However, in the video, the owner said they do call 911 to say they are turning on the simulated smoke and fire to warn them. So now the 911 operator has the address and a fire official will check it out. Now the fire trucks will not respond to that address 'Code 1" but rather take their time. If the 911 operator gets more calls, they will notify the fire trucks to "step it up" , it might be a real fire. Also, the 911 operator will ask the caller if they see hundreds of people standing around with cameras. In my thirty five years of firefighting, all firefighters learn how the call is dispatched to know if the fire is real or large. It's the way the 911 operator talks, what they say, how many calls they are receiving to the same address, time of day. If you read this far, test your smoke detector today. Going by that logic, then people who live in Tornado Alley and areas with Hurricanes should just stop existing during the seasons. Let's not forget places that they heavy snowfall each year and blizzards. It's Cali baby. Living here, you already know there is a calculated risk to move into certain areas that are known fire zones. I'm sure this home is nowhere near a fire zone and these people have good intentions.

I have a very dark sense of humor, however, considering these people live in California, it's a little "tone-deaf" (yes, I know, I'm using a very over-used description, but it kind of applies here, don't you think?) Because so many wildfires have been raging and burning down many people's homes, I can't imagine how folks who have lost their home to fire are viewing this clip and how they must be feeling! When I was little we had a cauldron with fog coming out of it on our porch. I remember someone frantically running to our house asking if we are okay and us confusedly saying yes? About five minutes later a fire truck arrived and about busted down our door.
Our trick was no where near this cool looking. Nor even realistic. Shout out to whoever almost got my door smashed in.
