For those who don't know, the reason the songlist is so large and epic is because Konami made this as a farewell release to DDR. Extreme was the last arcade release for years and had the game not blown up in popularity in the US, may have been the last arcade release ever. And honestly, the game has not been the same since. Look up the special video that plays when you fully unlock the game. It's an ode to the game's history and a farewell. I always found it sad because it was clear the original DDR team was saying goodbye for good. Edit: Here's the video - czcams.com/video/KoFIZASc8XY/video.html
thank you for this i have been looking for one of these songs thats been stuck in my head since 2007 and i finally found it while working at my office job
Regardless of how lackluster the song list for the NA versions are after MAX2, Extreme 1 AND Extreme 2 were still a huge part of my childhood, and I love those games dearly. ^^
Took me a while but finally bought the whole Japanese version of every ddr . This one and party collection is dope. However my favorite song exists only on ddr 5th mix
I was haunted by this one song that I played as a child for 10+ years. Thanks to this video, I now know it's 新谷さなえ - White Lovers !!!!!!!! Finally I can sleep like a baby now
This kinda makes me ashamed to have the US version in my possession for all these years, but it's pretty much impossible for me to get this version now. Prices are ridiculous, and I can see why. What a freaking song list. :'(
I play the American DDRs, and I am absolutely astounded at the sheer amount of songs on this. Plus, a lot of the songs on this game are my favorite songs in the other games. This is clearly the ultimate DDR.
Holy. This has to be the greatest songlist I've ever seen. I remember seeing some of these songs on the US version...but to be on the safe side, does the US version also have the old DDR songs (like Brilliant 2U, Afronova, Maxx 300)? If so, how many? I was never able to finish the game.
Holy cow the console version had all these songs? I used to get imports of the ps1 versions and they only had the songs from that particular mix plus like 3 from the next one. This song list is crazy for at home. Be nice not to have to switch discs all the time AND have 60 FPS on all of them!
@Kunjero I bought this version of DDR off Amazon and Swap Magic 3.8 for my PS2(Fat), and it all worked like a charm! I highly recommend this to someone who wants to finally play this version of DDR Extreme! Oh and it will save to your memory cards bought in the USA.
Interesting that in the US a good chunk of this list went to the Xbox Ultramix series, part to our Universe 1 and we got a Universe 2. Heck, Supernova has some of these songs.
Went to the bowling hall the other day and found out they didn't have a Euromix 2, but it was actually upgraded to the JP version of Extreme. I am the happiest person on Earth.
OMG!! sakura, daikenkai, afronova, dynamite rave, A , tons of paranoia, tons of trip machine, legend of max, max 300, max period and EVEN MORE GREAT SONGS?? this looks like the best DDR game EVAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!

I used to play Dance Dance Revolution as a kid and Extreme was always my favorite. It just had a larger variety of songs than the other ones did. 4th Mix, DDRMAX, SuperNOVA, hell, even the console ports.
They use to have that at my favorite gamestore which was called gameware. Unfortunately they took this game out which was about a year ago. I still remember being very sad when this wasn't there anymore :(
MissingUTAH Not everyone wants to spend time looking for simfiles :P for those inexperienced, a console release is much more accesible and usually contains lots of extra modes as well as things like characters that are more attractive to newcomers and extend replayability. It also adds much more value to songs when you go through the effort to unlock them than simply download it.
Green - DDR EXTREME Licenses / KONAMI Originals. Yellow - BEMANI Crossovers. Purple - Returning songs from CS (Home Edition) / Solo (Sub-series with 6 arrows instead of 4) / CLUB VERSION (Special edition with IIDX). Blue - Returning songs from Main Arcade Series. Orange - New BEMANI Crossovers. Pink - New CS Songs. Red - BOSS SONGS (MAX. (period) was a CS boss exclusive until DDR 2014).
This... has all the good songs that I like playing in ddr..... my goodness gracious I love this version... except dream a dream that's kinda a classic in my house... but still D:
Well this is disappointing. The US version had LESS songs I mean come on. Paranoia, Max 300 and Paranoia Survivor (BOTH versions) were my favorites and Sakura was a song that I was anticipating TO try.*sigh* Wish I had the Japan Version...
cyril marasigan DDR EXTREME 2 aimed to pick up where EXTREME left off and added plenty of songs americans previously had no access to, including both PARANOIA Survivor versions, Sakura, some Dancemania classics and more Konami Originals. It also introduced plenty of songs that later appeared in arcade SuperNOVA. Truly one of the better USA releases.
I remember dancing to The Special's Little Bitch. Was it in the US version? I remember it fondly because I was just getting into punk and ska (which remains as the music that helped me shape my identity, now is almost 13 years later). It was just a lot of fun.
ok: where can I find this precise ddr? I bought ddr extreme which looked exactly the same (same image, same menu) but when I went into game mode, everything was different and the songs are not the same at all? so can anyone tell me if i can find this game (the one in this video) somewhwere in canada? or just ...somewhere?
Can anyone tell me if there is a version with the saints going marching in? It's my favorite one and at the local arcade it's on there but I want to play it on my ps2!
So there’s a song from this game (but the arcade version) that has a part that goes “OI OI OI OIEEEEAAAAAH”. I thought it was by RevenG but I guess not. It had a very wild Japanese feel to it.
Thank you. That’s really fucking sad it didn’t come back to the newer games. I think Extreme will always be my favorite thanks to the music and not knowing that song is on there kinda reaffirms that lol
Does anyone know why the arcade versions don't list all of the songs out like this? A lot of the songs you have to search through the series or alphabet list to find.
@chelchi14 This is the Japanese version. What you have is the US version. Unfortunately the game was heavily altered for it's US release and many songs were cut and replaced. The only way to get this songlist is to import the Japanese PS2 release. And because this release is so good, it's been getting pretty expensive.
@Zlandael the US version doesn't have as much as this version, it has way less. Sadly, there's no Afronova ): & the only red songs are The Legend Of MAX, Trip Machine Survivor, & Maximizer.
Man. The look on my face back then when I bought the US version at Gamestop, thinking it would be this. 😭
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Total dissapointment i know
I be in a mood where I wanna play extreme ps2 US and I soon as I get to the song list I lose motivation
@@keropi328 it’s so trash, there’s a reason why we just go to the arcade to play ddr
@@kujakubes241 oh yeah it’s literally dog shit I wish I got this deal for the JP game I saw for like 30 :(
All the best songs on one epic disc.
You play DDR?
i have that game on my modded PS2's hard drive.

Hands down, the best console DDR game ever made!
not really tbh
somehow, DDR Ultramix and DDR II still beats it.
this is BY FAR the best songlist on any DDR. trying to download the iso of this one and take the dust off my dance pad.
Just like to update this random 8 year old comment to say I've managed to get a complete copy for my collection :)
The Nostalgia is real....especially when i hear Healing Vision and Rhythm and police
1:05
It was because of that song I got into DDR!
IT WAS SO DAMN CATCHY!
And I became a fan of Creamy from then on
It's a shame that they did not bring back Creamy afterwards.
The biggest Sound list of a PS2 DDR game.
The "finale" feeling was interesting.
thank you for this i have been looking for one of these songs thats been stuck in my head since 2007 and i finally found it while working at my office job
both paranoia and healing vision bring me back to my old days playing this game its really good
Dman there's like 10 boss songs on this version....WE GOT GOT!
Newer DDR songs have lots of hard songs, though it's more boring this way tbh
Regardless of how lackluster the song list for the NA versions are after MAX2, Extreme 1 AND Extreme 2 were still a huge part of my childhood, and I love those games dearly. ^^

You can play Japanese version by using Open Ps Loader .9
download the iso from www.theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-isos/
U're not sayin' nothin' about European DDR games bein' worse
At least you get half-decent versions, Europe get trash (kinda, some of the music is sorta decent too)
you don't wanna know :3 The only good version of US DDR is Ultramix 3
Agreed :((
