The 14th amendment doesn’t mention the president specifically but it says “no person shall hold ANY office civil or military, who has engaged in insurrection”. It also goes on to mention “anyone having taken an oath as an officer of the US”. That would definitely apply to the presidency. I have no idea why they would mention all these specific offices before then saying “any office”, but not mention the presidency.
It seems like it would be most important to mention the highest office in the land and that you wouldn’t want an insurrectionist in that position if you were going to make any kind of rule like this. Wtf founding fathers? Also, wtf judge?

Yeah, it’s wonky as hell because the section does say “any office” but then states it’s dependent on having taken an oath as a senator, representative, officer, or servant under the State so the judges interpretation isn’t that there is no office to be excluded from but rather “he never took an oath” under those circumstances. It may be semantically valid (who knows) but it really is pretty dumb to reason that the President, unlike any other office, doesn’t take the very same oath or that it doesn’t carry the same gravity.

      That Judge is outright wrong.
Constitutional scholars from Left to Right agree that the Amendment covers Trump and he should be removed.
If it doesn't apply to him, then it's never going to apply to anyone, which is what those scholars have stated on TV.
"Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection and Other Rights
Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."
President is named repeatedly within the Constitution as an OFFICE that is HELD, and so any nonsense about the Presidency not being an office has already been debunked.
It sickens me that so many people in offices of power are too cowardly to do their duty.
It is specifically the duty of the Secretary of each State to decide who is or is not permitted to be on the Ballot for their state, but not one has, instead leaving it to the citizens of their states to sue them to remove Trump!
Merrick Garland, US AG, too cowardly to prosecute ANYONE in power for their crimes!
Not a single person in a position of power has been taken to Court by Garland, he's openly refused to prosecute anyone in power who has been caught committing crimes, even when it's literally an open and shut case!
These Judges who are having to deal with Trump are instead letting him do whatever he wants without pushback.
They put out orders and instructions for Trump not to threaten and intimidate court staff and witnesses, but do nothing when he breaks those orders.
Anyone else would have been locked up MONTHS ago, if not YEARS for all the crimes that Trump has committed!
Yet not only is he still waddling free, but he's still committing more crimes of the same nature!

15 minimum wage should have been the most prudent policy to push for the betterment of our country and economy, but rich donors and company owners can’t take making 1 less million dollars per year to pay a livable wage.
The people who bragged about saving up over the summer on high school to buy their first car benefitted from a minimum wage, that would equal 20 dollars per hour these days, are the same ones that would oppose raising to a level that would still be below what most people in congress would have earned.

Okay, so it means that people can drive after whiffing paint fumes because the book doesn’t specifically mention that. Got it.

Eamon De Valera was president of Ireland when he was 92 years old.

The presidency of Ireland is ceremonial...not a true comparison. But at least Dev was born in the USA (which saved him from being shot for his part in the 1916 Uprising)

I just wish they’d see the writing on the wall and quickly groom a new dem candidate. I like Joe as a rule and always have. But even though my grandfather was sharp as a tack at 90 even he would’ve said it wouldn’t be prudent to have someone his age in office.
But once again I’ll have to vote for him. The swing towards nationalism is too scary to put any republican in office

The 14th amendment doesn't exclude presidents. Even the judge admitted that would make no sense. Jefferson Davis could have become the US president post Civil War under her interpretation. Her ruling was blasted by the top Constitutional scholars on both ends of the political spectrum. She just didn't want to be the one to pull the trigger. She's like, "I'm just gonna kick this on up to the Appeals Court, and hopefully they fix my ruling."

Maybe they shouldn’t have bought those gas guzzling phallic substitutes. Most aren’t used for actual work reasons.

1:49 "Biden's team has a couple of different ideas on how to deal with his age, going into next year. One is to allow him more time to rest and not send him on so many draining, international _trips-"_
Could we, maybe, just give those trips to _Harris?_ She's probably up to it.

The most important job as a President is to put together a great team of experts on every issure faced. That takes integrity, humility, wisdom and a moral compass. Biden has done that in this term. The fact that the gop has been a total no show is despicable. They should have been paid nothing since they were barriers to solving problems and they did not follow their oath of office.
