Also, using disposal styrofoam plates in between the China plates is great for packing!
Thatâs a great idea!
I do the same. Dollar Tree is my go to.
Itâs hard to hear you with music in the background
Sorry about that
I just thought you should know but the video was great very informative
@@venusr9810 aww ty đ„°
thank you! three years out, and your video is still a treasure. honestly? i never even thought about shipping when i started purchasing dishes - i like dishes! so that's what i look at and usually purchase! so when it came time to ship, i just kinda sorta let logic take over - also - i was an army brat, traveled all over the world with my family - watched movers pack and unpack us at least 13 times, so i think i may have simply absorbed my packing logic...which turned out to be basically like yours, but still, learned a lot from you! thank you!
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it. â€ïž
Thank you for a very helpful tutorial. Your background music is a bit loud though and becomes annoying very quickly.
Sorry about that
Thank you for sharing but the music is too loud.
Oh Iâm sorry I didnât realize it was going to be like that. Hope you still got some value from it. â€ïž
Your experience and explanations are so helpful. This was an excellent tutorial. My favorite part was how to fold and wrap to protect the teacup handles! Also your careful attention to every step to ensure padding and balance. Also I would not have known how to reinforce and linebox with bubble wrap and tapping tech niche on the outside. I subscribed based on this video, which is the first Iâve seen. It seems obvious to me I will enjoy your channel because you take pleasure in doing a quality job, thank you âŠ.. so very helpful!!! 31:31
Thank you that is way to sweet â€ïž
New subscriber here. Thank you so much for your know-how. I have so many china sets that have been in my death pile because I was to nervous to ship. Now I feel comfortable enough to start listing! Thank you again.
Aww thank you so much for telling me that! I feel like Iâm kinda a shipping nerd and donât mind the scary stuff đ
I like your approach. Looks solid and protective; but not putting each sub unit or piece in its own box like SOME people on CZcams do. I could have done without the background music but it was worth it to get some good advice.
Thank you! I donât double box items like that I find in wasteful and totally not needed if itâs packed correctly. Thanks for watching.
A most excellent video full of helpful tips, and has restored my confidence in sending out china and other glass items. Maybe lower the background music a bit, so I can hear your wisdom. :)
You are so kind thank you for the tip!! đ
Best video Iâve seen on shipping fragile items!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback đ
Here's the test: go to thrift store and buy crappy china plates, dishes, cups, etc. Wrap them, seal them in box, and then throw box off a roof, or high in the air. If they break, then need other wrapping method.
I guess thatâs one way you could test your packing skills lol.
Excellent video! Thank you for preparing this. I have some fragile items to ship and now I know how to tackle itđ
You are welcome đ€
I sold and must ship a 40 piece set of Christmas China. Packing for shipping is STRESSING ME OUT! Thanks for this video. I wish there was a reseller near me! I'm selling everything in my Mom's 3000 sqft house full of China and antique/vintage furniture. I've stuck with local selling because I'm so overwhelmed with the shipping part, but been trying for the last 2 years. This is probably one of my last items to sell, I've hired an estate sale professional.
It can be overwhelming for sure! I hope this helped you out even if it was just a little bit. Good luck with your estate sale đ„°
@@DoubleTsTreasures Because I'm shipping 8 sets of China, I was wondering if you'd wrap in packs of 4 or 8? Meaning, I put a piece of the flexible foam in between each plate, then wrap them in bubble wrap... would you stick to 4 each or would 8 each be ok? (This is a whole lotta words for a not difficult, but clearly confusing to me question. đ€Ł)
This video was so helpful!!!! And knowing that you used to do this as a job and then watching how you do it was just perfect. I hope to be selling some of my china. Iâm in Canada though, so shipping prices can be even higher.
Thank you so much for letting me know I appreciate that đ
Thank you for showing us how to wrap fragile dishes. I especially appreciate the information about how to wrap the handles.
You are very welcome ty fir watching đ
Thank you so much for the detailed video! I'm just starting my reselling journey and got an awesome deal on some expensive discontinued china. I've been searching for a vid about packing and shipping like crazy, but haven't found one until this morning! Happy New Year!!
Happy new year!
On a FB group that I am a member of someone posted about items being broken during transit. She stated she wrapped extremely well. Double boxed and massive bubblewrap. Another reseller discussed "suspending" the item within the box. They explained in detail, but I am visual and didn't grasp it. Perhaps you can explain this so I can. Thank you so much!
I have some fine China that I want to sell and was worried about how to ship it out and your video was the first one that popped up when I googled on CZcams. It was such a delight, I really enjoyed it! I loved how you shared your workspace, how much you bought the items for and how long that you've had them and And your profit margin. It makes me feel like I can do this too!
You absolutely can!!! Thank youâ€ïž
Same!!
You did a great job maâam. A new subscriber heređ
Thanks đ
Nice video. And $17 shipping! Amazing. I took in a package similar to yours not so long ago to UPS. I had wrapped it and had in a box and was looking to double box. Well I let them rewrap it and send it out for me. It cost $70. $7 for the box. It was 1 in bigger than yours. I was charged for 25 lb due to the size of the box, in-store pack and I also added $100 more for insurance. Actual weight was 15.6 lbs. This was my first shipment of a dish set for 4, each setting sold separately to the same person. I wanted it to arrive safe and it did of course. Got good feedback with shipping mentioned, lol. I learned a lot by watching this video and it gives me courage to try myself next time:) Oh, I did charge enough to cover the cost of sipping but, so much more $$ would of been in my pocket instead of UPS. Thanks again for the helpful video, and I'm a new subscriber! p.s. You look just fine! A re-seller look for sure!
Aww thank you so much Iâm glad it helped. The more you ship the more comfortable you will be đ. Thanks for watching and subbing â€ïž
Was once a household packer like yourself from back in the day. Thank you for the reminder how to pack the cups with handles. The stacking of the plates and small plates is reminiscent from moving days though that bulge at the top of finished shipping carton I found disconcerting. It appeared you had enough large bubblewrap up top to absorb any outside weight placed above it when this carton gets stacked while in transit. I think I would have cobbled together a 16, 16, 02 size lid with cushioner underneath to 'flatten' and level that bulge.
New subscriber nobody had Wrap thereâs like you do just a pro. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thank you very much đ„°
Thank you do much for this video. I am also going to watch more of them. Iâm hoping you have one for a tea set ( tea pot plus 2-4 cups) I learned so much. I guessed 16 lbs, not bad fir a rookie. Thanks again!!!
Your welcome I hope it helped!
New subscriber! Excellent video, I have been using waaaayyyy to much bubble wrap! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you đ
Thank you! This is going into my library!
Thank you glad it was helpful.
đ€ŁI was way off on the weight! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I needed this information todayâŠ. first time shipping plates. Great video!
Thank you Iâm so glad it helped you. âșïž thanks so much for watching.
You're awesome! Thank you
You're welcome!
My mom has wanted me to sell her china. I've been nervous about doing it because of the shipping. I feel much more confident about it now. Thank you. This was really helpful.
Aww thank you for telling me that! Iâm glad it helped đ.
That was very helpful, thanks a lot! đ
Where can I find the foam sheets for between plates? Great video, helps to know you have lots of experience and tips and tricks! Thank you
Thanks for watching. You can find it on Amazon, just search foam wrapping paper. Hope that helps.
The background music is louder than your voice and interferes with the video. I have no idea what you said several times.
Nice job packing. I've moved cross country numerous times with pro packers.
Sorry about that
I m shipping a lot of china. In my experience, I will NOT write Fragile on the box, because somehow it is like a red flag for the carrier to kick it around even harder. Also I noticed that on the top of box you have some bulge. It is pretty dangerous because the box will be hit by this exact spot and will be damaged. Also I use pieces of pool noodles to cover each handle.
I have a set to ship today thanks 4 the info great video
Your very welcome đ€
Great video, loved all the great pointers. Always feared to try selling China. Now I will try. Only thing your music is so loud it distracts from your voice. Thank you
Noted!
This was such a helpful video.
Thank you
Thanks, just subscribed. 200 profit? Iâd be nerdy all day! Great shirt by he way!
Ikr! Thanks so much for watching! â€ïž
Thank you so much for this video, very helpful! đ
Thank you I appreciate that so much đ
Super helpful!
Thank you, I wasnât sure if anyone would really like a whole start to finish video.
Thanks for the affirmation đ
Great video. I needed some tips. I'm shipping a 35pc amber depression set. That's a lot of bubble wrap though. That stuff isn't cheap. I think I would use up all my profits if I used that much.
Oh wow thatâs a lot of pieces!!! I wish you the best of luck and would probably take out extra insurance if it worth over $100. Crossing my fingers for you â€ïž
Thank you for the video. It was very helpful. Where did you get the paper you put between the dishes?
I just found my answer from one of the other people writing in! Ha, ha! Thanks again. I appreciate all the great info.
Yay!
thanks for sharing
Ty
Great video! China always SCARES ME! You're amazing! Can you tell me what tape gun you're using in video -- it's awesome. Mine stinks! Thank you. :)
Itâs a Scotch Brand H-180 industrial grade hand dispenser! Best one Iâve ever found. Been using same one for 4 years!
@@DoubleTsTreasures Awesome!!!! Thank you so much for tip - I will order today. You handle it like a PRO! :)
Thank you!!! Do you have a video of qine glasses?
I donât but I should thatâs a great idea! I do have one coming out of a gorgeous vintage vase I sold!
Thanks! Shipping my first set of ChinaâŠ. Nervous!
You can do it!!!
great video! what type of tape gun is that looks quite sturdy
Thank you! I believe itâs a Scotch. đđ»
Great Video! What was the green item you lay on the bottom and sides of the boxes? What is it called and where can I buy it? Thank you so much for this video
Itâs just the large square bubble wrap. I have links to bubble wrap in my description. I like having all three sizes on hand for shipments like this one! Thanks so much for watching!! đ„°
The foam you put in between each plate. What thickness do you buy? I'm seeing sizes 1/16" or 3/32 for sale not sure which to get.
This is mine, just cut to size you need.
amzn.to/3YS0BsD
Can you include link for foam wrap? There are so many different one's on amazon.
I have 61 pieces to ship, plates, bowls, cups/saucers. Is there a big enough box?? Should I do multiple boxes?? Help!!
Oh wow thatâs a lot of pieces! You just have to remember that when your box gets too large, USPS charges an additional fee on top of the shipping fee. See you definitely donât want to go over that size. If itâs over 22 inches but less than 30.
Good advice thank you!!
Does any glass ever get broken?
Not usually unless the box has been crushed
How did you get the eBay tape ?
I have a store on eBay and they give you a coupon every quarter and I usually purchase their tape with it.
I just sold 9 pieces of blue danube.. Georgia to Alaska. I looked it up because I'm so dang nervous! You just happen to have the very same dishes. đ
Donât be nervous you got this!!
@@DoubleTsTreasures Thank you! Sad thing is that they sold on etsy which is free shipping feature over a certain price so I'm going to lose a lot of profits... at least I got the dishes for free so any profit is nice. đ
You mean 17.4 lbs. NOT OUNCES!!!
That's what I also saw. I packed a 19pc demitasse set with coffee pot (no plates only saucers) and had a smaller box. Mine came to 5#. I was guessing her's would be about 10#. Great video though. It's a keeper and now I feel comfortable selling 2 china sets, but maybe just as replacements. I have to search for advise on that.
Hi I was also wondering what website or program that you used that shows all of the different shipping methods? Or was that in ebay?
That was on ebay. When you go to produce your label it shows you all the available options. Hope this helps.
Thank you! Always great to see shipping videos--particularly for those scary items!! (visit via Murrayed Life video)
Thank you for watching. A lot of people are scared to ship fragile items but itâs really not that bad.
