Linda Black...how can you give this criminal 'great credit' for murdering someone, I just hope that you never have anything like this happen to you. The system is an absolute disgrace, this poor family have lost so much, and the man you give so much credit to, is laughing in their faces.

USA is the worst. But in a different way. This sentence for this idiot of 7 years, is to lenient. In the states, sentences are to harsh. And countless innocent people are wrongly convicted, because it’s profitable for all those involved. (except for the wrongly convicted obviously!!,). Almost all homicide convictions here get life without parole sentence now. And that includes children as young as 10 and 12 years old sometimes. Its pure insanity. Its happening here because private companies are now making the money to imprison people and keep them there...The longer the sentence, the longer the guaranteed profit...

How can this be considered a justifiable sentence for taking the life of another? Especially under such unjustifiable circumstance. This attackers past record speaks volumes about his state of mind as well as future crimes he could become eligible to commit in less than five years. Any future damages committed by this individual should not only effect him but also those whom allow him to walk free within our society. A society in which he does not respect freedoms, laws or the rights of other individuals to move about without fear of an attack or death. Truly a miscarriage of justice in the eyes of any responsible citizen. My condolences to his loving family. I pray that despite the loss of their father his two daughters are granted great prosperity throughout their entire lives.❤

The barrister who seems to think the sentence was adequate is completely nuts. Her statement that no matter how high the punishment was it would never be high enough is not her decision to make or to judge what the family thinks.
The criminal should have gotten the maximum penalty & if Australia doesn't allow for the death penalty in a case like this then that needs to change.

The family needs to file civil suits for wrongful death against him, his family and a civil suit against the those who got him off and the court system itself!!!
IF they decide to enable crime, they must be held equally liable!!!
The justice system is sending the signal that if your despicable enough, your free to continue your crimes and bear no liability or accountability for any of your crimes.
    Disgusting and reprehensible!!!

It's not as if Peppe was involved in the altercation that happened. He was standing in front of a Kebab shop eating. To rush up behind him and hit him with such force that it caused a significant brain injury and then continued to walk away, it is intent and callous.

This heartbreaking and shocking in equal measure. I think some rough St justice needs handing down to this thug!! Why was he even out of jail after an aggravated armed robbery? Is 7 years all you get for that? In the UK you can get life! And what's that lawyer banging on about that she doesn't like " the cowards collar" moniker my response would be well if the collar fits!! This is just a god awful tragedy. His family is obviously wonderful people, and so was he. My heart hurts for his wife, father and daughters. It’s not fair that he will never come back, but a murderer can walk away and start life anew. Where is the justice in that??

This country is the last country in the western world to achieve change, even when surveys show the majority of the population are behind said change, because we continue to have compulsory voting, no politician has to work hard, listen to you, to get your vote, you have to vote. Democracy is the rite to vote not the force to vote, if we want change we have to change this first.
