Welcome to another episode of Cathedrals and Churches. This time we are in Poland and I present a wooden Gothic church in Rabka Zdrój in Podhale.
It is one of the churches on the Wooden Architecture Trail. As for its history, it is the second building, because the first one was destroyed in the 16th century and we don't know much about it.
The place remembers the times of the first Polish Republic. In the episode I will tell you about the local legend and show you the museum. The museum houses everyday objects illustrating the old life in the countryside.
We will also find evidence of old folk rituals, such as the custom of carolling, where in the photos we will see Turoń and other props and sacred objects.
We will learn how wooden churches were built in the late Middle Ages. Also how richly they were decorated even in small settlements in Poland at that time.

O super - i co myślisz?

@@historiaminiona Zawsze czegoś dwo9eim się. Widzę, że masz dużo zasięg od Anglii po Polskę hehe, więc zawsze czegoś dowiem się. Nie wiem jak inni użytkownicy ale ja tak. Ogólnie Gotyk na ziemiach polskich jest ciekawym tematem. Mam kilka książek o nim ale....nie tylko te sławne budowle. MOżę (jeśli masz takie wiadomości) styl romański? Czy przed rządami Mieszka??? Kultury na ziemiach polskich. Byłoby ciekawie, oczywiście NICZEGO nie wymuszam.
