Sometimes I forget how young Amala is because she’s so brilliant. Her struggling on that quiz was hilarious. And from now on when people are being rude, definitely gonna yell ‘Be kind, rewind!’
Legit thought she was in her 30s but just looked really young! The fact that she's gen z gives me hope
Experts of Sweden found out A I
is spreading "desinformation" about humans....... So you never know what comes from A I.
90 percent of articles in future will be written By A I,
so be careful and dont judge men and women...
because A I is able to convince people about its own truth 82 percent more than being convinced by real human.
@@mollbieYeah i believe she’s only 22 or 23
It really was interesting because I’m only two years older than her and I knew literally every single answer on that quiz😭 maybe she just doesn’t remember much from her childhood or something!
Amala is only 23?!?! Here I am, a year older than her, but she's very wise, beyond her years.
I'm young Gen x but, 18 minutes in and this is my fav vid so far.
Am I the only one who watched Kim Possible?
I loved Kim Possible! I'm a millennial, though. 1993, baby.
I wasn’t allowed to watch it because she wore a crop top lol
Is Kim Possible a millenial thing? Honestly I'm not sure but I watched it a lot as a kid and I was born in 2004
Yep!
Born in 2001, I remember watching Kim Possible.
I'm one of the few millennial that never had an AOL email
Me too 🙋🏼♀️ but I'm '96 so barely Millenial 😂
Same.
Same. We didn't have internet till high school 🥲
Me too 93
Same here, Millenial but grew up poor, didn't have internet at home until 2006, didn't have console until PS2 (played on computer...because it was easier to *sail the Seven Seas, arr* )
Born in 1991 but I never had an AOL account. I actually didn’t grow up with internet at all! Nor did I ever have any brand shirt like hollister or Abercrombie lol
Born in 95 and same here!
Born in *1945.* No Saturday morning cartoons because no TV. No computer games because no computers. No aggressive hateful responses to what I wore or looked like because no (anti-)social media platforms. *IT WAS FABULOUS!!*
Same, I didn't even have a computer until 2003. And by that time, Yahoo existed
Born in 95 same! No computer, no phone, my music tastes were influenced by my mom and dad, I mostly read books all the time, and played games with my siblings and toys with my twin sister. We didn’t watch tv shows we only watched movies. And mostly Disney. Also we were homeschooled so none of that social influence regarding style or pop culture which I was totally okay with. We did have friends of course and we would go shopping with mom that was how we would learn about certain snacks, or you know see clothing styles, etc. 😄
I was born in 93, and I didn't have AOL either.
Sailor Moon all day!
-1990 Millennial
Yes! My 4th birthday was Sailor Moon themed.
1991 millennial 🙋🏻♀️ and my daughter is loving sailor moon lately and wants a sailor moon birthday party this year. 😁
Gen Z! Love SM!!!
Pokemon and all of Toonami (sailor moon, dragon ball, Gundam Wing)
I loved Sailor Moon!!
Dragon Ball Z! Just Saiyan...
That's a good pun. Did you just come up with that? If so good job seriously I liked that
No im sure they didnt come up with it, ive seen it on tshirts at the mall@@QuiteCoffee
@@QuiteCoffee it’s a joke from DBZ Abridged, at least they made it popular haha
@@Sideshowbrooke Flexing my Millenial boomer knowledge: Well, actually, TFS stole that joke from literally everyone who saw DBZ on Toomami.
@@Undomaranel oh nice! I don’t remember ever watching toonami regularly as it aired so I would have no clue. My uncle used to tape DBZ for me when he was at his house (we didn’t have cable) and he gave me a lot of DBZ/DBGT tapes. The only toonami footage I’ve seen are from the 5-10 tapes that I was gifted so I definitely missed that one😂
Who else remembers the TGIF block on abc? I loved watching that every weak then waking up early the next day for some Saturday morning cartoons.
Yes!❤
I was born in ‘90, but I am in Canada and AOL messenger wasn’t as much of a thing in my area. We all used MSN. Anyone else?
Yup! Born in ‘96 and everyone used MSN up until early high school, I don’t believe anyone I knew had an AOL lol
Yes and I'm in New Zealand
Same here, I wasn't allowed that because my parents thought I would waste time on it I guess.
I was born in 2004 but grew up with 2 much older millenial sisters who greatly influenced me so I think I could pull this off for sure
Favorite cartoon was probably either captain planet, powerpuff girls. or rugrats. I can't forget about the original magic school bus
Books are magic treehouse series, goosebumps, boxcar children
Seriously this is why we had to make our own generation xennials because all of these shows were not out when I was under 10. My favorite was fragile rock, thundercats! I can’t relate to any of these millennials.
I was born in the last year to be a millennial and I definitely can’t relate to the AOL messenger stuff lol
Relatable - 1983
Def relate 1985
I'm with ya (1986).
Absolutely 1980 baby here
1989 💖
Doug, Sailormoon, Rugrats, Rocket Power, Thundercats, Spaceghost, Captain Planet, Ahhh! Real Monsters, Dexter, Wild Thornberries, Static Shock....I can go on, lol 😂 I think some of these were more middle school than Elementary School favs for me though :D
Oh, and Blues Clues 😂
Sailormoon was great, but well... Am I allowed to say it as a member of gen x?
@YvonneHoerde I actually think it came out in the 80's, or at least the comics did - and the series Codename Sailor V, which is where they got Sailor Moon from :) So it's for both of our generations, lol 😂
As a geriatric Gen Z myself, I’m stunned that amala got so hung up on the millennial quiz! I remember all of these things and I was born in 99😂
Same! The fact that she called the discman a Walkman irritated me. Walkman played cassettes, discman played CDs.
I was also born 99 and her being so hung up on the razr answer made me cackle 😂
@@cupcake_whale same I was waiting on Taylor to correct her 😂
@@maggie986 same!! Didn’t even know it was Motorola 💀 idk maybe she’s one of those people who don’t really remember much from their childhoods or something!
@@Sideshowbrooke she could be or she was too young to really know what that kind of phone was.
Cartoons: chip 'n dale rescue rangers, dark wing duck, Talespin. Caught some episodes of the crash test dummies cartoon. There was a very brief cartoon called Solarman. The x-men cartoon was a frequent watch.
I'm a senior Gen X.... would love to see them do this between GenX and Millennials
I'm older Gen X too...I think we born in the 60s have quite a bit in common with Boomers on culture touchstones
I’m on the cusp of Gen Z and millennial but was really poor growing up so i didn’t have cable or internet and what not so i tend to relate to millennial more. But i do think it’s funny how distinct the two generations are. Millennials do the most cringey stuff and theres a lot about them that i dont relate to about but i am pretty far removed from gen z as well. Not to say im anything special, im sure there are a lot of people in the same boat as me that look at both generations and feel like half of each. (Born in 98)
I’m in the same situation, in that weird overlap between both! I’ve read the term “zillenial” to refer to those born between ‘96 and ‘98, but doesn’t seem to have caught on as much so I end up saying millennial 😅
I freaking loved watching Are You Afraid of the Dark on Snick!! I have the best memories of spending the night at my best friend's house on a Saturday and turning off all the lights and watching Snick.
Where are the ladies who played girlsgogames on the computer 😂
Or Neopets lol
AND the gays! Don't forget us lol
Dollzmania, too 🙌🏽
I normally suck at guessing these but I actually clocked him when he said he played My Name Is over and over from his first ever album. Because that's from The Slim Shady LP, not Marshall Mathers - and back then Eminem was a big enough deal, and your first album is a big enough deal, that you wouldn't misremember this.
Good catch!
I’m a young millennial who remembers cool math for kids 😂😂
I'm an old millennial whose kids played it. 😂
@@Skyesoceaneyes are your kids gen z?
I’m gen z and I played cool math games
I thought Cool Math was really a Gen Z thing. But I guess it makes sense that young millennials played it too.
Edit: idk why there was so many replies but I deleted them lol
You is so important
Speed racer , sailor moon, spy vs spy, Boris and Natasha , dragon tales , Arthur , sagwa, Franklin , Bernstein bears , cat dog , Dexters laboratory, power puff girls , magic school bus , bananas in pajamas, bobbys world , Doug , beavis and butthead , who framed Rodger rabbit , celebrity death match , recess , Clifford the big red dog , little bear , lamb chop , the gargoyles, mutant teenage ninja turtles , ….. I can do this all day 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that big ass colorful face in between nick jr. shows, blues clues omg now I can’t stop 🤣💀
Amala's meaning for be kind, please rewind was hilarious. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Mask, Transformers, Swat Cats, Johnny Quest, Classic Cartoon Network (Dexter's Lab, Looney toons, Silverster and Tweety, Tom and Jerry, Ghost Busters, Powerpuff Girls, Droopy, Popeye, Tom and Jerry, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, Captain Planet, Courage, Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Road Runner, Flintstones)...the good days!
Streaming apps can remove your favorite show so it's always good to have the physical copy.
Her not knowing what a Motorola Razr was the first time I feel my age. Holy shit.
Taylor thought the M logo was for a "bygone carrier, MetroPCS". Metro is definitely still around, and the M on the phone is for Motorola
1984 millennial. As for cartoons....dbz, rugrats, animaniacs, pinky and the brain, happy tree friends and pokemon.
Yes...Pinky and the Brain...👍
Love Animaniacs and Pokemon.
OMG thank you for this comment. For years i’ve been trying to figure what that show is with the weird looking mouse guy with the red nose and nobody ever knows what i’m talking about. I finally have the answer
Amala the goat
I second.
Millennal here 1994 and I never used AOL because I was outdoor kid playing on old playgrounds that were you would get burned ass on the metal slide. chip tooth on the metal bar on the roundabout, skid knees on the dirt ground, etc.
Not like all the other millennials 🙄
@@amyhatch3761 Of course others did it, thats why I said it like this.
Taylor I wasn't allowed to watch rugrats either because of her too haha
Same! I thought I was the only one
Blockbuster
Yep, that's a big one that seems to somewhat define that time.
The guy who won is just 2 years older than me and looks like a 30 year old man while i still look like a teenager 😂
The dynamic here is wholesome. T Is the boy
A staple millennial cartoon 'Animaniacs.'
You should make a contest for your wait music! I’m sure there are many people watching that could make beats and that would be so cool. See what fan can make the best music.
Spices Girls and Spice World were the first albums my sisters and I shared (millennial)
This was so fun! Blast from the past. I'm a Millennial 😊
Damn... He had some solid answers. I really didn't expect that🤦. I was expecting Coral right off the bat.
How is circut city confusing her. Watching Amala take this quiz is making my hair go gray
HomestarRunner!!!❤ "The light switch is not for putting on one of your disco raves Cheat!"
Homestar Runner aaaaah man, you got your cool points back Taylor.
i always thought amala is so educated in so many things but not knowing who sang I want it that way was a shocker 😂
Biker mice from mars / street sharks / pinky and the brain
Love the new intro beat!!! Still waiting for your song with your intro video lyrics. I dance every time.
Babysitters club yes, but who remembers the boxcar children books!!! ❤❤❤ Early millennial right here!
1985! A True 90s kid!
Adding Animorphs to that list because it was pure 90s, alongside ZooBooks.
LOVED THOSE!!
Does Amala think we invented lightning lol? Ofcourse you can be electeocuted on the Oregon Trail.
POGs were in for a brief time.
It was crazy bones for me
Kids books-Animorphs is what I was into. Goosebumps was really popular too.
Amala and Taylor- I'm a millennial and I love your content. It's nice to see young people capable of rational thought and articulation. It's truly a lost art. Keep doing what you're doing!
Also, bring Brett Cooper on. That's the collab we need!
When Amalah struggled between the razor and the sidekick I instantly knew she was definitely not a millennial. Even if she never admitted it 😂🫶🏽
Darkwing duck, tail spin and the gummy bears were my favourite cartoons
Yeeessss! GUMMI BEARS WAS AWESOME!!! I made my sister's kids watch episodes of that on CZcams 😂
TROGDOR!!! I know Taylor knows lol
Trogdor the Burnin4tor... good times out in Strongbadia.
They have a Trogdor board game and it is AWESOME!
Oh yes, please rewind was written on all rental videos.
Nancy Drew was before me, although I did read them and I'm a Gen X.
I was obsessed with Nancy Drew and am a '96 baby so 🤷🏼♀️
I'm Gen X and remember Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys on TV
23:52
I read magic tree house but it was my little siblings books.
Goosebumps!
Amala, you mean shark boy and lava girl? I can’t believe my oldest is technically genZ… I feel so OLD!!
No, she's talking about a flash game
It's Fire Boy and Water Girl. It's a game on Cool Math most Gen Z kids played it at some point.
That's who I thought she was talking about too.
I feel this would be too easy. I would just sing the first part of an nsync or backstreet boys song, whoever didnt sing is the imposter. Or whoever cant complete the phrase, WHO LOVES ORANGE SODA!
Even, them picking cartoons was easy, a lot of those still aired when my gen Z sister was growing up. I would’ve asked for preschool aged shows; Blue’s Clues, The Puzzle Place, Magic School Bus, The Comfy Couch etc.
Watching Amala take that quiz made me feel so old 😅
Macarana for the dance, Goosebumps for the books, magic schoolbus for the tv show, the Beanie babies collection (my favourute was the Irush one). After school was spent at the park with friends or watching cartoons, they had a few cartoon in between after school and the evening news. We didn't have cartoon network or any of that, so we had specific times when cartoons would come on.
Love all the flashbacks 😂. I think my first cd that I bought was a kiss cd… I was all over the board with music.
People didn't usually have "rewinders." We just hit "rewind" on the VCR.
We had a “fast rewinder”
@@TheArbiterOfTruth Seems like it was very rare but good to know.
@@NGVP2 probably was honestly.
My first “album” was a Micheal Jackson compilation on cassette 😂. My first CD was either Hybrid Theory or a Hoobastank album 😭
For books…Goosebumps, Animorphs, etc
So disappointing that taylor didnt correct amala when she said walkman instead of discman. Im just a few years older than amala and still gen z and this is fun but frustrating, trying not to yell the answers as if she can hear me 😭😂
Mummies Alive was the best cartoon on KidsWB 🔥.
Been watching since the Will & Amala days. Silver hawks was my favorite cartoon. Queen sang the theme song!
What was my collectible? Rocks. I collected rocks lol
I did, too 😅
I love being born in 1980 & not actually having a generation assigned to me.
My mom was born in 1980 (I was born in 99, so she was really young when she had me) and she deals with this same issue. Some people say she’s Gen X, some say millennial. Although I will say, it would be funnier if she was a millennial because she looks that I get when I say my mother is a millennial shocks everyone, given that I’m 25 😂
I was born in 1981 but feel more of gen x than millennial
@@Sideshowbrookemy mom was 18, almost 19 when she had me too. My dad 20. It was fun growing up with younger parents.
I'd say the difference between Gen X and Millenial is your experience of the 80s. I'm an older Gen X so I became an adult during the 80s. Millenials would have been little kids in the 80s.
I thought you could die from lightning in Oregon Trail? Or your Ox could maybe, if you kept traveling in a thunderstorm? Electrocution.
I know a sure fire way to win and show my age, I remember watching the old thunder cats cartoon on beta max tapes.
Millennials are so old we used to get the internet in the mail
I loved Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, Smurfs, and Strawberry Shortcake. My first CD I ever purchased myself was either Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Greatest Hits or Collective Soul's Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid.
This was suuuuch a fun episode but I definitely feel like these were all younger millenials 😄
Yes! I'm 1984, an elder Millenial. My first CD was a cassette tape 😂😂
Noooo you changed the intro 😂. I like this one too
Circuit City was an electronic store. Delia’s was the place to shop, however I never did that. Best Buy replaced Circuit City and then Fry’s here in Tx completed with Best Buy. It’s now hardly available here. You can still find a few stores. 🤷🏻♀️
This was sooo fun😂🫶
I loved Bonkers and Chip and Dale rescue Rangers, Shira when I was a little kid. As I got a little older I was really into Mighty Max and Sailor Moon.
"Be kind, rewind" Is also Jack Black and Mos Def movie
Oh my gosh I loved Delia's so flippin much haha
I know core memory unlocked
I did not have aim or aol, but had yahoo messenger 😅
First albums were the 2 Taylor's wife brought him 😂
Courage the cowardly dog; Ed, Edd, n Eddy
29:40 look at him trying so hard to hold in that smile, he knew he'd won.
Power puff girls!!🩵🩷💚
Anyone who purchased albums after 2003 ain’t no millennial because we had limewire and bearshare 🤣💀
How come none of them mention CAPTAIN PLANET!!! He's our hero ...........LOLLLLLL
Some of favorite animated shows from my childhood that I still enjoy are Pokémon, Dexters Laboratory, Hey Arnold!, Animaniacs, Teen Titans, Amazing World Of Gumball , Jimmy Neutron and Chowder to name a few.
The first piece of vinyl I got was Twisted Sister.
You must be Gen X
Video content was great but Amala in that shade of pink is PHENOMENAL ❤❤❤
Homestar Runner!!!!!!! I’m so dang happy right now!🌟
That quiz is geared towards Americans, because there were a few questions in there like the kids' lunch boxes and magazines that weren't a thing in the UK lol
South park came out when I was 10 i believe, space coast coast to coast and doom was 93' if I recall so I was like 8 crazy times hearing all these shows watching with friends kids or baby sitting hahaha
18:52
Millennium - Backstreet Boys
Haha
I like the countdown music 😊
The M phone is Motorola here in Australia
My son is a Millennial and he was into Transformers, Pokemon and Power Rangers. I don't remember there being a lot of cartoons around at that time. As a Gen X I loved Scooby Doo and Milton the Monster haha, does anyone even remember Milton 😆 The cartoons in the 1970's were the bes. Saturdays was cartoons until 12pm and then out to play.
Place me generationally...Saturday morning programs: Hong Kong Fooey, Land of the Lost, HR Puffin Stuff, Speed Racer
Gen X born 67 -71 ‘cause I know all those and I was born 1969
@@marcekessen8003
Pretty spot on...born 1966
I still have my yellow game boy with camera, printer and paper lol 😅
You can rebrand: "The Mamala & Tay-tay Video Extravaganza".
Also I think my first album I ever purchased myself. Was probably Del Ametri Twisted or the Monkees complete hits. Because I love the Monkees even though they were popular when my mom was a kid! Also I took my girls to see the Monkees when they were 4 and 6 in 2008, and they loved it, and all love them to this day! Last summer the 3 of us went to Del Ametri and my 19 year old said it was surreal!
18:54 I had that Nsync and Britney Spears album on tape! 😂❤
Old millennial here born in 1982. I LOL’d when Taylor asked who even uses Redbox because hubby and I buy DVDs from those Redbox machines. He’s GenX though. Hahaha
Why do you do DVD’s when you could do BluRay or 4K disc? DVDs are so low resolution.
Saved by the bell. 🛎️
