So Beautiful. Thank you Amanda and Harper's for this interview.
I love this girl, such an inspiration ❤
I'm a poet and I'm going to try the research thing.
it is great Amanda Gorman likes poetry, as a boy I had undiagnosed dyslexia, not unusual for teachers in the 1940s. So i grew up working, first job age 10 for 75 cents a week, second job at age 12 in grocery store for 40 cents per hour minus social security, in high school during the summer I worked two jobs; grocery 6 days a week and at the town grainery from 5 PM to at times 2 or 3 AM, as college student I worked 12 hours both Saturday and sunday in grocery for 1 dollar an hour, minus SS, state and federal tax. I paid for place to live, all the food I ate, all tutions/books, family was poor. Gave up on education after two years, Drafted in the military in 1961 but enlisted in the Air force for 4 years; was at that time as inspector of finished parts line for Caterpillar corp; making $100 a week with drop in pay to $67 per month. In 1965 married to brillant degreed woman and eventually a second degree as certified teacher in Virginia. Eventually retired at age 75 when making $100K/year. Paid SS for 63 years. Put two children thru private schools and college with both graduating without any loans to pay off. Education is responsibility of the parents!!!! To afford this I fixed anything that broke at our home and on all my cars. Gave our oldest a used car at graduation.
Inspiring 💙
Love you so much❤❤❤❤

You are a sad person!!! I just know that.... gravitate towards the positive and peace and joy will be found. The same way we have different beautiful flowers and weeds, it's the same for humans....
@@gerrynyack3143 you must not know what contrived means. Clearly I don’t find her or her “messages to be genuine
