Great info, exactly what I was looking for with the side by side comparison, thank you
Excellent! Love your in-depth insights so hard to find in the web!
Excellent review. Love the honesty!
Glad I made the choice with the Morimoto before I purchase the other one. Looks much better
I just used these in conjuction with a mini H1 retrofit. They're bright af. Even w/o the mini H1 high these thing perform well. They're a solid choice for ppl who want to get past halogens and don't want a quad projector setup.
Can't wait to install these in my R33!
im trying to decide right now between doing quad 7.0's or 7.0 or 7.0's and the HB led, unless there is a LED bulb that out performs either of those combinations. what would a better performing LED high beam bulb be? would quad 7.0's be a better overall setup having quad low and quad high beam?
Yeah I might buy those Morimoto things and put a Cree CXB LED in it.
Very good 🙂
Ceasar....great job as always. Quick question though. What is the output of say an SL1 in a reflector housing as compared to this new projector???
It depends on the reflector, some are better than others. Overall you CAN get higher performance out of a drop in LED bulb such as SL1 in a high beam reflector.
@@LightwerkzGlobal Even compared to a 9011, specifically in the halogen housing used in this video?
Think i found a reason to open my headlights back up lol
Is there LED chip information?
Can we adjust this to aim lower?
Man I wish Morimoto could cram a bi-led into a mini size like that. The M-LED is too long for a lot of retrofits without cutting and modifcation...
Soon Mled 2.0 vs UPS Led?? Please!
ROAAAAAAD TEEEEEEEST PLLLLLS!
Led already installed in this projector?
Does the Morimoto HB projector can be used as DRL/High beam mode?
Someone posted elsewhere that it works with PWM low voltage at 9V in his civic stock drl cirquit. So you would need a pwm generator + drl circuit for 3$ and you're set.
Can this be installed upside down as long as the high beam output is level? I bench tested this and the beam looks exactly the same when I orient it upside down (it is the only way I can get it to fit? but I want to make sure there isnt something I am missing...thanks
I don't see why not.
I am assuming that halogen used was a 9005 bulb/ housing? Is there any way you guys can do a comparison of the 9005, 9011, the best halogen alternative LED bulb, and the Morimoto HB LED. Ooooor, is the 9011 still the king of high beam outside of an HID projector?

As mentioned in the video a really good LED bulb such as the Diode Dynamics SL1 will outperform this HD projector, but thats not really the point here. This isn't about all out performance.
Hello. How to chang the LED if burn ?
DRIVING REVIEW?
How about this versus a morimoto hid projector?
John Davis in what regard ? The HID would be brighter overall. But this unit has many more advantages when it comes to a high beam projector. Hard to compare in some regards when they both serve different purposes.
@@LightwerkzGlobal wait I thought this unit was low beam only?
What made you think so? It's named HB LED. "HB" = high beam. It's launch was teased several weeks ago, and it's beam pattern only resembles a low beam due to its width which still falls significantly short of a good low beam projector. It's primary light dispersion is distance as evidenced by the very intense hot spot at the center.
@@teligon oh, I didn't know that. I guess I will have to stick with morimoto d2s for now.
@@_Epictetus_ I'm confident you won't find yourself lacking in that regard. Morimoto has some powerhouse D2S options out there, among them the Mini D2S 5.0 for ease of installation and outstanding output. This new HB LED projector will complement the 5.0 and together may even surpass the performance of popular LED light bars.
