much energy for a depressed person, makes me reconsider my whole perception of depression, seems like its a waste of time
Joe Ellis depression is different for different people I guess
Most days it's hard though so I take advantage of those days to the fullest
That people in that concert is lucky ;')
I went to mtv unplugged I'm lucky as hell
Little did they know...
Yea
'Cause they REALLY see Curt
Why I born at 2008
*Crying in silence*
Are lucky
While listening to it I understand a chemistry exercise, thanks Nirvana for educating me.
I’m not the only one but I love this song
i am 38 years old man .... i still listening this great music. Kurt never die!
Kurt was literally the most beautiful man to ever step foot on the planet.
Gone way too soon! ❤️
Jesus was this man.
Oh please. He was a very talented and very flawed man. "The most beautiful"?
No phones. Just people taking in the experience. Good times.
Jesus, somehow they sound even better live then on their album! Amazing. They hit the final high pitched notes without a hitch!
Always a treat to see new, old things upload
30 years later and I still got to play this song. Sorry friend
😔🎸🥃
Nothing to beat him...90's - 20 century...and for ever
RIP
Kurt Cobain

He's still rocking somewhere, rest assured. :)
Kart cobein***
he didn't die, he simply became music.
the best band ever... nirvana forever
Love his voice ,incredible
It never ends
2:14 my favorite part when Kurt and Dave screamed “rape me”
As a woman I just want to say this is most cathartic song I've ever heard.
Is that a good thing or naw
Cathartic is the best word for it
@@christrinidad3360 it’s good. My totally butchered definition is that to be cathartic is to act out your inner struggles. This is theorised to help with processing troubling events
Love the crunching guitars and the angst in Kurts voice. One of the many gems from In Utero!
2:21 who would’ve thought that background scream would become legendary as well
Pat's and Dave's backing vocals at the end are perfect
My dad started to introduce me to nirvana as a little kid but it wasn't until around 2018 that I actually started listening to them...I am I survivor of sexual assault. It took my dad Years after it happened to introduce Me to this song...asked him why he didn't show me this song sooner and he was like " well you know...." and I said " dad this is such a bad ass song. It empowers me"
Rape me, rape me my friend
Rape me, rape me again
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
Hate me
Do it and do it again
Waste me
Rape me, my friend
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
My favorite inside source
I'll kiss your open sores
Appreciate your concern
You're gonna stink and burn
Rape me, rape me my friend
Rape me, rape me again
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me (rape me)
Rape me
Gosh I love his voice .. Noone will ever come close to his talent and how his music touched so many others so authentic. Love him
30 years later!! Not forgotten!! We lost a poet, a songwriter & an icon!!
Pat Smear has the 90’s grunge guitarist stance so down its a glorious thing to watch
What a masterpiece. Still a huge fans of grunge here in Pahang, Malaysia.
The bass is too good 🥵🔥
Not a day goes by that I don't miss Kurt and Nirvana. I can remember the day I learned he passed. I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. My daughter got me a In Utero t-shirt this Xmas. I cried....
Why does Pat Smear always look like a fan they let on stage from the audience
Also the crowd is younger then Nirvana, but he is 8 years older then Cobain...
He just fucking enjoys it. We all need to be more like pat...also Sam fenders guitarist is like this. Nice to see people so happy doing their thing
He wreaked of too much teen spirit
That's why we love him
I first heard of this song during a journalism class in high school. I quickly went home and played this song to understand d why a band would make a song like this .... thank god for Nirvana. One of the most personally influential bands of my life
Best Nirvana Song of time
Iam a student live in japan.
I love nirvana .
It is sad for me to he has already deid, but I will loving them.
sorry,I can't speak English well.
As days go by, CZcams recommendation keeps getting better and better
Never had a better notification then this one for this video
1:55 Dave just went swoosh with those drums
I have never realized that Dave Grohl did the harmonization vocals at the end when they are both screaming. You can TOTALLY hear Foo Fighters coming out of his voice if you close your eyes.
The breeze on his hair here... damn
Professional Meme Enthusiast 1 That’s what I love about Live and Loud. And the music obviously.
you like that wind, eh?
He had pretty hair
One of my favourite Nirvana tracks!!!
💓💓💓
This band is so sadgasm...
0:02 some of them probably thought it was gonna be Slts cause its sounds pretty similar epecially on this version cause its a little sped up
1993: Hey, wait! I got a new complaint.
2019: Hey, wait! I want a new Cobain!
Fjellvekst there will never be a new cobain, he was too much of a legend
Hey I think you were meant to write this comment on heart shaped box lmao
nagornyrost Heres the thing, we want THE cobain, not someone who’s trying to be him.
i actually thought those were the lyrics for a while.
Search in YT "Yo soy Kurt Cobain - Perú"
I love them to the core. They are my youth. My legacy. Forever Nirvana.
I have admired this man all my life. Just want to say, 🖤 My respect for this man has increased tremendously today after I hear out about a girl who has been through a lot lately.
as a sa victim, this is one of my favourite songs and it has a special place in my heart.
I'm not gay, but Kurt is hot😂
Oh yes he is. A gorgeous man.
I absolutely agree !
"What else should I say? Everyone is gay."
dont gotta be gay to compliment thw same gender
im gay, but Kurt is hot
