Dance Gavin Dance released two new songs in one! Speed Demon and Straight from the Heart are definite hits.
If you want to check out some of their old stuff, "Inspire the Liars" is a great track showing off Tilian (their previous clean vocalist).
And yeah rapid genre switching is something they do a lot!

@@eeveevx3245 yeah, he had Lyme disease and needed to recover so he couldn’t record. That being said, you are 100% right on Will pioneering their sound and style.
If you aren't a huge fan of the high pitch vocals you probably won't like their previous vocalist Tilian too much since he has a higher range. I suggest checking out some of their earlier stuff with Jonny Craig (DBM1&2 and their initial EP WISIRO)
On the earlier tracks Jon Mess's harsh vocals are pretty different, but still enjoyable. I suggest checking out Lemon Meringue Tie, The Importance of Cocaine, It's Safe to Say You Dig The Backseat, or And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman.
If you like the progressive style, you'll love the singers other band, Eidola. Their second album in particular, Degenereterra

Eidola is my favorits band on the last 2 or 3 years. I think The Architect is a better entrance - the singles for this one are nuts, but Emptry Gardens has to be my favorite.. is such a joutney...
(I lied, counterfeit shrines is my favorite. But i think you should react to empty gardens - my somewhat second favorite)
@@thefablesfolly Def give Wolf & Bear's album BLOODLETTER a shot. Super accessible entry into the "swancore" genre (which is really just a flavor of post hardcore pioneered by DGD's guitarist Will Swan). I feel you on having trouble finding stuff you like lately. I'm always looking for new shit but so little actually grabs me. DGD very quickly became one of my top 5 bands next to Coheed, Ween, Oingo Boingo, and Twelve Foot Ninja

i suggest you look up the background on this series of songs they just made, the Gobbler is basically Tilian. All of the lyrics are aimed towards him, basically saying he's just there to promote his own solo career, and the second half of that seemed as though they were addressing his sexual harassment charges and what is been the main holdup on the bands progression. They need a new dynamic and Tilian was the main cause, just like Jonny was at one point. Now the band is open for more collaborative works with multiple vocalists, meanwhile Andrew is picking up the clean vocals and also working on his higher register with a vocal coach. Andrew just had surgery and is still in remission. Eidola, his main band, is going on hiatus after tour. If you liked this, you should do a deep dive my man. Keep up the good videos.

Lmao you are completely wrong. Tilian was on these tracks. They were even recorded in his house studio haha. Stop spreading rumors, especially ones you read in a comment thread somewhere.
Andrew’s opening lines were tilians. You can hear him attempting his high pitch version that Tilian would have murdered if he were still there.
They split due to direction. Go and listen to Andrew’s new interview and he talks about Tilian and the split some.

I don't mind high pitched, I just don't like 2010 emo high pitched lol. So far DGD is not that, more like Coheed and Cambria
