  • In this video we're installing recovery points on the front of a 2019 Honda Passport (@pgh_passport) that has a 2" lift and the chin guard removed.
I'll discuss how to get them installed, when to decide what you're doing with your splash shield and the basics of trimming you're bumper.
    * Currently we haven't bolted this to every variation of this platform. The tows hooks will bolt up but we may not have a bumper template. 2019-2020 Passport and 2021-2023 Ridgeline and Passport are the models we have covered at this time. Check out the site for the most up to date information.

Just ordered tow hooks for my 2019 Ridgeline. I'll let you know how it goes.
    Cheers.

On my 24 Ridgeline I spent so much time attempting to reinstall the splash guard only to cut half of it away and then give up the lost cause. Plus having the splash guard off made it easier to install the skid plate next.
Also on the 24 Ridgeline I did not have to cut out that hole in the bumper. It will fit underneath the bumper you might just have to trim a little off the very bottom edge that sticks out.

Great addition. Just have one question out of genuine curiosity, why did you decide not to make the actual recovery hook larger? Was it a strength issue?

I didn't want someone to just be able to throw any strap on it. Somewhat forcing the use of a soft shackle makes it more likely to have a kenetic rope involved in the recovery. They've been proven to reduce shock on the chassis. Even with them lagged into the strongest part of the front of the vehicle there's no point in stressing it more than needed.

Ian, why not only install one hook? I’m thinking I just want a way for another vehicle to pull me out of a bad situation.

We can offer one hook. That's easy enough to do.

Yikes, I have to remove the front skid!!!!

You could choose to modify the splash shield in place. This would negate the need to remove the front skid plate from a stock vehicle.

@@no-lodesigns do I cut some holes in the splash shield?

@@cslee6353 You will have too if you don't want to fully remove the splash shield.

Is the shield above or below the tow hook, looking from the front.

@@cslee6353 it depends on the model. The 21+ Ridgeline and Passport it's above. 16-22 Pilot, 17-20 Ridgeline, or 19-20 Passport it's likely below.
